As the sapphire sped across the vast expanse of the Cosmos, Winlu was inside a small pocket dimension inside the sapphire. He could look out over a vast expanse of a small ocean from the isolated island he was on. He felt the warmth of the small artificial sun beating down on his face and smelled the seawater from a distance.
"Hmm" Winlu was focused on his virtual desktop inside his consciousness. He had long come to terms with absurd things happening so his being transported to this island only shocked him for a few minutes before he recovered. He was getting better at not being surprised.
The virtual desktop had the application of [Unnamed Realm] opened. He could clearly see that this menu was like a strategic game menu. He could view the map of his territory and add units to it. He could add all kinds of things to his territory.
It also showed that he needed to create the 'chosen race' of his world. If his chosen race was ever completely wiped out, his territory would die and he would be unable to continue. However, there was just one problem... in his entire territory, there were only plants! His world was completely devoid of animal life. So he would need to figure out a way to get around this. He couldn't select the trees to be his 'chosen race' right? He glanced at the Realm name tab that was prompting him to enter the name of his territory.
"Should I name it as something from a cultivation novel?" Winlu asked out loud. But then he shook his head.
"I'll just call it something meaningful to me. Hardworking, diligence is rewarded, and hmm ignoring the scum and ascending the heavens." Winlu blushed slightly in embarrassment for uttering that. He didn't have very thick skin to just say stuff like that so easily.
"Forget it, I'll just call it Ablemar." He entered the name of the world that he thought of with barely any effort and the name of the application changed on the desktop to [Ablemar Realm Manager]. Next, he needs to solve the 'chosen race' issue.
'Perhaps I could manipulate some of the plants into becoming humanoid?' Winlu thought. Actually, this wasn't a bad idea, he had the DDK software so perhaps he could somehow manipulate the attributes of some plants to gain human traits. He Installed the latest DDK (0.5) and opened up the IDE software for writing code. He glanced at the tokens he had in the token bar, his gaze stopping on the White Heavenly Lotus token.
'I forgot I had those!' He exclaimed as he pulled out 10 White Lotus flowers from his pockets. With these, he had an install location and the lotus flowers didn't seem ordinary either. Perhaps he would select a strong 'chosen race' after all. He laid the white lotus flowers out on the ground in front of him before sitting down. He concentrated on his virtual desktop and started programming a few lines by adding interacting variables to the token of White Heavenly Lotus.
This time, he didn't add all 14 Variables like before. He just added: man, plant, yin, yang, and art. He tried to order them differently, hoping that the order of execution of the variables and their connections to each other would not cause an explosion. He placed yin and yang variables parallel to each other at the top, with art connecting to them both in the center, and finally man and plant which were parallel like yin and yang at the bottom. The code looked like a small hourglass inside the White Heavenly Lotus token container. The code didn't show any errors so Winlu tried running it. It showed it needed 220 Spirit Qi strings to run.
*Woosh*
The virtual space shook as a humanoid body condensed inside the simulated virtual space. The humanoid had arms and legs like a human, but its skin was textured like the lotus flower leaves and its hair was green. Its eyes were a bit disturbing as they were a brown-yellow. It was only about 155' tall, which was quite short. However, Winlu didn't mind because now he was taller than them!
Winlu looked across the humanoid he had made with his DDK (0.5) and nodded lightly. He prepared to export the code into a white lotus flower on the ground. He made sure to be ready to hurl it into the ocean if it was about to explode.
'I hope this works.' he thought as he selected the installation source.
*Woosh*
The surrounding Spirit Qi was pulled into the lotus flower as the installation commenced. The flower slowly started changing as it grew humanoid limbs and appeared almost exactly as the simulation showed, with few minor differences. The body finished forming and there seemed to be no explosions.
"Huh... well I expected more" Winlu's mouth twitched but he didn't linger on his feelings. He installed his code into the other 9 white lotuses with some minor tweaks. In the first 5 he adjusted the yang variable to be higher than the Yin and in the last 5, he did the opposite. That let him create 5 female and 5 male of these flower humans. The bodies laid there breathing lightly, but they didn't wake up yet.
Winlu saw on his virtual desktop there was a prompt to name his 'chosen race' after he had selected these creatures he made. He just called them Flowans (Fl-oow-ans). He selected them as the chosen race and confirmed the option in the menu.
*Beep* *Ding*
A ding sounded and he glanced at another notification on his desktop.
<< Physique Mesh Editor application has gained a new token race for editing >>
Winlu ignored the message, because of the phenomena that just started to occur in his current location. Golden heavenly light condensed from the sky above his island and the large ocean. It was so vast and expansive that he couldn't see the end of it. It flowed down like a golden mist and landed on him and the 10 Flowans he had created.
