Maki quickly changed his expression and was back to smiling again. Only his eyes could show that he was smiling anyway, but he still puts in the effort to do it.
"Please pardon my sister. She was right, I really should practice for my kagura dance more." Hakaku bowed politely to us. "I'm happy to have you all visit. Would you like to introduce me to the new guest?"
"Oh, uh…. Hi." Maki responded awkwardly to Hakaku's formality.
He cleared his throat and stood up to give him a proper greeting and bow. "My name is Kataoka Makigai. But you please just call me Maki, as all my friends do."
Hakaku did not make any questions about what he was wearing and bowed instead in a warm and jovial way. "It's nice to meet you, Maki. I'm happy that you consider me as a friend upon first meeting."
