"She's coming!"
Cassandra immediately kicked the side of the bed to wake Gomiko from his sleep. Unfortunately, along with the rising sun, her mother, Lilya, came in the form of a black crow. Luckily, Gomiko immediately woke up and got under the bed.
Cassandra stood up straight, facing the window. The light seemed to split apart when Lilya came. A very fantastic miracle.
"Good morning, Cassandra. I'm glad to see you're awake. I thought you were still sleeping and would wake up in two hours," Lilya said coldly. Her gaze didn't show any motherly attitude at all. On the contrary, she even looked at the child like a personal assistant being punished.
"G-g-good morning, mom..."
Cassandra lowered her head as she returned the greeting to her mother.
"Show me your hand."
This girl gasped. She stared at the visible bruises extending from under her clothes.
"AHH!"
Cassandra screamed because Lilya immediately pulled her daughter's hand forcibly. Then, Lilya exposed the part of the arm covered by the shirt.
"You really are a human who doesn't give up easily to escape. But, why do you always give up on studying black magic, Casandra? Show me what you learned last night," Lilya said coldly.
Cassandra's heart was beating fast, and she was terrified now. Even though she knew that even if she could memorize the other two spells, she would still be punished. Cassandra knew her capacity. She would never be able to remember a long and heavy spell. It might even destroy her.
Slowly, Cassandra pointed her hand to the side of the dark corner of the room, after which she convinced herself to chant the spell she had learned with all her heart.
"Laburo birazo!"
BRAK!
One of the drawers in the cupboard was open. Cassandra panted. She looked at Lilya.
Lilya's sharp gaze seemed to kill Cassandra. Her mother looked at the wardrobe and her daughter in turn.
"Continue."
Unlike Cassandra thought, Lilya wanted her daughter to continue with the other two spells, just as she had asked Cassandra.
"I-I'm s-sorry, mom… I--."
"What? You only mastered one spell, right?" asked Lilya. She immediately cut off Cassandra's sentence.
Cassandra nodded slowly. She had no other choice but, to be honest.
Lilya gave a big smile, turned around, and suddenly the woman immediately pointed her hand over the mosquito net on top of Cassandra's bed. The mosquito net turned to ashes, with sparks falling onto the floor.
Cassandra gasped and jumped in fright.
"YOU'RE UNRELIABLE, CASSANDRA! YOU DISAPPOINTED ME SO MUCH!" Lilya shouted.
Lilya's voice sounded terrible, like a monster mixed with a robot's voice.
Cassandra held back her tears. She then ventured to show her palms which were red and sore from learning the spell last night.
"I can't, because of this, Mom.. I don't know, why every time I try a spell, I always experience intense pain and pain. If I could, I'd really like to master a lot of black spells. But, I can't do it. You should know and understand that I'm very different, mom. How long should I--"
CLAK!
A slap landed on Cassandra's face. Because of the force of the slap that Lilya gave, Cassandra could feel her head spinning.
"There's no reason to neglect this lesson, Cassandra. I'm sick of hearing your excuses! Everyone in the purple valley is fighting desperately to escape the shackles of white magic! You are a king's daughter who was given good facilities and learning, but you still make excuses in front of me! How could you let us down as your parents, Cassandra! Everyone in the purple valley experienced more terrible effects! You have to understand that!" Lilya barked.
Cassandra began to cry. She had no more words to fight her mother. Lilya then jumped to the window.
"You'll never get out of here Cassandra. You will be trapped in here, until you really understand black magic!"
Lilya jumped out the window and floated with black clouds under her feet. She spread her arms out and began to recite a relatively long incantation.
"Socha darko loku fereva!"
A black-light immediately appeared from the outside and began to replace the previous morning that surrounded the tower. Cassandra approached with eyes filled with tears, and it could be seen that there was a glimmer of light glistening all over the surface of the black light.
"Cassandra, you will die if you pass through this window. They are the protectors with the strongest lightning and fire of the black dragon god. I hope you understand my point, I will come back to test you after the September celebrations. You still have two weeks to memorize fifty spells! Understand!" said Lily firmly.
Cassandra felt an intense tightness in her chest. He could do nothing but nod slowly.
"I'll send you food this afternoon for the next two weeks. One more thing, you must be able to process the ingredients yourself. If you can't, then you'll starve!" added Lily. After saying that, he waved his hands, turning the figure into a black crow again.
As soon as Lilya was out of sight in Cassandra's eyes, this young woman shrieked loudly.
"YOU ALL EVIL! YOU NEVER UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED WITH ME!"
Cassandra then sat down and wept bitterly. Gomiko, who had been peeking from behind the bed, then came out and approached Cassandra. Her face turned sad as she now felt the pain in Cassandra's heart.
"Cassandra…" Gomiko muttered. He pressed her round body covered in fur to Cassandra's face.
"They all really hate me! What is the importance of all this! Why can't I live in peace! I never wanted this power! Why are they so selfish and can't accept every difference that exists! I really hate black magic! I hope I am reborn as the child of the king and queen of the white kingdom!" said Cassandra, sobbing.
Gomiko's round eyes stared at the window, which now looked dark and gloomy. The light covering the window barely allowed any sunlight to enter.
"Looks like I won't be able to get out of here either, Cassandra. I'll be here with you until you recite the spell," said Gomiko. His tone seemed awkward. On the other hand, he wanted to show Cassandra that he would be loyal to accompany his best friend. However, on the other hand, he was also afraid that Cassandra would be disturbed by his words just now.
Cassandra didn't answer. She stood up and lay down on the bed. Gomiko could only look at her wizard friend with a gloomy look.
"I'm going to sleep, Gomiko. I'm not in the mood to say anything, if you're bored maybe you can try to leave. But, I can't guarantee whether you will survive this tower, "said Cassandra.
Gomiko quickly flew up and landed next to Cassandra. His big eyes looked at Cassandra and said, "No, Cassandra. I will stay here with you."
