"Haha...."
Noticing the elemental affinity the system had informed him of, Adam could only release a maniacal laughter because now he finally understood his once called aberrant behavior.
He had a strange habit of eating and drinking chemical compounds in his father's underground laboratory. Chemicals such as sodium oxide, quicklime and sometimes even silicon dioxides.
Ever since he took a bite of limestone out of curiosity, his whole life had been upside down. He felt like he was on drugs. He wouldn't feel healthy unless he had one of those chemicals and so many others as well at least once a week.
His father had always grumbled about rats sneaking in to eat his chemicals but unbeknownst to him, Adam had been the culprit all along. There was even a time Adam had managed to purloin a couple of compounds from his school laboratory, such were the extent of his addiction.
He had always wondered how his body was able to accumulate such chemicals without resulting in any repercussion or unhealthy effects on his body. But seeing how glass was an element he had affinity for, a part of him wondered maybe luck was actually on his side. Aside from lady luck by his side, Adam would be more than happy to find a way to ditch the system present in him right now.
Not sure if the system was used as a means of keeping tabs of his daily activities, there was nothing he could do to ascertain his speculations. For now he had to accept the system lest he loses an organ. 'How hard can it be to finish five stages.' He wondered based on the fact that most systems he knew followed a particular pattern.
Host undergoes a little number of tasks that aren't always difficult to do but yet the rewards were always huge in said novels. For example, the protagonist could be tasked with stealing candy from a baby but he would be awarded a huge sum of exp if he were to be subtle enough to not attract the mother's attention. So how hard can the tasks be. Adam regained his initial resolve as he aims to find a way to detach himself from the system.
"Hey!! System!! Is there a way I can get rid of you?!!"
[[NO NEED TO YELL, I CAN HEAR YOU JUST FINE AFTER ALL I'M IN YOUR HEAD STUPID. THE ONLY WAY YOU COULD EVER GET RID OF ME IS IF YOU ARE CAPABLE OF COMPLETING ALL FIVE STAGES.]]
Provided there was a way of getting rid of the system, that was all Adam needed to hear as his lips curled into a smile.
[[YOU HAVE LESS THAN A MINUTE BEFORE THE PARALYSIS ON THE TIGERS WEARS OFF]]
With the words displayed on the holographic screen, Adam declared the commencement of the impending battle.
"Let the fun begin,"
With the thought that Lust was still in control, the air appeared to have been frozen around the tigers, the seeds of fear began to sprout from within their souls.
"Oh, come on guys, we are just getting started,"
The tigers thought time itself had stood still in the wake of a supreme being's advent. Adam inhaled and exhaled deeply. The saber-tooths whimpered upon witnessing the human before them.
But Adam paid no heed to their tear-filled eyes as he simply thought of one of his elemental abilities.
< Dreaded serpent!>
A huge sea serpent made of glass erupted from his hand as it swallowed twenty saber-tooths and flew upwards. Spikes protruded from inside the serpent's body transfixing every saber-tooths present in its guts, the serpent became thinner allowing not a single tiger to survive by crushing and squeezing them all. In a blink of an eye, the inner part of the serpent had become red.
The serpent shattered into tiny particles of glass as warm blood dropped like rain onto the remaining fifteen Saber-tooths who were wholly frozen in fear with legs trembling and eyes as white as snow.
The other tigers yelped at such horrifying scene as they turned towards Adam once more. One would think they were begging for their lives, seeing as how their eyes were beginning to stream in tears while a few quick thinking tigers thought it would be best to run away from the menacing foe before them.
Disgusted by such characteristics, Adam yelled as a barrage of glass arrows flew out of his palms and aimed directly towards the tigers who were within the range of the attack as a violent magic circle was formed beneath them. All remaining tigers were impaled to the ground. With the presence of guts and severed limbs everywhere, all this and the metallic smell similar to that of copper reminded Adam of a slaughter house.
*Grrr!!!*
The Alpha saber-tooth who had just arrived bared his fangs as it released its ultimate mundane aura aiming to intimidate Adam. On the other hand, Adam wasn't even perturbed. He waved his hand as a long glass sword of 2.3m emerged out of thin air.
< Durandal >
Adam grabbed the sword with his long fingernails piercing slightly into his palms as blood dripped down to the ground. He then raised his hand and rested the sword on his shoulder as a black domineering aura exuded from his body.
While clearly sensing the killing intent Adam's eyes radiated, the alpha saber tooth aimed to make a swift one hundred and eighty degree change in direction but thought otherwise after confirming its suspicion.
Indeed, it was right.
This human was in the lowest level commonly known to be the level for slimes and other slow moving monsters.
'This human dared to deceive me?!' With that thought, the alpha saber-tooth tiger lunged towards Adam with terrifying alacrity. But still the human didn't bolt away, instead it maintained its stance.
'Such stupidity,' The sabertooth wondered as it edges closer to the human.
Adam witnessing what was about to happen, Adam bent down slightly as he took a stance with red lightning trailing from his eyes. In a blink of an eye, the alpha saber-tooth that was at a distance of a hundred meters appeared before Adam as it aimed to crush the skull of the human.
'Huh?!'
But just then, at that moment before his claws and fangs could make contact with Adam, it was at that moment the alpha finally understood its initial trepidation towards the human.
'His sword?!'
That was right, it wasn't the human that released a menacing demonic aura a while ago, it was his sword that sent a chill to the alpha's spine earlier. The human was nothing but a speck that was a centurion of years too early to stand toe to toe with the alpha.
'But how?! The alpha tiger pondered how a sword was able to release an aura capable of being described as demonic. But that wasn't all that puzzled the alpha, the alpha tiger became more perplexed at the fact that it could sense the level of the sword which seemed to be analogous to its own but yet again appears to be light-years ahead of him.
But with Adam standing in front of the alpha, he made a diagonal strike at the still befuddled alpha. With the strike made, Adam stepped back a little as he rested his sword on his shoulder. Corresponding to the time Adam's sword made contact to his shoulder, the lifeless alpha's corpse was divided into equal halves.
With blood gushing out of every exposed arteries, it didn't take long for the alpha to fall into a pool of his own blood. With the cliff filled with several unrecognizable limbs and the blood of fifty one saber-tooth tigers smeared around every corner, this pinnacle would later be remarked as the birth place of the red demon for several generations to come.
"That was awesome!!" Adam exuberated while flexing his newly acquired muscles. The dropped sword immediately shatters into tiny particles.
