Chereads / Subduing The Devil Overlord / Chapter 154 - Anything

Chapter 154 - Anything

"What the fuck do you mean? Have you both lost your mind?" screamed the silver-haired woman, the barely visible wrinkles on her face deepening as she heaved up and down in her rage.

Her subordinates were dumber than she had thought.

"We are not lying, My Queen," Diana said calmly, having dealt with this tantrum many times previously. "There has been no sighting of her or him anywhere."

"So what you're saying is that they both vanished off the surface of this Earth?!"

Alastor flinched, hesitating to take a step back and looking at Diana for support. Like always.

Diana bowed down slightly. "I'll go myself this time. I won't fail you again."

Alastor copied her posture and clenched his jaw when Isabella's stone-cold eyes shifted to him.

"And you. Forget about the girl, you lost your chance because of your idiocy."

His blood roared in his veins at her words. Stepping forward, he snarled out the words syllable by syllable.

"If she can't be mine, she can't be anyone else's."

"We'll see about that." Isabella rolled her eyes feeling bored and waved her hand to indicate their dismissal when the door was abruptly pushed open.

A maid blundered in, her eyes darting around frantically until they finally landed on her Queen. Taking a reluctant step forward, she flinched when Isabella shouted, "What's the matter now?"

Davina nodded at her to speak and the maid slowly parted her mouth to start speaking.

"A-Actually Your Majesty, the case is, three women j-just arrived in the throne room—"

Alastor's eyes widened as Isabella hurriedly got around from her table and walked past the maid, ignoring her completely. Diana and Alastor followed behind, quick on their feet as they brushed their hands over their clothes and tidied up their hair.

The guards opened the door, and it didn't go amiss that their faces were pale and hands were shaking terribly. The trio walked inside together in formation and their eyes immediately traveled to the throne.

The throne room had been in dire need to be built again after the chaos Theodore had spread inside her precious room. How brutally he had broken her throne which was the only thing she had cared for all her life.

The new throne was not as majestic as her previous one but it only made her blood flare up when she noticed all three of the Fate's sitting down on it together.

Edeline and Estella sat on the armrests while Elena sat in the middle, her legs crossed as her blood-red lips tilted up into a smirk at seeing them.

"Ah, finally. What took you so long?" Estella burst out like a spoiled kid throwing a tantrum but shut her mouth when Elena glared at her sideways.

They both slid off the throne, their gowns made of a material to which none of the Kingdoms had access. Isabella internally cursed Asher for sending them to her instead of talking to them by himself.

When she was Queen, she would make sure to teach them all a lesson...

"A pleasure to finally meet you, Your Grace." Isabella bowed down and managed to glimpse the satisfied, arrogant smirks that betook their faces at her submission.

"Asher informed us that you had some information that you would like to disclose to us. As you might know, we don't have all day to sit here on your throne." Elena stated, her sharp eyes traveling from Alastor and then gliding sideways toward Diana.

"The matter is quite confidential so it would be easier to explain if you allow us to escort you to the meeting room. It would be hard for you to stand the whole time, right?" Diana spoke with an experienced smile gracing her features and Edeline rolled her eyes at the subordinate.

"Lead the way then." Elena walked forward, her two sisters following her close behind with their heads held high, posture regal and clothes unworthy of a speck of dust daring to defile them.

Isabella quickly stepped forward, signaling Diana and Alastor to accompany her too. She led them to a massive room that had been specifically partitioned off from the rest of the castle just for creatures like the Fates.

The door closed behind them and when Isabella turned around, she couldn't help but grit her teeth at the disrespect she was getting despite being Queen. Elena had once again seated herself in the topmost chair which had been hers to use on all occasions. Edeline and Estella were placed on either side of the throne leaving only two couches remaining in the middle of the room.

Diana nudged Alastor to sit with her so that Isabella could get the remaining couch to herself. He silently heeded her and after everyone was seated, Isabella wasted no time in getting straight to the topic.

"Haven't you wondered why Theodore has been so distant since the last time you met with him? That too months ago?"

Estella immediately stood up, all eyes moving in her direction as she clenched her fists and her eyes flashed with something Isabella instantly recognized.

Jealousy.

Burning envy.

She internally smirked. If Estella knew what was happening behind her back, she would make sure to deliver Eva to her so that she could distance her away from Theodore.

"Sit down," Elena muttered, her eyes focused on Isabella with curiosity plainly visible in her posture. Placing her hands on both sides of the chair, she leaned forward.

"What would you know about that?"

Isabella looked down, smiling. "I know more than you think I know. But I wonder what I would get in exchange for the information I'm going to reveal."

"That is if your information is trustable—"

Estella interrupted Edeline the very next second. "Anything you want. I'll make sure to give it to you."

Isabella smirked at the sound of their desperate words. If The Fates were scared of anything other than the original Fates...

It was Theodore himself.
