HINDUISM IS MY SOUL
City Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 1990,
Karthik Dewedi (Indian,
Engineer, age 35) is living happily in Saudi Arabia with his wife (Indian, Somaya dewedi, age 29) and two children, for 13 years.
Today karthik is very happy because today his father (Bishambar Nath Dewedi) is coming from India to Saudi Arabia to meet him, because he did not meet his father for 13
years after he shifting to Saudi Arabia, he used to talk only on the phone to his father and now he is going to pick up his father from the airport.
(Karthik receives his father from the airport, both are going home.)
Karthik`s father: - (looking at Karthik in anger) You have been in Saudi Arabia for 13 years, have you not got much time in 13 years, that once come to India to meet your father…
Karthik :- (sorry) Job, Family and children I did not get time to came India.
Karthik`s father :- What kind of clothes are you wearing ?..and why have you grown your beard so much?
Karthik :- Please dad, here everyone wears such clothes and stays like this and grow beard like this…
Karthik`s father :- Oh Really! Its only happen here, It doesn't happen in India…
Karthik :- (laughing )… because it's not India dad, it's Saudi Arabia..
(Kartik and his father reach home)
The very next day, Karthik tells his wife that I have some people coming from office for a meeting at home,
After that the Employees of Karthik's office reach Karthik's house for office meeting.
And they start calling Karthik by the name of Aslam, In front of Karthik's father .
Karthik's father replies to all them that his name is not Aslam, his name is Karthik.
Karthik at the same time tell and request his father to go to his room.
All Employees of Karthik's office leave the house after finishing the meeting, after that Karthik`s father comes to Karthik in anger…
Karthik`s father :- ( Angry) Why all were your office`s employees calling you as Aslam?
Karthik :- (replied) …That's when I came in Saudi Arabia and i changed my name, and everyone here knows me as Aslam alam… what so big deal …. You are overreacting now …
Karthik's father :- (shocked and angry) .. what so big deal..
Karthik :- Dad please! I had to do this, I had to converted my religion to Hindu religion to muslim (Mohamdan) religion to work, to live here.. Because this country is Muslim dominating society… If I want to work here I have to be like them ..
Karthik`s father :- I can't believe that you are my son, you have changed your identity, you have changed your religion, for a person his religion is his soul, and you killed your soul.
Karthik :- please dad, how long will you be stuck in India, Religion and caste are all a label for a person…
Karthik`s father :- (angry) I will not stay in Saudi Arabia for even 1 minute, please book my return ticket for India, Because, a Hindu father had come here from India to meet his Hindu son whose name Karthik, this is a Muslim man`s house whose name is Aslam alam , I cannot stay here.
Karthik :- Dad, Please try to understand …I need to live here, to earn because both my children study in expensive school and have to bear the expenses of the house here..I never needed religion to live, and my religion will not give me earning, I will have to earn…
Karthik`s father :- just book my tickets to back india..
Karthik :- Ok , I am booking your ticket after a week.
Next day when karthik came at home from his office, he Saw his two children sitting and studying with his father.
Karthik :- Oh that so great, that my two little sons are studying with his grandfather, so what did you study all day today?..tell me
Karthik`s father :- ( being sarcastic) Nothing, I was telling in the my grandsons about The Prithvi Raj Chauhan, the last Hindu King, I was telling the stories of his greatness.
You do know who ,Prithvi Raj Chauhan was, so tell your children…..
Karthik :- please dad, you are being sarcastic now, you are taunting me for no reason..
Karthik`s father :- I am not taunting you, just thought that after 5 days I will go to India, before going to India, tell my grandson and the value of our Hindu Religion.
Karthik :-please dad, Why do you keep giving me such taunt, time and again I have changed only my name and religion, ..what so big deal…
Karthik`s Father :- (replied ) I am not taunting you, but remember that the man who is not faithful to his religion and his roots, that person can`t be loyal to anyone in the world.
Karthik :- Please! this ideology of your , I don't understand.
After two days, news comes on TV that the Government of Saudi Arabia has announced that, only those people who are residents of this country will be left alive and those who are people of other country, neither go back to their country or else they will be killed here.
Genocide situation has arisen in Saudi Arabia. All the Indian families and other countries people were afraid and panic. And the announcement will start happening in the street, then you will go to your country,
or then you will be killed here, otherwise you will start calling yourself Saudi Arabian.
Everyone was very scared that if we came out, we would be killed, because of this fear all the families were hiding in your house.
Due to this fear, Karthik and his family were hiding in their house for two days.
When the Indian Government got the news of this Genocide, the Indian Government contacted the Saudi Arabian Government, and said that tomorrow morning our plane will reach by air to pick up our all Indian in our.
The Saudi Arabian government has announced that tomorrow morning all the Indians who are there reach the airport, where the plane coming from their country will take them to their country safely.
All Indian family gathered in a hall at one place to save their lives for one night, In the hope that tomorrow morning the plane will come from our country to take us and we will also reach in our country safely.
Every Indian who were present in hall raised their hands and started remembering God and started praying and offering Nawaz.
Karthik also started remembering God by standing among them and would raise his hands like offering namaz.
When closed he his eyes and started offering Namaz and closed his eyes and started remembering the God
When he closed his eyes that he unknowingly started reading the
(" MANGAL BHAWAN AMANGAL HARI, DRABHU DASHARATH AJAR BIHARI
RAM – SIYA, RAM – SIYA, SIYA - RAM JAI JAI " )
( The Lord Rama chopai, the prayer of lord Rama).
Everyone started looking towards Karthik, all the Hindus families who were present there along with Karthik`s families started praying and singing
"MANGAL BHAWAN AMANGAL HARI, DRABHU DASHARATH AJAR BIHARI
RAM – SIYA, RAM – SIYA, SIYA - RAM JAI JAI"
( Lord Rama Chaupai,the prayer of Lord Rama), and the whole hall resonated
And Karthik`s father started looking towards Karthik,
he could not believe seeing that his son was singing (Ram chopai) of Lord Rama.
Kartik's father gets so emotional and seeing him, and told him "No matter how hard you try to remove Hinduism from within you, but Hinduism cannot come out of you".
Karthik Gets so emotional and hugs his father, and tell I tried a lot to run away from my religion and change my religion, but today
I am convinced that, "Religion is the mirror of a person, Religion is the soul of man, he cannot kill his own soul".
In the next morning planes from India reach Saudi Arabia and bring everyone back to their country safely.
After reaching safely in his country at Delhi Airport, karthik`s father looked at karthik and hold his hand gave reference of "RAMAYANA" (The Saga of Lord Rama) and tell me that "After 14 years of exile, my Rama returned to Ayodhya today"
And the Story ended with that
