Violet's POV
"You're the only good person in this entire house." I told Ash, while laying on the sofa in his room.
He looked at me curiously, "Did something happen with Hunter?"
"He is a bastard."
Ash nodded in agreement, "Yes, he is."
"Actually I wanted to ask you something, do you know if something happened to Chase? He was alright a while ago, pampering me and shit but now he wouldn't step a foot in the main house. He said to just let him know if I ever go out."
"Chase? I don't think- yeah I don't think I even know who that is." He sputtered.
I stared at him confused, "Well of course you know him. He is my bodyguard, you've met him, about yay high.." I raised my hand to describe his height, "...brown hair, hazel eyes and you could say he's kind of a handsome guy. Stands out."
"I don't really remember him." His face had grown red like a tomato and it looked like he was having a stroke.
"Are you okay? Do you feel hot?"
"Pfft..hot? Is that even word?" He let out a forced laugh that he always does when he's nervous.
I got up and joined him on the bed, "Are you hiding something from me?" Narrowing my eyes at him, I continued, "Were you doing drugs in Canada instead of studying?"
"Yes." he blurted out.
I stared at him open-mouthed, then laughed, smacking his shoulder, "You almost had me there."
He laughed back at me, " Did I?"
I smiled looking at him. He had grown so well, I still miss the little kid who used to follow Hunter and me everywhere. Now he was taller than me. My eyes moved to his hair and I grimaced, " Why would you dye your hair blond, I liked it better when it was black."
"You really don't hold back, do you?"
"It's a gift."
"I doubt it."
The door to his room opened and Hunter came in, "So, uh, I got your stuff from Cora's, you can stay in the guest room down the hall."
I'd rather not.
"I will stay with Chase." I replied, quickly denying his offer.
"No."
"No?"
"Yes, no. Want me to repeat again?" He asked coldly.
"Ash!" I shouted, without breaking eye contact with Hunter.
"Yes, V." He stood from the bed.
"I'm taking you out, get ready."
"Ash, sit back down, you're not going anywhere." His eyes bored into mine.
"Ash get up, I don't have all day." I snapped.
Ash let out a groan and got up again, "Why don't you both talk it out and then let me know."
"There's nothing to talk about." I hissed.
"Yes, there's nothing to talk about because you're not going anywhere."
I stood on my toes and looked him right in the eye, "Watch me." I spun around and grabbed Ash by his arm, "Toodles." I said, wiggling my fingers.
I could hear a frustrated sigh from behind when I dragged his little brother away with me.
"So where are we going?"
"To some club."
"But I'm wearing my home clothes." He whined stretching his black shirt.
"Dude, believe me, when I say you look great. Plus it probably will be dark in there."
The compliment worked like a charm, as his adorable smile lit up his face.

"There he is." I waved at Chase, beckoning him to where Ash and I were seated at the bar. I heard a coughing fit beside me, making me turn in concern.
"Are you okay?" I lightly patted him on the back.
"Never been better." He let out a weird laugh as I stared at him curiously. I dragged out an 'okay' before beaming at Chase who slid onto the stool next to mine.
"I would like you to meet Hunter's little brother, Asher. He is a lot better than his brother, you will like him." I turned to Ash, "This is Chase, I told you about."
"Why would I like him? I dont like him." Chase stated while Ash started laughing loudly. Thankfully the music drowned out his laugh.
What the hell!
"Are you both acting weird on purpose or something and Ash, honey, you seriously need to stop laughing like that, you sound like a psychopath on loose."
They both turned quiet.
"Let me order some drinks, maybe it will make you both human again."
I was right for most of the part, except now we all had started laughing like Ash. It was contagious.
With quite some force, Ash held is head above and slapped the table, "What's that thing called?" he mumbled.
I blinked at him, my head was buzzing like crazy, "What thing?"
"That thing which is like pshh pshh, you know, it is."
I smacked him on the shoulder," You just stopped talking."
He shook his head and downed another shot, "That thing which you shake and something comes out of it."
"Dick?" Chase offered. I burst out laughing while Ash shook his head with force.
I slapped both my hands on either sides of his face, holding his head in one place, "Stop, you might break your neck." I smiled stretching his cheeks.
Poking his dimples, I spoke, "Hey Chase, doesn't he have the cutest dimples ever?"
The guy just grunted in response, while Ash immediately pulled away from me.
I felt a hand on my waist. I turned to Chase, giving him a questioning look. His face had turned serious.
" Dude at 4'o clock, he's been looking at us for quite a while now."
That sobered me up a bit , as I discreetly tried to see the guy.
"You are looking in the opposite direction." He sounded amused. Okay, so maybe it didn't sober me.
I blinked several times to clear my vision and looked in the direction, Chase was hinting at. I squinted my eyes at the guy . I've seen him somewhere. Wait. I took Chase's hand and led him to the dance floor. I felt him stiffen and then relax as I placed my arms around his neck. Pulling him a bit down, I whispered into his ear, "That's one of the bodyguards from The Arch mansion, I've seen him with Dylan a few times."
We swayed to the music, Chase spun me around and then pulled me close, my back hitting his chest in the process. He bent down a bit to speak into my ear, "So, Hunter is keeping tabs on you."
I spun around to face him, my voice slurring as I spoke ," Let's give him something interesting to talk about then." Pulling him down by his collar, I collided my lips with his. I felt him freeze then slowly relax into the kiss as his hands moved to my waist, pulling me closer. I could taste the whiskey on tip of my tongue. Immediately pulling away, I took a step back before puking all over.
