After inviting her uncle in, the three of them found a seat in the small living room of her apartment. Jenny was hoping nothing crazy would happen as she waited for Luna to start her interrogation of her uncle.
However, it so happened that Videl could not keep her eyes off of Jenny causing her to ignore the words Luna wanted her to say. The reason being that while they were waiting for Jenny's uncle to show up, Jenny had taken a shower and fixed her hair. She now looked exactly like the Tiana she knew. At least, from the shoulders up that is.
Martin Baker who quickly got uncomfortable with the silence decided to speak up first.
"So, you girls had a question for me?"
'Videl! Stop daydreaming and start following the plan!' Luna yelled in Videls head.
Videl finally snapped out of it with rosy cheeks and turned to look at Martin.
"ehem… Sorry about that. Um, so you helped with the creation of Real Kingdom Online, correct?" Videl asked the first question that Luna told her to.
"Yes, that's correct, I worked on the code for the interface in the game." Martin said wondering where this was going.
'Tell him that we know what he did and that he should explain, we'll use this to see if he reveals anything thinking we already know about it.' Luna explained.
"About Real Kingdom Online, we know what you did. Care to explain?" Videl stated in her best interrogation like voice, or at least, what she thought was one.
Hearing this, Martin stared sweating buckets. 'Did she really find out about that.' Was one of his many thoughts racing through his mind.
Jenny, seeing how her uncle reacted had her heart plumet. 'Did he really do something bad?!?' she thought as she proceeded to also start sweating buckets.
Videl slowly turned her attention back to Jenny again. 'Wow, she's so beautiful, if she really is Tiana, I hope she'll teach me some of her sword magic.'
'My god these three are hopeless…' Luna thought to herself hearing Videls thoughts and seeing how the other two were reacting.
"H-how did you find out?" Martin asked with a look that screamed guilty.
"Does it matter?" Videl relayed Lunas words.
"No, I guess not. *sigh* Alright, I'll explain… So, around the time we finished the game the CEO of the company that invited most of us for the project asked everyone to give a special account to someone they know." Martin stated his explanation, unable to look Jenny in the eyes.
"And well, those accounts were special because they had a cheat on them. A cheat that more than doubled your experience gains. And as you seem to have figured out, the one I gave away was to you, Jenny."
"I'm sorry for not saying anything!" Martin stood up and bowed. "Its just that they made us sign an NDA so that we couldn't say anything."
Jenny was left speechless. Her fears that her uncle was involved in whatever was happening to Lunas world had vanished but something else unexpected was revealed.
"So, I was playing a cheated account then? Wow, now it makes sense how I was the first to reach max level…" Jenny said when she could finally think again.
"Yes, you may have played all day every day for the first month like all the other competitive players but you only played leisurely and enjoyed your time playing. It's only because of the extra experience from the cheat that you barley hit max level hours before the first competitive players did." Martin continues to explain. "The main reason no one questioned your achievement was because of how close It was and the fact that no one had been paying attention to you enough to know. They just thought that an unknown competitive player had made an appearance out of nowhere."
"But how did I not notice? I was playing with friends." Jenny wondered.
"Well, all the players with cheated accounts were put in the same starting area. So those that you met at the start of the game and became friends with all had the same experience gains as you. And, since you played all day every day while the rest of your friends didn't, you were the only one that leveled up so fast, if you remember correctly." Martin did his best to clarify.
"Ok, do you know why they asked you to give out these accounts with an experience cheat?" Videl said for Luna.
"Honestly, no, I have no clue." Martin said as he lifted his shoulders and held his hands in the air.
'Ask him how the cheat works.' Luna said curiously.
"Hmmmm, well even though I said it was a cheat connected to your account, technically that's not correct." Martin replied after Videl relayed Lunas words. "The cheat is actually installed on your E-merseU and anyone who uses it would also receive the same experience boost."
"Ok so, who are these guys that contracted you to help make the game?" Videl relayed another one of Lunas questions.
"Oh, the company behind Real Kingdom Online is Ultra Bright Gaming. Their name is on all the promotions of the game. They came up out of nowhere and Real Kingdom Online is their first and only game."
'Hmmmm, they must be the masterminds behind my world's problems.' Luna thought.
"Ok, I believe that's all the questions we have for now." Jenny said as she was getting tired.
"Yes, I should probably get going, your aunt is probably waiting with our late-night dinner already done." Martin said before getting up.
They all headed for the door but before Martin left, he turned around with one last thing to say.
"Again, I am sorry. But when I learned that the games release was on the same day as your birthday, I couldn't resist giving the account to you. I thought it was fate telling me to do so."
Jenny then responded, "Its fine Uncle Marty, at least I know now."
After Martin left, Jenny couldn't help but think about everything differently. Even though she hadn't known about it, she now felt guilty about using a cheat as it had made her famous in game.
While her thoughts were still distracted Luna reformed herself outside of Videls crest and began talking in their head again.
"So do you think it would be possible to meet with Ultra Bright Gaming?"
This startled Jenny out of her depressive thoughts and she looked at the other two in the room with more interest. Helping them could lead her to the answer of why they wanted to give out cheated accounts in the first place.
"Hmm, I am not sure but I can look it up and see if they have a website with a contact section or something." She replied.
"Ok, other than that I have a question." Luna all of a sudden sounded more serious than normal.
"Y-yes?"
"Would it be possible for Videl to use your E-merseU. If it is possible to increase her experience gains, I think it is very much a necessity so that she can train to be ready for what is to come later faster."
"Ok." Jenny could only agree even though she was still unsure about continuing to use the cheat.
