Winter swiftly came as fall dwindled away, Journey City had snow blanketing the entire city in nearly a couple of days of winter. City lights illuminated the vast streets, cars trudged along the rugged roads as Spes walked on the nearby sidewalk. Hundreds of people crowded the sidewalks, blocking Spes's view of the expansive and gorgeous city.
"Man, is this place massive" Spes muttered to himself. Constantly Spes was being shoved by the endless amount of people however, this didn't bother him one bit. The city held a unique stench that Spes couldn't recognize; after all, this is Spes's first time entering Journey City. Heaps of colossal skyscrapers climbed the ether as Spes roamed the midnight streets.
A sense of wonder clouded Spes's mind as he glanced around at every change he got. The city almost seemed to be a place from a perfect dream or a sci-fi television show. Finally the crowd began to depart, allowing Spes to truly grasp how beautiful this city is, buildings soared the skies and neon lights enveloped around the immense cityscape, gigantic TV screens were placed on the side of a few buildings.
This place was too gorgeous to be true, Spes thought. However, as much as Spes wished to examine the glamorous city Spes had to head to his apartment that his mother was paying for, in fact she said as soon as he entered the city to head straight for his apartment.
"She's such a bummer." Spes mumbled to himself, he quickly turned to a street called Bullard Avenue. "Is this where my apartment is located?" He asked himself, to his surprise his apartment wasn't how he imagined it. Instead of a building that touched the sky, the apartment building was a small yet wide building, it looked as if it could barely pack ten rooms.
"Of course she cheaped out." Spes grumbled, he then proceeded to walk into the parking lot. Spes noticed a cheaply made sign right beside the glass door, the sign said something like "Cheap apartment for mages!". Ever since Spes's mother knew he could conjure an Art, she's been obsessed with giving him mage related items so perhaps it was another one of those gifts.
Spes entered his room, its barren atmosphere and chilling air brushed onto him. A slight sigh erupted from his mouth as he plumped down onto the soft and woolen flooring. "She could've gotten some furniture…" Spes grumbled, as he began to spread his arms and legs like a snow angel. Suddenly, his stomach began to rumble wildly. "I hope she at-least got me some food." Spes said as he stood up and walked into the open and petite kitchen.
Spes glanced around the lonely kitchen, the floor was made with fake wood and his fridge was almost as tall as him and he's just 5'7. He wrapped his hands around the metal fridge handle and pulled open the fridge, revealing tons of lunchables and energy drinks. Is she serious? I don't even drink energy drinks anymore. Spes reached his hand deeper into the freezing fridge and he pulled out a damp note saying, "Honey I know how much you love your energy drinks so I made sure to buy you a months worth of them, and I know you can't cook so I got you a lot of lunchables, enjoy!".
"No way she's serious." Spes mumbled as he threw the note on the wooden floor. Spes then quickly closed the fridge door, and slammed his hands on the karran quartz countertop. "Now, I've gotta go shopping." Spes said to himself as he fled the bare kitchen.
