Chapter 44 - Informant

He didn't head straight home that evening he headed to a pub to see if he could get any news about what was going on in the Vampire Council's continued struggle with the Merfolk Kingdom.

Marino watched for the third time as a gross drunkard of a man slammed his empty tankard down on the counter for the fifth time trying to get the attention of the barmaid for a refill. Finally, she came to the man before he applied his bar stool to the man's thick skull.

"What are you doing here my good friend," said Blake.

As he sidled himself into the space between himself and the drunkard. It was a crowded night at the sleazy honky tonk bar and that night it seemed they had a special guest that drew an unreputable crowd.

He was very careful to be conscious of his wallet because with the thickness of this crowd and everyone squeezed together like sardines it was very easy to be swindled by thieves and pickpockets if one didn't keep their wits about them.
