I paced restlessly. Where could it be? I searched the drawers, tables and even my closet but I found nothing.
Where could my bracelet be?. I can't sleep without it. I searched harder but still found nothing.
How could I have lost it when it's always on my wrist?. I can't be so careless. Or could it be I lost it at the the party?.
I frowned at the thought. I didn't even want to think about the possibility. I could barely remember what happened at the party either.
I only remember being locked in the freezer room. The doctor said it was nothing serious. That I would remember with time.
It would really help if I could remember now. Atleast I would if they have my bracelet or not.
Maybe they have it. But then how will I get it back?. I picked Honey and cuddled her. I hope the morning comes soon.
I sat on my bed and hugged myself tightly. I wish I had someone I could talk to. I checked the time and sighed.
Everyone's probably asleep. I didn't want to bother Mrs Rose and Shugar's out of town.
Canaan.
I sighed at the thought. He was back to his grumpy self. He wouldn't talk to me except it was absolutely necessary.
Other times, he would focus solely on his phone. I couldn't shake off the feeling he was going to get back at me for the frustration I put him through at the hospital.
I kept tossing on the bed until my phone rang. I checked the caller ID and groaned.
Speak of the devil! Why would he call me at this time?.
"Hello sir?" I answered.
"I want to see you" He said and ended the call before I could question him.
I grumpily got off my bed. It's bad enough I couldn't sleep all night and now he's calling me as well?.
I walked slowly to his room, thinking of the possible reasons he could have called.
What would someone want at 6am?.
His room was thankfully open but he wasn't downstairs. I took the stairs to the bedroom.
He was still in bed and the purple lights were on. I wasn't surprised. Everything in his room was purple.
"Sir you called" I spoke as soon as I stopped by his bed. He didn't bother to sit up.
"I need my blue slippers" He said and my jaw dropped in disbelief.
He called out just to ask for slippers. I looked down and his grey slippers were just by the bedside.
"But the… ."
"It's an order" He shut me up. I nodded and looked around.
Where am I supposed to find them now?. His room has so many doors. What does he need all that space for anyway?.
" Use the third door" He said and I nodded. I walked there and tried to open it but it was locked.
It needed a password, imagine that!
" Sir, your password?" I asked.
" Heart code" He said. Atleast that was what I heard. I typed it in and it blinked red. It's wrong?.
" Sir, it's wrong" I told him.
"Is that so? Try a different spelling then" He said dismissively. I typed Hatcode. It still blinked red.
" It isn't working " I groaned.
" It's H.A.R.T" He spelled and I was tempted to hiss. I typed it in and it still blinked red.
Seriously!
" It's not opening ".
" Did you space the two words? " He asked and I typed it in almost angrily. It still blinked red.
This is so frustrating!
" Why is it not working?" I asked in annoyance.
" Did you start the two words with capital letter?" He asked without a hint of concern in his tone. I typed it in.
Instead of opening, it blinked red. Too many attempts. It slid quickly to "verify fingerprint".
" Sir, it requires fingerprint" I said between gritted teeth.
" I'm not in the mood to stand. Swipe it" He said and I did.
Face scan? Seriously?! I swiped it. Insert pin.
" Sir, what's your pin? " I asked. I was beyond frustrated now.
" 2024" He replied. Atleast I thought it was that. I typed it in and it blinked red.
WHAT!!! I almost screamed. I had to wait for thirty seconds to try again.
" It isn't opening " I growled. What sort of over protection is this?. For common shoes at that!
"Try another way then" He said calmly and I almost pulled my hair.
I typed 0044, it blinked red. Another thirty seconds.
I typed 2044. It still blinked red. Another thirty seconds.
I typed 0024 and it finally opened. I sighed in relief.
I entered and gasped. The place was like a shoe paradise. Sparkling with different types of shoes. I finally found the blue slippers.
But it wasn't one. It was a whole rack of blue slippers with different designs. Which one does he want?.
I picked a pair and showed him, he rejected it. I picked another, he rejected. I picked up to twenty pairs and he rejected without even looking at it.
I was so angry and frustrated that I didn't notice when I kicked a rack in anger and all the shoes came crashing on me.
I pushed it off me and looked at the flood of red shoes, all designs mixed. Tears stung my eyes. Where do I start from?.
I glanced at the door to see him leaning against the door with a smirk.
"I see you got yourself busy for the day. It's almost as good as taking care of you, don't you think?. Hurry up and clear this mess, try not to mix the pairs, will ya?" He said and walked away.
I simply burst into tears.
