"What did you say, Your Highness?"
Prince Weiford blinked, as Ren Jidian had held on to his shoulders tightly. Asking him what he muttered just now with desperate eyes.
But now that Prince Weiford thought about it...
"I don't..... Particularly remember..." He frowned, lips quivering a bit. "Did I say anything?"
Ren Jidian furrowed his brows. "I think you did. Please try to remember, Your Highness!"
Ren Jidian begged in his inner thoughts: (You said Dian-Dian! I know that's what I heard! Please, let it be Dian-Dian!)
But the prince showed no signs of remembering it, and shook his head apologetically. Ren Jidian's heart fell.
They stayed quiet for a while, as the last remaining bits of sun had fallen down past the horizon. Nighttime had come, everything had become dimmer.
And so too, did the prince's memories.
"I'm sorry..... I feel like it must be something important for you. But I really can't remember."
