Earth, or Terra to the wider galaxy. A backwater planet where quite a few secrets lie in hiding. Some of which that are noticeable, and others that have yet to be noticed at all. However, this is not about the planet itself, this is about who is arriving to this world. An individual from galaxies away, a being who has just witnessed the end of his home. A warrior who has tasted a very devastating defeat...
{1711, North America}
The North American continent was in the midst of either being fought over, subjugated, or lived upon. The indigenous peoples living on it moved along with their lives as if nothing were about to happen. Whether they be the natives of this land, foreigners conquering them, or the animals that moved on in life. That would come to a end once a light in the sky came soaring over the sky. The night was young, and the sky was littered with hundreds of stars. It was soon lit up with a blazing fire going across the star covered sky. Not long afterwards, it came speeding downwards. Flashes of red beams escaped the ball of fire, then several bodies fell from it. It wouldn't be long before the inferno of fire crashed into a forest. It skidded across the land, making a trail that was 15 miles wide. When the ball of fire came to a halt, the forest went quiet.
Nothing seemed to make a sound, until a loud cry of effort came out of the mouth of one individual. The object that crashed onto Earth was a spacecraft unlike any from the known galaxy. The vessel was suddenly moved rather forcefully, allowing someone in black and gold armor move from being underneath the now burning spacecraft. It was a man with sun baked skin, he had a golden looking helmet that gleamed from the light of the fire. There was a gaping chest wound on the right side of his breastplate, a cut at his hip that had blood oozing from it, blood even dripped from the bottom of his helmet. The lower part of his jaw was exposed, as well as his neck. That said, the armor that he was adorned with clung closely to him. There was even a golden emblem at the center of his chest, it remained plastered there despite the damage to his armor. With a spit, he let out any excess scarlet blood that accumulated in his mouth. The visors on his helmet were shaped as eye holes, they hued with scarlet electricity. He was limping away from his spacecraft with blurred vision, unsure as to where he was.
That stopped when he heard a screech behind him, it was demonic like, horrorifying. When the man turned, he found a 10 foot tall brown skinned and eldricth looking monstrosity. It had razor sharp teeth, a hunched back, elongated head, eyes that resembled an inscet's, and a pair of stingers at it's butt end. It's mouth salavated after seeing him, it had removed itself from the starship as well, with wings that had been scorched from the crash landing. It let out a screeching roar, then bulldozed it's way towards the man six insect like appendages. Gritting his teeth, the black and gold armored man allowed power to rush into him. The golden gauntlets from his wrist to forearms hued with red energy. They soon unleashed scarlet electricity that crackled on the man's arms. The creature before the man came in, using one of it's many appendages to skewer him. He dodged, then sent a rising uppercut into his enemy's jaw. It stumbled backwards, then spun around to smack the man in his side with it's stingers. It sent him flying into a tree, causing it to break and shatter upon impact.
The man let out a howl of pain, his wounded body was at it's limit. With a mix of a groan and a growl, he rose back up to his feet. Then placed his palms together, causing the crackling scarlet energy from his palms to combine. It soon became a red cross guarded sword of scarlet lightning. It illuminated the forest around as well as himself. When the creature came at him this time, it was met with a swipe from this armored warrior in black and gold. He slashed at his adversary, cutting off one of it's incoming appendages. Then with a backhanded swipe, he cut off it's entire lower body. The eldricth horror screeched in pain, then lashed out at him. It's razor sharp teeth came down and bit into the man's shoulder like a rabid dog. The man groaned in pain, then shoved his blade of light through the creature's chest, causing it to spew out lime green blood onto him. Soon after, it's red eyes began to dim and die down to a dark burgundy color. Showing that it had died from it's stab wound.
The man allowed his scarlet sword of electricity to dissipate, then used his strength to push this monster off of him. He felt it's elongated teeth being moved off of his shoulder, his blood dripping off of him in pools now. Placing one hand on his shoulder, he began limping towards the ship, and found a pod laying outside of it seemingly undamaged. It would take several long minutes, but he would eventually arrive to it. With his vision darkening, he placed a bloodied hand on the pod, and pressed a button to begin a decompression sequence. Steam escaped from the pod as he watched the lid to it light up to reveal the occupant inside. He found a teenaged boy with a scar going across their face laying inside. They laid unmoving with their eyes closed and body relaxed in some sort of hibernation. When the lid slowly opened, the man placed his bloodied hand on the boy's head, blooding it. A sad smile slowly grew on his face as he caressed the boy's short ginger hair.

