Chapter 10 - Campus World

Hu Ying took screenshots of the diary - especially all the key suspicious moments he had and then sent it to his friend. Unfortunately for him, his phone was also being monitored by Wang Xi and immediately after he sent the information to his friend, Wang Xi also had a copy of it in ultra HD. After sending the picture, Hu Ying pretended that he was confused about some sort of drama 'script;' so he asked a good friend of his who was studying drama to analyse the 'plot' for him. His good friend had no clue about this 'script' so this method didn't work at all for Hu Ying. Wang Xi, on the other hand, understood more than Hu Ying a little boy. From the screenshots, he knew that both Chen Jiayin and Xiao Weiwei were involved in the rape incident but he didn't know the entire plan. 'If l can find some more substantial evidence, l can get the police involved!'

Xiao Weiwei's plan was seamless - there was no way the plot would allow her to go to jail since she was destined for a mental hospital. She made sure that no one investigating could link her to the incident. She was confident but Chen Jiayin herself was extremely nervous.

She didn't know why but suddenly, her parents started coming home very late everyday - sometimes they would not even come home for days and this made her very scared. As surgeons, they had to be on call but somehow her instincts told her this was different. Chen Jiayin thought that her plan was seamless but middle school children would always be able to expose some shortcomings in their plans. For her, it was her safehouse surveillance. It was normal for Chen Jiayin not to think that this surveillance would be checked because the safehouse was very remote and no one knew that her family owned it so she was careless. She never knew that she'd met the heroine's assist Wang Xi.

As all the deep schemes were being discovered, everyone went to school as normal but there wasn't as much of a relaxed atmosphere as before. All the students were subtly aware of the fact that something was wrong when several students in class continued to be absent. Of course, no one knew why and it caused a lot of speculation. Xiao Weiwei also felt that the atmosphere was not right so she actively listened to some girls behind her gossiping.

"It's shocking to see that Lin Hufei, Peng Shuyan and Ding Qianyi are all not here today! They were all the ones with the loudest background in the class and all of them haven't come to school for a week now."

Another girl replied: "Hey..maybe they're all ill or something? it's not uncommon for an entire friendship group to all fall sick at the same time since they spend so much time together." But this opinion was rejected by the other girls around her.

"Maybe they offended someone?", a scholarship student mused and the girls around her also felt this could be the case. It wasn't uncommon for big families to go bankrupt overnight because of competitors and this affected the children even more than the parents. It's harder to go from rich to poor than the reverse - the gap in treatment is hard for many children to bear and most end up committing suicide or living in obscurity forever.

But of course, the girls smiled in schadenfreude and one of them replied: "If that's the case, then it is well deserved! They were all domineering and bullying people everywhere!"

Xiao Weiwei rolled her eyes and stopped listening to their musings. It wasn't that she didn't agree but having a domineering and arrogant personality cannot be blamed on the child but their parents. The teacher came in and the entire class quietened because this was not normal. Normally during self study, the class monitor would be the invigilator not the teacher so that the class wouldn't be rigid. The teacher pulled out a list and called out a bunch of names including Xiao Weiwei and invited them to the principal's office. At the same time, everyone got a notification on the school forum but none. of them would dare check with the teacher still there.

Only Xiao Weiwei was calm from the beginning and showed no special reaction on the surface when her name was called. But she was slightly nervous since things had already come this far. She was also scared of campus violence. The system laughed when it saw Xiao Weiwei's trembling fingers: "Shouldn't evil be punished? You were so confident before, why are you looking like a weak chicken now? And let me just say this - the suffering in this trial world is barely anything so don't worry - your pain tolerance will increase soon and your shamelessness will also increase."

But Xiao Weiwei wasn't comforted. She didn't feel good being blamed for doing things she was forced to do - if she had a choice, she also wouldn't have done this. The system forced her and she could only obey. If the system heard these thoughts, it would've sneered! Most human beings take the opportunity to live but when the price to pay is too high, suddenly, they blame the people who gave them that same opportunity. It's not as though the system couldn't sense Xiao Weiwei's unwillingness and discomfort but so what? It'd been through many hosts all with different personalities, backgrounds, ideologies and they all still bowed down to the power of the system. 'If you made the choice, then live through the consequences.'

All the boys and girls whose names had been called all walked to the principal's office silently. They didn't say a single thing but they all tacitly understood that they weren't called for anything good. The girl at the front then knocked on the door and the principal got up to open it. Inside, both Wang Xi and Ye Miaomiao had already taken a seat so the rest of the students could only stand to the side in a group. The principal then sat down and cleared his throat. No one spoke since everyone was waiting to hear what the problem was.

Soon, more students from other classes also joined and there were about 50 people in total that all stood in a group. Both Ye Miaomiao and Wang Xi also stood up from their seats and walked to the wall opposite the students. One student couldn't bear it anymore so he asked: "Headteacher, why have we been called here today?" The principal sighed: "Because, you've all been reported for campus violence, bullying a minor and inciting rape. These individual charges do not apply to everyone but all the people here were involved in some way and none of you can escape some liability." The principal had a headache because most of the students called all had backgrounds and he didn't want to offend them but who told them to have less power than Wang Xi?

