Chapter 16 - Requisition (1)

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...."

The moment Qiaolian regained control of her consciousness, her wild laughter erupted within the serene darkness. Perhaps, this was the very reaction that she would do when she heard Huan Xue saying he would steal her elixir field. But, since her movement was restricted at that time, she was unable to express her feelings

Now that there was no more restriction in her body, she appeared to have gone crazy!

Huan Xue crossed his arms and distanced himself from Qiaolian. "I've never heard of this abnormality... Could it be that this Lady Zhou had gone crazy after not fullfilling the desire of her primal yin?"

He blurted out his suspicion without an attempt of hiding his baffled tone.

Qiaolian did not stop laughing for a minute. Only after she was breathless that she decided to turn serious.

"What crazy?! Nonsense!" Qiaolian glared at him for his remarks. She turned around and looked at her own dark aura with a slight surprise on her face.

'The sudden switch from her wild laughter to her serious manner was even more concerning!' Huan Xue secretly expressed and covered his lips with his palm and continued to observe Qiaolian. He did not dare to speak his thoughts again.

"Master Huan, you seemed to catch the interest of whatever that primal yin is? Imagine? It even built this kind of prison just so she can talk with you without any distractions! I can sense the foreign forces outside, attacking this barrier. But, this aura seemed to form a solid shield."

"Still... It is you who built this prison," Huan Xue retorted with a small smirk on his face.

"Ohhh... I would never dare offend Master Huan and lock him here! No way!" Qiaolian giggled. "But, look at this aura... it's extremely good for defense. If I had known this... I would never waste my energy running away from those beast hunters and cultivators. I will just hide using this barrier."

After examining the dark aura around, Qiaolian pursed her lips and went silent. She could still feel the stinging sensation when she bit her lower lips. But, for some reason, the burning sensation on her body seemed to disperse.

After a few seconds of silence, Qiaolian appeared to remember something. A glint of amusement flickered in her eyes and then, she burst into another wild laughter!

"HAHAHAHAHA...."

"You've really gone crazy?" Huan Xue expressed coldly.

"I'm not... I'm fine! Hahahaha..." Qiaolian waved her hand and shook her head several times. Her exaggerated actions seemed to not clear Huan Xue's suspicion.

"Then, why are you laughing so loud? If not crazy... who laughs in this situation?" asked Huan Xue while watching her still engrossed in the dark aura around them.

"Why? I'm happy! People laugh because they are happy! HAHAHAHAHAHA..." Qiaolian seemed to have been afflicted with a laughing disease as she wildly laughed one more time.

"Be serious!" Huan Xue demanded feeling a little bit worried about how she could laugh without any reason. 'Isn't this reaction symptom of an early stage of insanity?'

"AHHH... But I'm serious! That's why... HAHAHAHA... That's why I'm laughing! Hmmm..." Qiaolian paused and took a deep breath.

After a few seconds, she continued, "Master Huan, you are aware that I just lost control of my consciousness right? I did not lose consciousness... it's just the control over it was gone... And... I could actually hear you talking to myself... well ... the other self if we can call it that way? Anyway... I--- I just find you an amusing person, Master Huan! And that is why I could not help but laugh! No man has ever made me laugh this freely after the death of my entire Zhou Clan. You should just let me laugh!"

"You--- y-you are laughing at me? Do you see me as a clown?" Huan Xue's face turned dark. But his eyes turned sympathetic when she mentioned the end of the Zhou Clan. This kind of tragedy was something that not everyone could endure.

"Clown? No way! In fact, Master Huan, come... laugh too... so that I won't be laughing at you... instead, I will laugh with you! HAHAHA..." Qiaolian's playful expression looked so free that Huan Xue could not help but stare at her and subconsciously smile.

"Enough laughing... Qiaolian, there's plenty of time to laugh in the future. Right now, you only have an incense of time to decide. Ahh... well, even if you've heard me, let me repeat myself. Would you like to dual cultivate together? Exchange our primal essence to advance together? Let's be cultivation partners?" Huan Xue sounded solemn. He tucked his hands behind his back while his eyes bore deeply into her.

"Master Huan, are you sure that you want to put that decision in my hands? Just thinking of the most cultured man on the entire continent getting the most uncultured woman as his cultivation partner... I could not help but laugh! It's definitely not my loss! And the entire continent would definitely envy my skills if I'll be the cultivation partner of the venerable Scarlet Island Master! And just to be clear, it's not true that my heart is not set on this path. I just believe that I can break the seal---..." Qiaolian abruptly shut her mouth.

She suddenly realized that she was about to tell Huan Xue about the existence of the seal in her inner core for the two other elixir fields in her body! The thought of just openly talking about such an important matter to the man made her extremely anxious. It had not just been a day since they meet!

In the past, Qiaolian had really refused the Feng Sect patriarch's ideas of her practicing dual cultivation. But, after the old man mentioned that she could easily remove the seal after cultivating it in just a few years, she accepted the arrangement.

As for her primal yin, because she felt that the energy and essence that she absorbed while cultivating was not enough, she decided not to exchange it with Feng Mo's primal yang. In other words, the heir of the Feng Sect still probably has his primal yang. But, after she cut off his vital organ, there might be some debate about whether it still exists!

Qiaolian fixed her composure and stood straight. She offered a formal smile at Huan Xue and asked him again, "Anyway... are you sure, Master Huan? It would seem to be that you will be at a disadvantage for this arrangement?"

Huan Xue lowered his gaze but there was a wide smile on his face. He did not laugh as Qiaolian did. However, the wide smile on his face was of the rarest expressions one could see.

"Why are you smiling like a fool? Now that I am serious... be serious too!" Qiaolian complained after seeing him smile.

"Ahhh... What else could be a reason for me to smile? My lady, people smile because they are happy!" Huan Xue conveniently said after he remembered Qiaolian's words when he asked her why she was laughing!

Huan Xue took a deep breath and spoke again, "Alright... it's just that... you think so highly of me that it somehow is exhilarating. What makes you think that I am at a disadvantage? It could be you on the disadvantage side here?"

Master Xia would never write this lady's name in the list of suitable dual cultivators for him if he is at a disadvantage!
