"When is she gonna know?"
"..."
"She's really getting on my nerves."
"She's really getting on my nerves."
"Who?", asked Marley, raising her head from the book which she wasn't even paying any attention to.
"That bitch....!", Lori gritted her teeth while the tears kept rolling down her cheeks.
"You're such a crybaby.", Marley answered with a disinterested tone.
Teary eyed, Lori glanced at her.
"You don't even love him, do you?", Marley curiously asked.
"...."
"Huh. You just don't want to lose."
"Yes... I don't want to lose again.... I want him....I really want him.... and no matter what..... I WILL HAVE HIM."
Marley kept staring at her anxiously. Even though Lori was weeping like an innocent child which looked as if she has been hurt by the fact that her mother didn't pay any attention to her and scolded her instead, deep down Marley knew that inside Lori's mind something terrible was cooking up.
Maybe something big was arriving. Earlier, when situations like these used to arrive, she had to witness a lot of sickening things which absolutely disgusted her. She was so young back then and Lori was even younger. But age is just a number which Lori always kept proving. There were countless number of sleepless days. She would crawl up to her bed, resting her head on her knees, she kept her ears covered with her hands and whenever the sound of Lori's weeping reached her ears, shiver would run down her spine. She was so traumatized by that sound that she herself had no more tears left to cry since then. She was always unable to cry ever since then. When she was suffering from high fever, there was no one to take care of her. Their mother never had any idea about their existences, so she was always kept out of question. She lost all hope of surviving, but in the end she was saved by 'Her'. 'She' called for doctor immediately after 'She' came to know about Marley's critical condition. It took some days for her to recover, during which 'She' gifted her a white silk ribbon to keep her eyes blindfolded to prevent her from seeing or hearing anymore abnormal occurence, which actually helped Marley a lot in her recovery. But after 'She' got married and left some years later, that white ribbon was replaced by a red one gifted to her by Lori as she snatched the white one from Marley and burnt it. Lori hated it. Marley never used Lori's one as a blindfold, she instead used it as a choker.
Marley was eventually habituated by all of it. She didn't feel scared anymore but rather bored.
"That's a lie. You are definitely scared", he said to her.
"Absolutely not. I'm just worried about you." Marley protested.
"It's okay. She hasn't even called for me yet."
"But I think she's going to. I can already smell it.", Marley answered restlessly.
To ease her tension, he gave her a soft kiss on her temple.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine, I will be fine, you will be fine and we both together will be fine.", he assured her with a bright smile.
Marley nodded as she too wanted to believe it all...