Hard hit by the principal's words, most of the students sneered and didn't speak. Campus violence? This kind of charge was easy to shirk - just pay some money to the school and the school record would be changed. No one took the principal seriously - even one of the girls whispered: "I thought this was a serious matter! Turned out to be this? A waste of my time!" Ye Miaomiao glared at the girl who said this but the girl didn't care - she smirked back. Only Xiao Weiwei and Hong Lili remained silent - Xiao Weiwei because she knew the matter wouldn't end easily and Hong Lili because she was wondering why her grandfather was at school. Yes, Wang Xi was Hong Lili's maternal grandfather. Hong Lili squinted at Ye Miaomiao and then felt as though she resembled someone she knew. Seeing the students being so unrepentant, Wang Xi also wanted to understand why the quality of children decreased these days. He never said anything to the students directly and just placed a stack of papers neatly next to the principal.

The principal wanted to shirk but Wang Xi didn't give him a chance: "Give these papers out to each student." The principal got up and followed directions - each sheet of paper had a name on it and no paper was the same. Each time a student got a paper, they paled and quaked in fear. Xiao Weiwei checked her own paper and saw a list of all the bad things Hu Weiwei had done - everything from having the accursed diary to instigating Chen Jiayin exposing Ye Miaomiao's life experience was included in this list. Such a sheet of paper ruthlessly cut off the students' pride because it showed that Wang Xi already investigated everyone thoroughly. From the corner of her eye, Xiao Weiwei also saw that Hong Lili had more than one sheet of paper and her mouth twitched. She didn't know that Hong Lili suppressed Ye Miaomiao that much.

Once Wang Xi ruthlessly slapped all the students in the face, he now gave a sweet jujube: "Everyone now knows that l have your pigtails in my hand. If anyone so much as beeps, l can ruthlessly pull you and your parents down. You all know how important reputation is. But, l can compromise with one thing. To quell my anger, you can all vote for one person to be exposed on the school forum so that everyone knows Ye Miaomiao is not easy to bully. Who that person is, is up to you." Wang Xi dropped a bomb and these students all looked warily at each other. Voting for one person to be hit meant ev

Everyone had the opportunity to deal with their parent's enemies and competitors. Don't look at these students and think they were ignorant - they also had a thorough understanding of their families and their enemies. They all looked at Hong Lili for some direction since she had the strongest background. If she made a decision, then the person pushed out would only hate Hong Lili and wouldn't find anyone else to settle grievances. Hong Lili also sharpened her fingers and pointed straight at Xiao Weiwei.

Xiao Weiwei resisted rolling her eyes and never said a word after she was pushed out. Ye Miaomiao was also disappointed that the person she thought was a good friend turned out to be plotting against her so viciously. Wang Xi also noticed that Xiao Weiwei was calm and frowned. 'This child is so calm like as if they expected this to happen. Does she have more tricks?' Still, he abided by what he's said and send a secret code to his subordinates. Again, all the students in the school received a notification on the school forum and no one could resist checking what the new news was. Two eye catching posts were pinned on the hot page with one being about Xiao Weiwei being in love with her brother and the other being about Xiao Weiwei bullying Ye Miaomiao.

The first post was indeed posted by Wang Xi's subordinates who released detailed information about Xiao Weiwei being behind the scenes and Hu Ying's post followed right after because he was in a rage after reading how much Xiao Weiwei targeted Ye Miaomiao. So many students replied below the post cursing Xiao Weiwei for being vicious and malicious at such a young age. Others scolded her for letting others take the blame while she was the one guiding people to hate Ye Miaomiao. There was such an uproar on the school forum that it temporarily crashed for a while and no one could post anything. Not only had current students replied but also alumni in various positions and jobs also had things to say. With their connections, Xiao Weiwei was blocked from entering many industries - she'd fallen from heaven and became the scourge of many people.

Xiao Weiwei felt very uncomfortable being blamed for all of this and she wanted to cry but she knew that no one would comfort her. She felt that it was unfair that this villain system existed - what was the point of being scolded and belittled when it wasn't her feelings or her doing. The system wanted to laugh when it saw Xiao Weiwei's discomforts: "But wasn't it you who did all this? It's true that it was a plot but didn't you willingly follow the system's directions? You can only blame your bad luck being bound to a system like me."

The principal called Xiao Weiwei's parents and told them to come and discuss her involvement in campus violence. Not to mention Hu Lin, even Song Xia was dumbfounded when she was called and none of them knew that Xiao Weiwei was like this. After taking leave from work, only Song Xia rushed to the school to understand what was going on. At this point, all the other students had been sent home and suspended for two weeks but only Xiao Weiwei had a harsher punishment.
