Kuja's brain worked over time as he realized his younger sister was turning eighteen."She'll get over it. She may be a little late but this year is her year..the change is marked on the night of the fourth, with the luna Moon shade" I can't believe my sister would finally be a part of something bigger than her human life, the life she dolled since she was young. Grabbing a jacket, I could see her standing by the door, annoyed, and both arms crossed. She was pretty pissed. I laughed to myself, she was growing up, and it made me happy, though I'm sure our mom and dad would have been proud too. "Ready?" I tucked my arm around her shoulder and heard a gruff sigh from under my arm. She was ready and so was I " Heyyyy Krux, Justin Garon, You guys coming or what? I'm not missing the show this year because of you three slow asses, now hurry it up" I heard separate groans as each of my friends came into view, faces stuffed with leftover pizza. "Yea. We're ready.." I saw Justin give my sister a smile, an almost adoring one, that made my arm tighten a bit, before hearing a squeak. " Gahh.Kuja..you're crushing me.." She coughed for a few moments after I let her go, adjusting my jacket. " Sorry. But is everyone ready??" The four all groaned in unison, so we headed out the door and into the bright afternoon air.
The ride was miserable, I got stuck in the back seat between Krux and Justin, while Garon got to ride shotgun. Lousy bastard. He knew I always got shotgun. I never did do good with closed-in spaces, so the ride grew from miserable to sickening. I wanted to yack all over the place, but I managed to keep my cool when I realized to puke I had to lean over Justin or Krux, that just made me even madder at Garon, He would hear about this Later. We took all of 15 minutes of cramped solitude before we got to the beach. People were standing all around, putting up signs and concessions stands, banters, and all types of decoration. The fourth of July was taken seriously down here in Florida, and everyone loved it, including me. Getting out of the car was tricky, Justin had gotten out first, but I was so cramped and stiff from holding myself together, I almost fell out of the car. Luckily my brother caught me before I had time to embarrass myself like usual. " You know..you suck at not having any balance.." He stiffened a heartfelt laugh before patting my head. I had enough worries and he had to pat my head, adding to the Fuze of a chunky black sideways mess of hair I had on my head due to my ponytail. " gee thanks...Love you too bub.." This was a sour response and I could tell it hit a nerve in him because he turned around with an utter pain in his eyes. I felt bad but before I could apologize, Justin had looped his arm around My brother's shoulder, putting him into a headlock. " Is she ready for the change books??" All of my brother's friends were strange so figured what he said was nothing more than the guy-to-guy talk, but my brother thought otherwise. He elbows Justin square in the groin, All I heard as I turned to walk off was a heavy grunt and a low growl. Wait..a growl..? Kuja's voice was rough like something had nailed HIM between the legs. " She doesn't even know et so shut your trap. This night is supposed to be perfect for her. if you mess this up..I'll be taking it up with peacemaker and he won't be too happy to settle anything bloody.." His face hardened as he saw me looking at them, I was a little confused but shrugged it off once he smiled. Whatever it was, I'm sure it was no biggie, because my brother always seemed to have things under control. Like always he was the leader of his friends or so it seemed. They all sort of fell in line like zombies, and I'm not sure why, but it was pretty funny watching Krux and Garon wince at the mention of bloody battle. I thought they were into that type of stuff. I guess my judgment failed me again.
I could barely keep still as the sun sunk behind the water, It danced with crazy shades of orange and pink, I bet If Van Gough was here, He'd be in instant Nirvana. " Kuja..what exactly is going on tonight.." I couldn't help but shake that raw feeling like Something was being hidden from me. I needed to poke holes in people's words to find the truth, and that was never easy with my brother. " Well. Creed.. you are eighteen now, This is your first night as an adult.." He smiled, before crossing his arms, glaring over towards Justin, who was holding his hand over his groin protectively. I couldn't help but laugh, for my brother being the quiet type, he sure was intimidating to his friends, though they seemed to be more powerful than him. I guess size didn't matter because Kuja never lost a fight with any of his friends. The first wave of fireworks shot off into the sky and bloomed like a sky flower, I couldn't help but awe. Kuja let his arms wrap around my shoulder, smiling graciously. It was moments like this I enjoyed with my brother, because he showed emotions, and was normal. The fireworks continued to bloom with each blast before The beach was half-cleared of people, everyone sort of just scattered to have fun, I stayed on the beach while my brother and his friends lounged around the concession stands, munching on elephant ears and conies. I wasn't hungry, So I stayed behind watching the water.
Out of the corner of my eye, I felt eyes staring at me. I turned my head to look and saw a guy, gazing from across the concession stands, right at me, Like I was about to be his victim of murder. It terrified me, so I got up and went to my brother's side. " hey Kuja. Do you ever get the feeling? People are watching you..?" I had to voice my problem, but indirectly.." No why?" His face turned red as he talked, his mouth full of food, he sounded like someone was strangling him while he talked . " just curious.." I took a seat between My brother and Garon, He was quiet most of the time, but I preferred this seat compared to between my brother and Krux.
" Soo Missy. Are you having fun?" It was odd to hear Krux talk in a decent human voice for once, no roughness about him was present and it shocked me. " Yeah, I guess. It is better than last year, but it is still the same routine every year, and routine is boring " I shrugged, I knew the answer seemed blunt and to the point, but I was not worried to hurry our little pow wow at the tables, I knew somehow in the back of my mind, if I turned around, I would see that guy staring at me, he had a weird colored sense of eyes, like embers. " Oh..so you wish it was over then.." My brother said with a frown, he finally managed to swallow his food this time before he spoke. " no. I don't I just wish there was something different that would happen.." Just then Krux sat forward and leaned across the table, right at me " Oh pup...You have no idea.."
It was like a wave and then all of a sudden I was sick, I turned and heaved all over the pavement. I didn't know what time it was or where I was, I just remembered watching fireworks with my brother and his friends, then this. I felt horrible..and I burned like was on fire. What hell was happening to me? Did I get sick from the water? Or was my stomach that turned from..those eyes." Woah are you ok?"Kuja bent down to feel my forehead, his face was paler than normal." I don't feel good.." I felt crippled, so he picked me up, and his friends and I went back to the car, ready to head home. I obviously couldn't make it another hour here without dying, or so I thought. " We need to take her to Adrian, He will know" It was barely any time before I blacked out in the back seat. The ride was long, and I didn't feel car sick, I just felt sick period. Luckily, Garon let me have the front seat, though he wasn't willing, my brother ordered it, and like always, they all listened. We rode for a bit until I saw trees, After that, I blacked out.
