Military Academy X....
Inside a crowded hall, students sat down. On either side of the hall was a large door. The students came in from one, and went out through the other one after their identities were confirmed. They would then be given a ID card that had all their information. The ID card served as a map and a tracking device at the same time. It was mandatory for students to put it on at all times.
The Training Academy was used for training independent Heroes, while the Military Academies were used for training Soldiers. The difference between Soldiers and Heroes was that Heroes had much more freedom. If a Hero saw that is life was in danger he had the option of fleeing. But for a Soldier, it was known as desertion, and it was a serious crime. Soldiers had to take orders and constantly go to war, or fight battles and skirmishes here and there. But a Hero only had to save the day. There was not much difference if you look at the bigger picture, because Heroes and Soldiers strive to preserve Humanity. That being said, Soldiers always received better training and were exposed to the outside world more than Heroes who only save humans from themselves.
"CADET 157! EREN SMITH!" A bulky General roared. There were about 200 new intakes this year. It was more than he imagined because everyone wanted to be a Hero these days. But it didn't really matter because during the yearly exchange program, the Military would take in countless students from the Training Academy, as the young idiots would then discover that they were not meant to be Heroes.
Eren walked forward towards the other end of the hall. General Smut examined the boy. He was of average build. His chocolate complexion was shimmering. His silver hair was utterly dazzling. But he had a stiff expression, and half opened eyes, like he had nothing left to live for. It was this type he liked the most. They were always cold blooded killers that followed orders without question. If even he was ordered to kill his own father, Smut was sure that this cadet would not hesitate. Little did he know how true that was. Ever since Eren discovered his parents had abandoned him just because of his weak ability, he had the urge to kill them both. He had been home-schooled from Grandma Gwen's house. And when he was 16, which was the minimum age required to either join the Military or be enrolled in a Training Academy,he blatantly refused to be enrolled in Gwen's Academy, because of two main reasons. One,he hated Heroes. How could people who claimed to save lives abandon their own son? The two strongest Heroes...? Ha! The second reason was because Gwen herself was dead. She...
"What is your aim of joining this Military Academy Cadet?!" General Smut yelled.
Eren looked at him and just shrugged.
General Smut immediately smiled. He loved this kid. He was a blank slate. He would mold him into the perfect killing machine, and add to his collection of private army. The kid's ability was even suited for assassination missions. He could walk through walls! And it was pretty high leveled itself. Although the ability's Rank was quite low, it;s Grade was another story entirely. Grade 2! General Smut was already grinning and rubbing his hands in his mind.
Although Ranks could not increase, Grades could. Eren originally had the 8th Rank which was Hotel, and Grade 7. But because of his intense training, his ability was now a Grade 2 ability. At Grade 7, it would take him some time to phase through the walls, and more time to come out from the other end. But now, he could even walk inside the walls! His speed was greatly increased while he was inside the walls too! He could also swim inside the ground too, making him a fine assassin indeed.
The female Lieutenant beside General Smut handed Eren his ID card. His hostel block and dormitory number. He lefty without looking back. His expressionless face was agreat contrast to the smiling female Lieutenant. General Smut on the other hand was smiling at Eren's back as he left. Even as Eren left the hall, General Smut was still grinning at the door way like a fool.
"Uh...Sir?" the Lieutenant known as Polly said.
"OH" General Smut snapped out of it. "Take care of him Polly" he said.
Lieutenant Polly didn't understand, but she nodded.
"CADET 158.....!"
------------------
Eren got to his hostel. It was a mini skyscraper about 50 meters tall. His dorm was in the 10th floor. The top floor. He went towards the elevator. As he reached the front, he saw countless people gathered in front, obviously waiting their turns.
-Damn it!- he thought. This was probably the worst hostel in the whole Military campus. Why did he have to have such shitty luck?!
But it wasn't all bad. He could still use his ability. He touched the wall beside him, and he sank into it, like it was just water! No one noticed. No one except Carl of course. Carl was behind Eren. Immediately Eren sank into the wall, he vanished too...
------------
Dorm 10...
Eren had been following the direction from the ID card. But he couldn't help but shake the feeling that he was being followed. But who would have a similar ability as him? And why would they follow him. His vision was limited in the walls. And he didn't notice anyone near him. he didn't want to come out of the walls unless he was safely in his dorm, to avoid seeing a naked girl, or guy. Because the Military didn't separate them gender-wise. To some guys, it was too good to be true, but to Eren, it was a pain. He emerged from the ground of his dorm, right infront of the door. Almost immediately, his shadow flickered, and blonde haired guy emerged from his own shadow, smiling awkwardly at Eren.
"Hehe... Sorry I saw the crowd and couldn't help but hitch a ride." He said, scratching the back of his head, nervously.
Eren just stared at him expressionlessly
-What;s with this guy? Is he a robot?!-
"I'm Carl. Carl Edith" He said, after he couldn't stand Eren's stare.
