A few hours before Ruby crashed into the dark castle...
"Fine…" Frederick started but Joan was already floating beside them.
"I wasn't asking," she smiled, slapping the dragon's back as it took off into the skies faster than before.
"Joan, what are you doing?!" Quill yelled out while the dragon flew away from the dark mage who floated between them and the witch's army.
"So I see you want to save your comrades," the witch cackled. "But this would not be like the other fights you've had."
"I wasn't expecting it to be like that," the mage smiled, releasing shadows around her body in a defensive position.
An image began to form before the woman until a human in a cloak appeared levitating before her.
"You still think you have it all figured out?" the witch smiled revealing her cloak to the surprised mage.
"No," she sighed, her defenses falling apart. "It cannot be."
