*Emily's Pov*
She ushered me out the door and I followed her down the halls. As we walked the halls toward the doctor's ward, I felt light-headed but also light on my feet. Giddy even at the prospects of having my own bundle of joy to share with Samson. The fact that my father would be here in a day or so made me feel nervous yet excited. If I was, I would happily share my news and joy with those I loved.
My nerves and emotions spiraled in my head as we made our way into the infirmary. There we were greeted by a nurse she was short and petite with light brown hair in a bob cut. she greeted us and bowed to queen charlotte and asked, "how can I help and what brings you in for a visit your majesties?" charlotte smiled and said, "Well Emily hasn't been feeling well we needed to make sure she was taking proper care of herself" the nurse smiled "of course miss Emily can you tell me the symptoms you've been having." I was directed to an office room and there I told her of my sickness lightheadedness and she this took my pulse blood pressure and temperature she then asked me to take a cup and use the bathroom when I came back out, she took some blood as well.
While they ran tests, they had a feeder for me, and I ate and patiently waited. The wait was forever both I and charlotte had eaten off the feeder before the doctor finally came in the little room, we had been placed in. Really it was only twenty minutes before the doctor came. "Hello, Emily seems we weren't feeling well today?" I nodded "hello doctor Lebedinsky actually for this whole week," I said embarrassed I had waited this long to say anything at all. "Well let's take a look at what's going on shall we," he said looking at his paperwork. "Emily, will you lift your shirt off your stomach were going to take a listen and possibly a look today yah." I raised my shirt finding this all curious as to what the doctor planned or even meant. Once I had my shirt out of the way he placed warmed jelly on my stomach then took a wand that was attached to a TV screen and placed it on my stomach.
I watched in shock as they turned a monitor on which the cord to the wand was attached. I watched as once the wand was placed on my belly the screen showed a tiny black and white picture. The picture held what looked like a small dinosaur-like shape. It looked so beautiful so fragile and what I knew of humans older for me to be just finding out I was pregnant. The picture took my breath away and for reasons, I couldn't explain nor emotions I could, yet I started to cry seeing the beauty in the picture. The doctor took pictures and then handed them to me they then gave me napkins to clean my belly off from the jelly.
After I cleaned off the doctor asked, "Emily what do you know of vampire pregnancies and births?" I shook my head I knew nothing seeing my blank expression the doctor proceeded "hmm I thought so with what I've heard from you of your story. Alright, Emily as you know humans have children in nine months well a vampire's gestation is quite a bit different. Much like werewolves we only have a sixth-month gestation meaning your pregnancy lasts only six months. The process to have a child is much accelerated but with vampires, we also have high risks. So though physically you may have only been pregnant for about two to four weeks your baby is about eight to ten weeks in growth. So, you must listen very carefully during this time.
I listened to the doctor while I stared at the sonogram picture in amazement, I struggled through to listen and follow all that the doctor was saying as I stared at my baby. I tried making mental notes here and there, but I was very distracted "births for vampire mothers and even pregnancies can be very hard as the body doesn't adapt well. With that being said I need you to follow my directions I'm going to need you to rest as much as possible for the next few weeks don't overwork your emotions or your physical self. You understand Emily?" I looked at doctor Lebedinsky and replied "I understand thank you doctor for the instructions.
