Chereads / My Bad Habits / Chapter 8 - Attraction Game

Chapter 8 - Attraction Game

Rafael felt her melting as Isabella leaned closer to him, her lips pulsing against his fingers. The heat of them alone made his cock rock-fucking-hard. It was an inexplicable need he had never felt before, thundering and roaring inside him with a wrecking force.

He certainly had sex with multiple women before, but with Isabella it was different. He hadn't rushed the decision to have her scream on his bed because he just knew that if he fuck her once, everything would be blown out of proportion. And it's not just because he rarely fucks the same woman twice or because she's turning into an unhealthy obsession. It's all of that and more. It was the way Bella never submitted to his dominance even when she trembled in his hold, she was bent on defying him and acted like a wild lioness that refused to be tamed.

The way her small body felt so close to his and how her breathing hitched the moment his fingers dug into the sensitive, easily reddening skin of her throat. "What if I keep running?" Her voice was low, so low that he barely heard it.

"I'll keep chasing you."

"What if I run fast and disappear? What if you can't find me? Will you give up then?"

"I'm not who you're running from, Bonita. I won't slow down, and I sure as fuck won't give up. So if you feel like running, do it. Believe me, I will enjoy every second of hunting you down." The wolf inside him growled at the thought. He was as excited as Raf.

She licked her lips, and her tongue grazed his thumb. "And then what?"

"Then?"

"When you find me when you catch me and forbid me from running anymore, what are you going to do?"

"Bend you over the nearest object and fuck that tight cunt of yours until you can no longer hold in those screams. Until I have to grab you by the throat and jam my fingers into this mouth to mute you."

"Maybe you're too arrogant and think everyone will fall for your charms."

"I don't just think it, I believe it."

"That's what all arrogant jerks say."

"I think I have enough reasons to be arrogant."

"Like what?"

"My looks, for starters. Even you fell for it that first time in the bar."

"That wasn't a very studied decision. Besides, I would've slept with the first man who appeared. I wasn't being picky."

His jaw clenched so hard, that he was surprised a tendon doesn't snap. "You would've slept with anyone. Interesting." The thought of her being touched by another man didn't set well with him for some reason he couldn't understand.

"Yeah, so it's not about your looks or your accent or the scent of your cologne."

He smiled. "Good to know what you liked about me."

"Don't flatter yourself." She grabbed the forearm of his hand that was on her throat. "You're not the only fish in the sea, Rafael."

"What?"

"You're not the only one with a useful dick out there. So if I want more fun or to let go, I'll just go to a bar and pick someone else to spend the night with."

A muscle tic in his jaw again. His body tightened and so did his hold on her throat. She wheezed, her face reddening with the lack of air and he released her. He was two seconds away from suffocating the fuck out of her. "You don't want to play that game with me, Isabella." His voice eerily calm, considering the fire that's eating him from the inside out.

"Why? Because you're the only one allowed to play games?" She tilted her head to the side. "You don't know who you're up against, Rafael. You really, really should've pretended you didn't know me, but you made it hard for both of us when you bought me on the auction and started a needless game. One that I decided to play."

"Hmm. We're playing, then?"

"I've signed your contract so I think we are." He hummed as she exposed her neck to him, "Since you don't touch the women unless they give you a fuck-me face, guess what the first rule is?"

"Enlighten me."

"No fucking."

"Today?"

"Ever."

He chuckled, the sound dark and ominous to his own ears. He approached her and she must have seen the menacing look in his eyes, because her eyes followed his every move cautiously. He towered over her tiny frame so that he was looking down on her. 'She's so small,' He thought as he wanted to throw her over his shoulder. "Let's see how long you'll last, because I promise that I'll fuck those words out of you, Bonita."

A few minutes later, Isabella went into the room where she was locked up and found Valery waiting for her. A travel bag nestled next to her on the bed. "I packed for you." She said, smiling at Bella. "Try to get some sleep. We have a meeting in four hours."

"I don't think your meetings have anything to do with me. I'm not part of your gang. If anything, I'd rather use such information to hunt you all down."

Valery's smile only widened as she approached Isabella, "I don't think you're a bad person, are you?" Bella averted her gaze away in response, "Do you think you live in a world where there is only black and white? Good humans and evil immortals?"

"You kill humans and expect me to think you're not that bad?"

"Hunters invade our covens and kill every living thing there. They don't care if they're young or old, good or bad. And most of them are just peaceful packs that have lived in the old abandoned woods for generations. Most of them have never dealt with humans or seen any of them."

Isabella took a few steps back when she noticed tears gathering in Valery's eyes. The pain was clearly evident in her eyes. For a moment, Bella forgot who she was and patted her on the shoulder, then took her hand back as if she had committed a crime. "The Lodge would never kill immortals indiscriminately. They target those who have killed or harmed a human."