"Ey Kane!" A man called, waking up the teenaged boy who was now a 30 year old looking man. He awoke with a slight flinch as his eyes fluttered open. He looked rather built, as if he had trained his body to be that of an Olympic Athlete. His head was laid down on a cubical desk, before him was a computer that was off and a notepad littered with information. A yawn left Jacen, or rather his modern day name, Jason Kane. He sat up in his chair and let out a sigh as he ran a hand through his red hair. He was wearing a white long sleeved buttoned up shirt with a burgundy red tie, black khakis, and black dress shoes. The scar on his face remained despite the passage of time. With a turn of the head, he found his cubical neighbor glaring down at him over the small wall with a smug smile. "You got that report ready?", he questioned, "Fury's going to give you Hell if you don't-"
"If you paid attention, then you'd have found that I emailed it to you 30 minutes ago Barton." Jason interrupted, causing the man to frown. He quickly went back to his cubical, lowering himself to check his own computer. After a few minutes he rose back up to stare down at Jason with an apologetic smile.
"Sorry man, just trying to make sure that you don't lose your job."
"Appreciated, but I'm good."
"Aw, sounds like someone's been dumped." A mocking feminine voice called. Leaning back with his rolling chair, Jason found a red haired beauty wearing a black skin tight bodysuit. A smirk plastered on her face as she stared back at him, then at Barton who rolled his eyes at her.
"Romanoff, haven't seen you around lately." Jason called, then began to stretch as he slowly rose from his seat.
"Been busy."
"Yeah I know, classified."
"You know since we have the next week off, we can go to this pub I've found." Barton offered.
"Clint, every time that we go to a pub with you it's always alcohol and darts." Jason pointed out, causing the man to shrug smugly.
"Not my fault that I can't seem to miss."
"Yes it is, you don't even try to stop yourself." Natasha pointed out.
After having done his stretch, he let out another yawn. He then checked his watch, noticing the time and raised a brow. "So, what brings you to our humble abode Ms. Romanoff?", Jason inquired, "Here to finally ask Barton out on a date? It's been a long time coming."
"First of all, gross", Natasha sneered, "Secondly, I'm here because Fury wants to see you. He has your next assignment, you're heading to a small town in New Mexico."
Jason looked to Natasha and raised a brow at her. Then shrugged before turning and began walking past her. He kept up a stoic facade, as if he were a seasoned warrior. The truth was he was anything but a warrior, he was just a lucky runt who escaped his home's destruction. Jacen was only 150 years old when he arrived on Terra, that would be 15 in Terran years. His people aged much slower than Terrans, to the point that their oldest could be 1,000 to 1,500 years old. Even that didn't matter anymore, his home was gone. Taken away by an enemy that he and his people were not ready for. By an enemy who so dangerous that could destroy all life if not stopped.
As he walked out of the office portion of the building that he was in, he familiarized himself with where he was going. He was Shield Agent Jason Kane, a field operative who was second to Natasha Romanoff. He had secrets of course, some of which gained the ire of Nick Fury, the Director of Shield. The lie that Jason had in place was that he was descended from Nazi Germans. The lie stuck, mainly because he made forged documents for it. Jason has had 300 years to come up with quite a few lies, it was easier decades ago before the birth of Shield. Now the lies had to become solidified and more complex. He was seen as an excellent agent, one with imaginary corspes in his closet. Though he wasn't judged by Fury, for it seemed that Natasha Romanoff was more or less the same. Of course that meant that Jason would have to do his research on her, to which he was met with Barton impeding him.
It wasn't much, but he did find out that she was once a member of Russia's secret intelligence organization. Though he wasn't able to dig up anymore since he now had Barton eyeballing him. So now he is seen as a cat who is getting too curious. That did not matter to Jason, mainly because Fury already had a talk with him about this. To keep his eyes outside of Shield rather than in. Speaking of the African American male, he bounded a corner to find Fury speaking to another Agent of Shield. Phil Coulson, the one good eye of Fury. The two were conversing before looking to see Jason approaching them. Phil gave him a greeting nod while Fury eyeballed him.
