Mika was a young man who was 25 years old, he came from a military family and he had joined the Army at the age of 18. He was an only child and his childhood had been punctuated by the movements of his parents, he had lived from barracks to barracks in the most dangerous areas of the world.
He was educated in military schools, and his father and mother always made sure he had the best possible instructors in any field.
By the time he was 18 years old he had joined the Army, he was already an accomplished fighter, combat techniques had no secrets for him, neither did the use of firearms and knives, parkour had been his favorite sport since he was 6 years old and his mother had personally taught him all the basics to be a good hacker.
Only 3 months after he enlisted, he had received offers from all the intelligence and spy agencies that existed, but he finally chose to join the special forces of his country, and after he enlisted he only saw his parents occasionally.
At the age of 21 he accepted to set up his own team, they were all specialists in their field, explosives, weapons of all kinds, computers, new technologies, espionage...
They no longer had an identity, nor a military plate, they had become ghosts who took care of missions that no one else could carry out, their code name was, Shadow team.
Every time they came back from a mission, other missions were already waiting for them, and as time went by, these missions became more and more dangerous, until a member of his team cracked and decided to sell them out to their enemies for a small fortune.
Mika didn't suspect anything, they had been working together for 4 years and he had full confidence in each and every one of them.
By the time he realized that something was wrong, it was already too late, and his only chance to save the rest of his men was to hold back the bastards who had come to kill them for as long as possible, and to do that he had no other option than to sacrifice himself to give them enough time to get to safety.
Before he died, he still managed to kill the asshole who had preferred to betray them rather than simply leave his post and return to a normal military or civilian life.
Mika had never held back any of his team members, and they were all free to leave their posts after each of their missions, but for 4 years his team had never changed and the guys seemed content with the life they were leading.
This error of judgement had almost caused the death of all the members of the Shadow team, fortunately he had managed to avoid the worst.
Just before he died, he had flashbacks of his life, and although his life was short, he didn't regret any of his choices.
With his team they had saved countless lives and he was proud of what they had accomplished together... He felt that his end was near, his body was frozen and he was slowly losing his senses, his vision was getting darker, he couldn't hear or feel anything, and just before he sank into nothingness he thought that finally he was regretting something... He would have liked to fall in love, to start a family, to enjoy life a little more...
...........
Mika woke up with a horrible headache, it felt like his head was going to explode. After some effort, he finally managed to open his eyes and he realized that he was in a hospital bed.
However, there was no way he could have survived what had happened to him... Absolutely no way... Feeling a little lost, he finally looked towards the window and when he saw his reflection in the glass, he found it hard to believe at first.
The reflection was not his own, but that of a stranger.
He looked around the hospital room and when he saw the door to the bathroom, he got up carefully and except for some dizziness due to his headache, he didn't seem to be hurt.
After removing the IV he had on the back of his hand, he walked towards that door hoping to find a mirror behind it, and bingo, he thought, it was indeed the bathroom and there was indeed a mirror above the sink.
Mika looked more attentively at this face which was from now on his, and he didn't seem older than 18 years old, he had blue eyes like the color of an azure sea, short brown hair in a style that highlighted his facial features and he had to admit that he was pretty good looking.
Thanks to the mirror, he could see that he also had large shoulders and when he examined himself more closely, his biceps were also well developed and by palpating his stomach, he realized that this body seemed rather similar to his previous body, which was very good news.
As for the real color of his face, it was still to be determined, because for the moment he had a waxy complexion and he seemed rather weak.
Just as Mika was asking himself a thousand and one questions about who this young man was and why he was now in his body, his headache intensified and the memories of this young man invaded his own memory.
His nose began to bleed and he fell to his knees in pain. When he saw that it was impossible to stop the flood of memories from invading his memory, he gritted his teeth and waited anxiously for it to stop.
After a while, which seemed like an eternity, everything finally stopped and the pain diminished enough for him to understand what had just happened to him.
The young man to whom this body belonged had suddenly caught a violent fever and had apparently died from it, perhaps that was why his soul had managed to take over this body.
But that was not all, now that he had the memories of this body, he realized that this world was not his own.
Their standard of living was similar to what he had been used to, it was a modern world with all the comforts that went with it, but their energy source was completely different as was their technology.
When Mika understood where their energy source came from, he couldn't help but gloat, it was magic crystals... And the word that impressed him the most and made him gloat was the word magic.
