Kal's pov
I wake up and watch the people by the side going to church, it's Sunday today.
But I am not going to church I am in a carriage heading north with the love of my life for now.
She is still asleep in her white flowery dress, I ride the carriage farther with no worries in mind, I had spent the last week preparing all the passes I needed which I had paid a forger to make, he is said to be the best around and he was white too, "an average man with no inheritance has to survive he had said to me."
He talked about the north like he had been there before he talked about all the good that the north had to offer, the jobs, the rights and all.
I got really enthusiastic about it all, I could go and work in a crafting shop like I had done all this while, it would be the easy as I had skills I had gathered over time.
Where are we I hear her voice ask from behind?
You are awake I asked rethorically
Yes I am awake she replied with a smile, we are free she says.
Yes we are free my love but not totally free yet, just a few more places and we will be off the hook.
We ride in straight until I could feel the air of a new country, the wind had changed and all that remained was this one point in front of us and here was the final check before we are finally free.
I hand her the pass, tell them we are going to see your sister it is all I have been telling them ever since, for some reason they believed me after I threatened to wake her up so they could ask her, they all chose not to as they saw the luggage I had lined up in the back full of her clothes which I had gathered carefully without her noticing, not even the ladies sitting in her room noticed as I moved around changing ING forms.
I did take these clothes when she was always asleep and they were not in the room but I did think they would notice the decline but they were all busyy chatting.
And none of them cared really about her, they only cared that she did not leave the room until it got dark.
I wonder what Tom would do now, would he send men to find her by morning?
The question reminded me of the distance we have covered up until now.
I had heightened strength and sleep wasn't a thing that could hinder me, and as the years progress I know now that foe once I would be with someone, no one would kill or take Martha away from me, this lonely existance was killing me slowly but now I will not die anymore....
Halt!!!
We hear a husky voice vibrate into the air, I could see the black man who stood like a tree in front of the carriage with his massa by the side.
He was finely dressed like the rest and the gun in his hand looked like he was holding the latest toy, it looked new like those the others held.
Where are you going to he asked?
I don't answer and then she waves to him and he walks over to her and she tells him to call whoever was in charge.
He was reluctant trying to prove he had Power to decide when he heard his name, "Moses back off."
A man with blind hair and green eyes who was sleeping or rather pretended to be sleeping under a three rose and walked towards our carriage.
"Where are you headed?
he directed the question to her, "we are going to see my sister dear sir".
She is married in the north and my father had sent me to go spend some time with her and that is Francis my father's trusted servant.
She hands him the pass and he holds onto her hand and then she withdraws her hand gently.
You will have to speak with my father if you want to hold my hand any further she spoke with a smirk on her face.
I could see the way Moses was looking at me, I look straight ahead until he walks up close and before he could say a word the man with the blond hair said to him again, Moses move aside let the lady pass".
There was a smile on his face he was contented with the beauty who had promised to let her escort him when she was coming back.
Martha could not keep queit about how into her he was, she was excited about the encounter and I could not help but show it, u could not help but ask her why she had called me Francis.
It's the only name that came to mind and becides you look like a Francis,
I don't turn to look at her and mumble out something, "I can't hear you she says waiting for me to repeat myself but I don't.
I am quiet for the rest of the journey until we arrive
