Chapter 62 - HEALED UP WOUNDS

A few months later, Zede, fully recovered and reveling in his newfound freedom, soared through the skies in his Blaze outfit alongside his loyal companion, Diego. The wind rushed past him, and the world felt like a vast playground of endless possibilities. As he gracefully navigated the currents, his keen eyes spotted a distinctive figure perched on the edge of a building – a woman in a resplendent white suit adorned with intricate golden etchings, a sword hanging gracefully at her side. It was Clara.

Landing with a controlled descent on the rooftop, Zede approached Clara, who greeted him with a warm smile. The camaraderie and shared experiences of their recent battles lingered in the air as they engaged in a conversation that bridged the gap between allies and friends. Concern and curiosity marked Zede's expression as he inquired about Clara's well-being, and Clara, in turn, apologized for the unintended injuries she had caused during their previous encounter.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Zede attempted to embrace Clara, but she skillfully dodged the hug in a comical dance that spoke volumes about their evolving dynamic. Eventually, they both settled on the rooftop's edge, ready to engage in a heartfelt conversation that transcended the boundaries of their roles as superhumans.

Inquiring about Clara's striking attire, Zede discovered the involvement of Moore in an incident where he took Darby and Simon from the Savior Society prison. Clara, with a mixture of determination and vulnerability, recounted the challenges she faced during those months. Zede, his concern palpable, discussed the potential consequences of Moore's actions, deepening the bond between them.

Setting aside the weight of the conversation, Zede insisted Clara reveal the tale of how she managed to convince Aayam to allow her to join the Savior Society. Clara, with a knowing smile, began her explanation, weaving a narrative that showcased not only her strength but also her strategic prowess in navigating complex situations.

Just as the atmosphere buzzed with the resonance of their shared stories, Zede's wristwatch buzzed with an incoming audio message from Aayam. "Zede I am glad to know that you are good at human skills, as you trusted Clara even after there was not a single ray of light to trust her. I saw how she helped Savior Society by fighting Moore. And after healing her, we gave her a training session. Now she is our comrade 'Knight Eve' with the abilities of fencing and capabilities of that destroyed bull"

As the message concluded, Clara pointed out Zede's parents entering his room at the hospital "He Zede look Mr. and Mrs. Blake is on the hospital gate, going to your room. You should hurry". Realizing the urgency and warmth in his heart, Zede hovered in the air, ready to rush back to the hospital and greet his parents.

(At Zede's Home)

The atmosphere in Zede's home was one of bustling activity and warmth as his parents, Zenya, Derek, and the slightly eccentric but lovable Paige gathered to welcome him back after his recovery. The living room was adorned with banners proclaiming "Welcome Home, Zede!" and an array of balloons in vibrant colors.

As Zede entered the room, he was greeted with an exuberant chorus of cheers. His parents, beaming with joy, rushed forward for a collective group hug that threatened to squeeze the air out of him.

"Zede, my boy! We missed you so much!" his mother exclaimed, showering him with kisses on both cheeks.

"Mom, I can't breathe!" Zede managed to gasp, his attempts at protest drowned out by the sheer enthusiasm of his parents.

Zenya and Derek joined in, adding to the jubilant chaos. Zenya gave Zede a bear hug while Derek slapped him on the back, congratulating him.

Amidst the commotion, Paige, with her distinct flair, adorned Zede with a makeshift crown made of balloons. "You're the king of the day!" she declared with theatrical grandiosity.

Zede, trying to maintain his composure, couldn't help but roll his eyes. "Seriously, guys? I just got out of the hospital, not a triumphant return from a world-saving mission."

His protest fell on deaf ears as Zenya ushered him to a specially prepared seat in the center of the room. "Now, now, Zede, it's time for some pampering!" she declared with a twinkle in her eyes.

Before he could object, his parents and friends descended upon him, each armed with their own ideas of how to pamper him. Zenya produced a tray of homemade cookies, Derek brought out a Martial art-themed blanket, and Paige handed him a cape made of the softest fabric she could find.

Zede, now wrapped in a cape, surrounded by balloons, and seated on a throne of pillows, felt more like a reluctant monarch than a superhero. "I appreciate the effort, but can we tone it down a bit?" he requested, his attempt at maintaining his cool failing miserably.

His plea only fueled their enthusiasm. Zenya, donning a chef's hat, announced, "Feast incoming!" as she prepared to inundate him with a barrage of homemade delights.

Paige, seizing the opportunity, struck a pose. "I, the loyal subject Paige, am here to fulfill your every wish, O Mighty Zede!"

Zede sighed, torn between laughter and exasperation. "Can we just have a normal family gathering, please?"

His parents and friends exchanged glances, momentarily considering his request before bursting into laughter. "Normal? Where's the fun in that?" Zenya chuckled, placing a cookie in Zede's hand.

The scene continued with a comedic blend of pampering, laughter, and absurdity. Despite Zede's attempts to resist, he found himself enveloped in the whimsical care of his loved ones, the comical escapade making his return home a memorable affair. As they reveled in their unique brand of celebration, Zede couldn't deny that, in its own way, this eccentric homecoming was a testament to the love and joy that surrounded him.
