Without thinking, Jessie picked up her bag and walked outside. She couldn't run to the party, she wouldn't get there on time. She looked around. Her father's car looked at her.
The thought of driving made her skin crawl but the thought of Jasmine doing whatever she wanted to do scared her more. She rushed into her house and searched her parents room for the car keys. She found it quickly.
She sat in the driver's seat and thrust the key into the keyhole. She knew exactly how to drive a car. She had watched her parents and her friends drive for a while and had gotten the basics down but the only time she tried to drive, she had an accident and she hadn't tried since then.
Until now. She switched on the ignition and began to drive. Once she was on the road, she felt free enough to increase the speed of the car. She arrived at Liam's house in five minutes.