"If that's the case, why would they try to get rid of your team?" Said Diego as he entered the room with Ivan. Isabella did not turn in their direction. She refused to listen. The Lodge is her only family. They would never betray her. They are the good people. She kept telling herself that.

Ivan pulled up the chair in the corner of the room, sat on it and typed something on his laptop, "Ella, would you take a look at this, please?" On the screen was a surveillance video of their team being watched by masked men as they parked their car the night they were going to kill Pedro Mendez. "That's not all," Ivan continued. "I hacked into the personal devices of Pedro Mendez and Antonio Mendez. They were in contact with someone who works for the Lodge. Apparently, this agent is one of the highest employees there. Take a look at this email."

Isabella couldn't believe her eyes. The email contained detailed information about the plan for the attack. The date, time, and locations were spot on. The only ones who knew about it were her team, Maria, and Talon, the leader of The Lodge. Isabella trusted each of them with her life. There had to be more to it than that. Someone was spying on them. She had to warn Talon as soon as possible.

As Bella remained silent, Diego squinted over at her. He knew she wanted to reach them out, so he added, "Salvador is watching your every move closely, Isabella. You can try to contact them, but you'll only put them in greater danger." She knew what he had said was right, but she couldn't just stand there and do nothing.

She can not watch her team die whilst being stuck here playing a stupid game of werewolf.

"Guys, let's leave her to rest. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." Valery interrupted, "Bella, you do not have to attend the meeting. Call me if you need anything." She hugged her before grabbing Diego by the elbow and escorting him out of the room with her.

"Ella," a soft teenage voice called from the back of the room. "Welcome to the pack." He said as he closed the laptop and gathered his things to leave. He gave her the same gentle smile he had when they first met.

The sound of the door closing was her breaking point. She dropped to the floor and thought about how the last few days had been. She questioned her definition of good and bad. The idea of living a peaceful life among immortals was so different from what she had been taught all her life.

The four hours had passed quickly. She found herself in the same place, still thinking about what she had heard and seen. She decided to go on with her original plan while being more cautious.

She put on a crop top and leather skirt and made her way to the underground floor. 'Room B211,' she tried to remember which room the meeting would take place in. She could hear Rafael speaking from the elevator. "The Black diamond should be somewhere near his office, which is located at the top of the tower."

The door opened to reveal the tiny figure of Isabella. She took the empty seat at the end of the table and propped her feet up on it, folding her arms over her chest. "Are you done messing around?" She finally spoke as the room fell silent with her presence. "Let's get down to the real talk now. Here's the plan, if you really want the diamond..."

The Valdez didn't disappoint Isabella's expectations for another luxurious aspect in their lives. They had a private jet plane and a private pilot, not just any pilot, but the best in Mexican military pilot, Alejandro Pérez. His black hair was hidden under the pilot's cap he wore. His chocolate brown eyes shone under the shadow of the hat as he scanned her from head to toe and finally rested on her face.

Concern was evident on his face as he recognized her. 'The Lodge's second team leader, Isabella Jones.' He recalled. His eyes spoke enough for him. He'd watch her every move. Isabella rolled her eyes at the thought. Another big name is getting involved in this mission. It's going to be a real challenge to take all those heads down and get back to headquarters to warn Talon about the traitor among them.

The flight was quiet, very different from the trips she usually took with her team. Loki and Chance were arguing in the rear. Link and Maria accompanied her and convinced her to hang out with the team after the mission. Max was glued to his laptop until Loki kicked the screen, provoking him to join the others. They were full of energy. A faint smile appeared on her face and disappeared as soon as she noticed it.

"Just do it, Raf. We both know you're interested in her." Valery coaxed. "We won't know if my smartass brother's doubts are true unless you get closer to her."

Isabella looked away as she couldn't understand the conversation, though she was disappointed. 'He was interested in someone while he was trying to seduce me.' She thought to herself. 'For him, it was just a game. I should kill him, not have some stupid attraction toward him. He's a monster no matter how human he looked.'

Her attention went to Ivan and Diego, who were discussing their part of the plan. She unobtrusively liked how hard workers they were. Luciano sat in the very back and relaxed. She smiled at the thought of how similar they were. "Is there anything I could get for you, Hermosa?" A soft male voice spoke. She turned and looked at him. A tall ash- brown hair white man in his late twenties smiled at her genuinely. His green eyes with a hint of blue glistened in the sunlight. Her gaze fell on his body, 'His broad shoulders and well-built torso are a perfect match for his stunning face, oh and down to..' She interrupted herself when she felt him chuckle at her stares. "You can check me out all you wish when we take off, Hermosa."

"Eric!" She finally spoke.