'Erm.. perhaps I could install the Flowan program on myself?' Winlu thought as he looked at the graceful-looking Flowans he had made. He probably had no talent to cultivate since he came from Big Earth. He would need to alter his body or change his race to one that could cultivate and he had to admit that adding the Art variable was a good idea for aesthetic purposes. They had a natural grace and beauty about them that felt artistic. Would they inspire artists? Did he create an artistic race just now?
Winlu felt a headache coming on. If he had created an art-loving race, how would he defend against invaders of his territory?
"*Sigh*, I'll deal with things as they come up. I'm only human." He muttered lightly.
He then bit his finger and swallowed his human blood so that he could get a Human Token container. He wired up the variables inside the human container in the same way how the Flowans were created and ran a few tests with it. The simulated run showed that he would end up looking just like the Flowan race and he was pleased.
"Good good" He nodded and he started the installation source on himself.
*Woosh*
The Spirit Qi surged around him as he could feel his body being ripped apart and changed. He felt like he was in the most pain he had ever experienced in his life and completely regretted his idea of changing his race assuming he couldn't cultivate. His height started to change along with his skin, but something was different. He was growing taller! Much taller! He was already at 2 meters in height and was continuing to grow. His arms were thickening and voraciously sucked in the Spirit Qi in the surroundings. Out of the tops of his shoulder blades grew two naturally forming lotus flower buds. His eyes changed to a teal-white colored pupil and his palms were a dark blue. His sweat pants and sweat shirt had long ripped open from his size change.
Winlu didn't realize these changes as he was gritting his teeth with his eyes closed trying hard not to pass out from the pain. The process lasted another fifteen seconds before it settled down. Thankfully, his body didn't explode, but Winlu's transformation was much different than the Flowans. He was now 2.5 meters tall and had arms and legs as thick as small tree trunks. His skin had the silky white look and texture of the lotus flowers, but his palms were a dark blue, and his hair was silver-white instead of green.
He opened his eyes and looked at his surroundings in confusion. His point of view was way higher than before and he realized how small the Flowan people were compared to him now. He held his hand out and felt the texture of his skin curiously.
<< A new Physique for the Flowan race has been cataloged in Physique Mesh Editor >>
"Why was there so much of a difference when installing the program? Damn, the DDK simulation is really unreliable." Winlu's eyes widened as he imagined himself exploding and he shivered.
'Never again will I install anything on me unless my life is at stake!' he swore to himself.
He was about to check on the newly cataloged Physique in his [Physique Mesh Editor] when the 10 Flowans woke up. They looked around curiously without speaking a word. Their gazes slowly looked each other up and down. The women flowans curiously poked the men flowan's shoulders and the men flowan's poked the women flowan's chests...
"Ayy, stop that be civilized!" Winlu couldn't help but comment as the men were poking some of the private areas of the women without any knowledge of social practices. The flowans looked up from their poking and were startled by the deep and resounding voice from what looked like a giant to them.
"Awa"
"Ed civil-iiii"
"Alsasana aana"
The flowans made a few mimicking attempts with their mouths as they produced sound just like Winlu had. They excitedly started smiling and making all sorts of sounds and facial expressions. Winlu had no experience with any of this, his chosen race was no more than newborn babies right now. How could he teach them how to speak, write, mathematics, and cultivation... he was starting to get annoyed at the thought of babysitting them.
"Damn it! If only there was a way where I could just send them my knowledge of basic education." Winlu rubbed his temples to alleviate the slight headache.
'Wait, if there isn't a technique for that yet, I can just create one!' he excitedly shouted in his mind. Of course, he had no idea how to do that. All he knew of his DDK's functions was to install programs he made... it looked like it altered the function of the sources and it wasn't a technique-creating application. He quickly opened up the [Pearl Music Sheet] and the [Physique Mesh Editor] to get an understanding of their usage.
The [Physique Mesh Editor] looked like it only collected and cataloged unique Physiques. It integrated with the Heavenly Dao above him and let the Physiques be added and adapted to a race from the token collection. It also allowed him to make slight changes to the Physiques with an editor tool.
The [Pearl Music Sheet] was completely different. It was a music art technique composition software. He could create music programmatically and install the final solution directly into his mind. The songs in the studio could simulate the Dao Resonance and somewhat predict the composed Dao Song's effects.
'It is possible to create a technique to transfer knowledge or speed up their development, but I've never composed any songs before. I'm just a programmer.' Winlu smiled self-deprecatingly. His thoughts were interrupted by an extreme feeling of tiredness that washed over his very being. He yawned loudly.
"Forget it, let's sleep first." He laid on his back on the ground quietly and drifted off to a night of deep sleep in a few minutes. The flowan people also curled up beside him and slept as the artificial sun went down inside the pocket dimension.
