Chapter 87 - AID IN CHAOS

Despite relentless practice and unwavering determination, Kylan found himself grappling with the unsettling reality that his newfound power remained beyond his control. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to reverse or halt the devastating effects of Atomic Disintegration. (Make sure to look the Backstory told in previous chapter before reading this paragraph.)

(Current Timeline)

At the heart of the chaotic battleground where Kylan had unleashed his formidable powers against Alex, he strained to maintain his footing, his body trembling with exhaustion. Through the wireless link, he relayed to Zede the culmination of his efforts, revealing that he had combined the power of time reversal with his atomic disintegration abilities in a desperate bid to gain the upper hand against their formidable foe.

As Kylan struggled to catch his breath, he heard the urgency in Zede's voice, a sharp shrill cutting through the chaos of the battlefield. Concerned, Kylan inquired about the source of Zede's distress, his senses on high alert as he awaited a response.

Before Zede could provide an answer, a sudden disturbance shattered the tense atmosphere, causing Kylan to whip his head around in alarm. In a breathtaking display of agility, Alex leaped from one skyscraper to the rooftop where Kylan lay, his imposing figure landing with a deafening thud that reverberated through the air.

With a sense of impending danger looming over him, Kylan braced himself for the confrontation to come, knowing that he would need to summon every ounce of strength and resilience he possessed to face the formidable adversary now standing before him.

As Kylan lay on the rooftop, weakened and barely conscious, Alex loomed over him with a menacing glare. With a cold, calculated tone, Alex addressed Kylan, his words dripping with contempt.

"Do you truly believe that removing the helmet would alter my perception?" Alex's voice reverberated through the air, carrying an aura of superiority. "It was the helmet that revealed my true nature to me, Kylan. It awakened the tyrant within, showing me the power that I wield."

With a swift, forceful motion, Alex brought both of his hands down upon Kylan's head, the impact resonating with a sickening crack. The force of the blow caused Kylan's helmet to fracture, sending fragments of shattered glass flying in all directions.

A sharp, agonizing pain shot through Kylan's skull as he coughed up blood, his consciousness slipping away as darkness enveloped his senses. The world around him blurred into a haze of confusion as he teetered on the brink of unconsciousness.

In those fleeting moments of fading awareness, Kylan could feel the weight of defeat pressing down upon him. Despite his valiant efforts and newfound powers, he had been outmatched by the relentless force of Alex's brutality.

As Kylan's consciousness waned, his last fleeting thought was one of determination—a resolve to rise again, to confront the tyrant who threatened to plunge their world into chaos. With that silent vow, Kylan surrendered to the darkness, his fate hanging in the balance as Alex's shadow loomed overhead.

The sun had barely risen over Deca Deca town, casting a pallid light on the ruins that sprawled across the once-bustling streets. Buildings lay in shambles, streets were torn asunder, and the air was thick with smoke and dust. Amidst this devastation, a man-sized white crow soared through the sky, its feathers shimmering in the morning light. The crow landed gracefully at the entrance of SSHQ, transforming into Mr. Bali as he touched the ground. His expression was grave as he swiftly made his way inside.

Inside the SSHQ, Mendle and Kaal were hunched over the control panels, reviewing the footage of the catastrophe. The tension in the room was palpable. Mr. Bali's arrival broke the heavy silence.

"What happened here?" Mr. Bali demanded, his voice echoing through the chamber.

Kaal looked up, his face etched with worry and fatigue. "An illegal experiment by Kylan and Zede went horribly wrong," he explained. "The creature created from their experiment, Alex, wreaked havoc across the town. We sent our special teams and Saviors, but everything we tried was in vain. We even lost track of Aayam. A portal opened in front of him, and he was pulled in. We have no idea where he is now."

Mr. Bali's eyes widened with concern. "And Kylan and Zede?" he asked, his voice softening slightly.

Mendle pointed to the screen, where the replay showed the climax of the battle. Kylan, barely standing, had used his ultimate attack, Atomic Disintegration, against Alex. But the attack had failed spectacularly, leaving Kylan unconscious and gravely injured.

"We saw Kylan's full potential attack fail," Mendle said, shaking his head. "It was our last hope, and it didn't work. So, I did the only thing I could think of." He pressed a button, and a portal shimmered open on the screen. The footage showed Zede and Kylan being pulled through the portal just as Alex was about to land another devastating blow.

"They're here, in SSHQ," Mendle continued. "I teleported them to the infirmary. They need immediate medical attention."

Mr. Bali nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "We need a new plan," he said, his voice firm. "This creature, Alex, is beyond anything we've faced before. We need to understand what we're dealing with and find Aayam. He's critical to our efforts."

Kaal nodded in agreement. "I'll start analyzing the data from the portal that took Aayam. Maybe we can trace it back to its source."

Just then, Ferric and Cupid entered the room, their faces etched with concern. "We came as soon as we heard," Ferric said. "What's the plan?"

Mendle turned to Ferric and Cupid. "We need to secure the town and protect the remaining civilians. Our resources are stretched thin, but we can't let Alex wreak any more havoc."

Mr. Bali, now fully in his human form, clenched his fists. "I'll gather our remaining forces. We'll do whatever it takes to stop this monster."

As the group strategized, the gravity of their mission settled over them like a heavy shroud. The battle was far from over, and the challenges ahead seemed insurmountable. But in the face of devastation, they found a renewed sense of determination. The fate of Deca Deca town, and perhaps the world, hung in the balance.

In the infirmary, Zede and Kylan lay unconscious, their bodies battered and bruised. They were the town's last hope, but they needed time to recover and regroup. The road ahead was long and fraught with danger, but they were not alone. Their allies would stand by them, ready to face whatever came next.

And so, as the first light of dawn broke over the ruins, a new chapter in the battle for Deca Deca town began.
