He gave her a promise ring, she thought that it meant something, turns out it was all talk. So what if they weren't going to see each other for four years. They could video call and talk everyday, if she was okay with the long distance, why wasn't he?
Jessie found it hard to bounce back after the break up. Riley was by her side the whole time but when it was time to go off to college, they parted ways.
Riley's parents didn't want her going as far as another continent, so Jessie was on her own. She went off to college, alone and heartbroken.
The first few weeks, Jessie was so reserved and withdrawn. She didn't seem to care about anything. Xavier wasn't picking her calls or replying to her texts. She knew they were broken up but she thought that if they just had a chance to speak, she could make him see that they didn't have to end things.
