Ever since they hired an ice delivery man, the first ice delivery man who came back from town every day would help their family buy vegetables from the market.
It wasn't time for that person to come back from buying groceries yet.
There were already quite a few people on the vast paddy field. They were either people who had picked out rice to dry or people who were waiting at the paddy field to help their families dry their rice. There were also some older people and children lounging around. These people were helping to chase away the birds so that they wouldn't steal the rice that was being dried. The village chief had already allocated the spots for each family to dry their rice, so there was no need to fight over it. It was quite orderly.
The size of the rice drying position was not the same for each household. Instead, it was divided according to the number of rice grains planted by each household.
