---- Battle Start! Squire Versus TrinitySerpent! ----
--TrinitySerpent(1) rears up!
--TrinitySerpent(2) rears up!
--TrinitySerpent(3) rears up!
It's a rather strange creature. At first it looks like a two headed snake with a long tail dragging behind it, only it turns out that the tail is, in fact, another head. I guess it's good for being able to see in all directions, but seems a bit impractical. Each of the heads has a slightly different scale coloring, which fade and merge into black at the main body, if such a thing truly exists, but thankfully they don't seem to represent any sort of unique powers or dangerous breath that each head has. I guess it's just for style? Anyways, I'm not the same dog I was back then! It's time to settle this!
--Squire uses Divine Strike! TrinitySerpent(1) suffers 195 points of damage! Critical hit! TrinitySerpent(2) suffers 360 points of damage! TrinitySerpent(3) suffers 179 points of damage!
It's still coming, but that second head (I wonder what standard the naming is based on? How is it decided which head is the 'first' one?) looks to be in pretty rough shape, and even for the other two, it was clearly far from just a flesh wound.
--TrinitySerpent(1) strikes and misses!
--TrinitySerpent(2) strikes and misses!
--TrinitySerpent(3) strikes and misses!
I may have been tanking a lot of attacks so far in my journey, but I'm pretty quick on my feet, and while three heads might be great for biting three times as hard, it does little to improve the maneuverability of the creature, especially since they don't appear to be very coordinated. It was an honorable opponent.. sort of, but it's time to finish this!
--Squire uses Divine Strike! Nothing happens...
Huh?
--TrinitySerpent(1) strikes! Squire suffers 14 points of damage! Squire's HP has been reduced to 48!
--TrinitySerpent(2) strikes! Squire suffers 11 points of damage! Squire's HP has been reduced to 37!
--TrinitySerpent(3) strikes! Squire suffers 19 points of damage! Squire's HP has been reduced to 18!
Why didn't that work? It's bad enough that it didn't actually do any damage, but I was so caught off guard, I left myself wide open to an attack! Is there a timer or some resource that it requires? It's my fault, in truth, for relying so heavily on it. Well, only one thing to do now...
-- Squire retreats!
--Serpent(1) gives chase!
--Serpent(3) gives chase!
--Serpent(2) tries to retreat and fails!
I can't say I'm too surprised by the fact that it's chasing after me (well, most of it... the more wounded head is kind of being dragged along against its will). I don't plan on giving up either, but I need to create a little distance between it and myself. Sure, I'm quicker, but there are three of it and only one of me, and a single lucky strike from any of the heads could kill me, and then it would continue to hunt the villages, and my master would still be in danger!
I can't run too far, though. I don't want to get out of its aggro range, otherwise all the progress I made so far would be lost. I dart around a series of thick threes, and try to put my new ability to the test.
--- Squire uses Lay on Paws! Squire is healed for 32 Hit Points of damage! Squire's HP is now 50!
Wow, that's really good! I guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering how powerful Divine Strike turned out to be.
--- TrinitySerpent(3) strikes! Squire suffers 15 points of damage! Squire's HP has been reduced to 35!
--- TrinitySerpent(2) strikes but is out of range!
--- TrinitySerpent(1) strikes but is out of range!
Ugh, I really need to learn to stop letting my guard down. That monster is quicker than I thought. Had all three been able to attack, I might have been in serious trouble, but luckily, only one head could fit through the gap between the trees, the other two trying to awkwardly curl around them. It's definitely not very coordinated. I'm not complaining, though. Now, it's a one on one fight, against a creature with severely reduced mobility. I can handle this!
--- Squire attacks! TrinitySerpent(3) suffers 43 points of damage!
Not bad! Still a lot weaker than the divine strike, but way harder than I used to hit FrontDoor for!
Perhaps I should have withdrawn out of the serpents range and tried to heal again, but it felt like a dishonorable way to fight. I can't really use the ability while on the move, either, so if I do stay here, it will inevitably leave me open to an attack I can't dodge, and worse, like my Divine Strike earlier, it might fail entirely. All that remains is to fight! It goes rather predictably, the other two heads still essentially trapped, trying to brute force their way forward. As for my current opponent, it's still not weak, and I have a few close calls before eventually...
--- Squire attacks! Critical hit! TrinitySerpent(3) suffers 98 points of damage! TrinitySerpent(3) has been defeated!
Yay, one down, two to go! Unfortunately, with the one attacking head (or neck, more accurately, the head itself now severed) now lying limp and exerting no pressure on the others, the remaining pair pull free, slithering in tandem around the trees, ready to face me. This battle isn't over yet!
--- TrinitySerpent(1) begins to devour TrinitySerpent(3)!
--- TrinitySerpent(2) attacks TrinitySerpent(1) for 10 points of damage!
What's going on? We're in the middle of a fight here! Are they seriously stopping to eat their own sibling? And then fighting over who gets to eat their own sibling? Wait, is it a sibling or a part of its own body? Well who cares! It's disgusting either way! Show some respect for your fallen... whatever it is!
--- Squire uses Divine Strike! TrinitySerpent(1) suffers 190 points of damage! TrinitySerpent(1) is defeated! Critical hit! TrinitySerpent(2) suffers 336 points of damage! TrinitySerpent(2) is defeated!
Wow, poor TrinitySerpent(2), getting hit with a critical twice in a row like that. Oh well.