Jason stood at attention once he was 6 feet from Coulson and Fury, then saluted Fury.
"At ease, Agent Kane", Fury dismissed, "We've got a situation out in New Mexico, Coulson will brief you on the way. Just know that you're working as muscle for the most part. That said, if you feel like you need to get a little...'hands on'? You are authorized to do so. Just let Coulson know when you're about to do it. We don't want another situation like back in Putapesh with Barton and Romanoff."
"Understood sir." Kane accepted.
"Coulson." Fury bid his farewell, then turned and walked off.
Phil Coulson looked to Kane then gestured for him to walk with him. "We've got some kind of anomaly out in New Mexico, picked it up about an hour after it happened. We already got people heading there, you and me are headed to identify and contained whatever did that."
Jason nodded, understanding what was to be done then raised a brow at Coulson. There was something that he didn't quite understand, Coulson's ranking was higher than his persay, so why was he being sent instead of Rommanoff.
"Is there a reason that Agent Romanoff wasn't selected instead of me?" Jaspn inquired.
"Oh, that's because she has another assignment pertaining to the Avengers Initiative."
"I see..."
Almost all Shield agents were aware of this, but Jason was a little hesitant about it. He had seen what Stark could do, but was also aware of the man's unpredictable nature. He may have been the smartest man alive, but that didn't mean that he could translate that to being a reliable man. Stark had shown that it was easy to manipulate him and cause him to make mistakes. Then again, Natasha's talent to get into someone's head and make them say and do things was without equal.
Then there was Bruce Banner, a ticking bomb that could explode at any moment. Jason had read the reports of the man allegedly jumping from a helicopter and falling from over 100 feet to Harlem. Instead of becoming a human paste on the pavement, he reverted into his alter-ego the Hulk. Meaning that the man most likely couldn't die to normal means. That said, his intelligence as a scientist was superb. One would think that he was a better alternative to Stark if push came to shove.
"I am guessing that Barton was your first choice?" Jason questioned.
"No, he was the second", Coulson denied as the two continued to walk, "He would have been good if it meant taking out any hostiles from a distance. That said, if it happened to he anything that he couldn't deal with. Say...a child, then you were the better option. Especially with your track record in Russia, Afghanistan, and Putapesh. Natasha and Barton still don't know that was you right?"
"Fury ordered that it remained as an anonymous agent, but I believe that they both suspect that I had something to do with it." Jason replied.
"Well, they'll figure out at some point. Get your things together, and I'll meet you at the parking lot."
"Understood."
{New Mexico}[Author couldn't remember what the town's name was]
Coulson and Kane both exited the SUV vehicles that they arrived in. The two agents were watching as several dozen civilians were taking turns trying to grab something. They along with other Shield agents who were there with them even saw an elderly man try to pull whatever object it was out of the ground. Kane allowed a smile to form on his cold exterior, while Coulson began contacting Fury.
Kane found it amusing that the humans were trying to pull out the object. His amusement became confusion when he noticed that the object looked mighty familiar. His brows furrowed as he squinted his eyes, his vision zooming in to see what it was. Coulson was unaware at the moment as he talked to Fury.
When Kane's locked onto the object, his eyes began to widened after he realized what it was. Then his expression became dark, as if he was about to murder someone. His mind went to one race that ge and his people hated almost as much as those eldricth horrors. The race who make themselves appear good when they are nothing more than hypocrites.
'Asgardians...' Kane thought with malice, his thoughts going back to the last time that his people encountered the self imposed "defenders" of the Nine Realms.
'If one is here on Terra...then I am going to enjoy this more than I should.'
"Kane?" Called Coulson, giving the man a questioning look. He had ended reporting to Fury about the current situation, and had noticed Kane's dark glare.
Kane looked to Coulson, and reverted his gaze to the cold one that he was use to using.
"Sorry Coulson, had a memory come back to me.." Kane reassured.
"A bad one?"
"Yeah...you could say that."
"Well, I hope that it doesn't inhibit you because we're to secure this area and see if anyone has any information about what this is. In other words you're heading into the town while I set up base here. If you find anyone who has some information, contact me first before you start asking questions."
"You make it sound like I'm going to hurt them."
"You shattered someone's collar when they told you to go fuck yourself."
"....Fair point."
