After about thirty minutes of sitting in a diner with Lucas. Jessie found out that he was a real estate lawyer at a big firm in New york. He was on paid leave by the firm to rest. He normally overworked himself.
That was something the two had in common. He was older than her with a few years but he still had a young outlook on life
Throughout the somewhat date all Jessie could think about was how well he could help distract her from Xavier and he was.
The date ended on a good note. He insisted on driving her home. She refused because it meant that he had to call an uber home since he was going to be driving her car and not his. Despite her refusal, he pushed and ended up driving her home.
"So this is it" Jessie said to him as they stood in front of her front door.
"Yeah" he murmured, his eyes lingered from her eyes to her lips as he spoke
She smiled as she noticed his gaze
"You should get going. It's late"
