Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

'Mind Walker, Is he referring to us?' Haytham's mind sprang into action upon hearing that.

"Hmm, Haha, have you been feeling suicidal Mind Walker? Do you not realise that you are walking towards your own death?" said Armstrong with a laugh, arrogance dripping from his face.

Robert on the other hand looked calm like a tiger who was waiting for his prey to make a move.

"Hmm, it seems our name has been popular lately. But hearing it from the mouth of a scum such as yourself irks me." said Robert in a dignified manner.

"Hahahaha, it seems you do have a death wish. Are you not aware that you are in my territory? You are nothing but free nutrition for me, your clan's once legendary power is now gone. You have no hope." said the demon while looking at Robert with pity.

"Hmpf! You seem to be mistaken about something scum! You are but a small frog in a small well, in a big world." said Robert with

Meanwhile Haytham's face was screaming 'What the F**k is going on?'. He was wondering if the preferred method of combat in the underworld was hurling insults at each other till one of them died of heart attack.

Robert looked back at Haytham, he was aware of the storm of questions brewing in Haytham's mind but he needed him to stay alert. When he looked into Haytham's eyes he noticed Haytham being aware of his surroundings and hype focused; Robert smiled in response and focused his attention back on the demon.

"Enough talk! I am getting hungry." After saying so, the demon crouched like an animal, his hand piercing and gripping the ground, his back was arched and his posture resembling a cat about to leap.

When Robert saw this, he pulled Haytham behind him. Then he stretched his right arm forward and suddenly out of the thin air, a walking cane materialised. The cane was black in colour and looked like it was made out of complete metal. On the top of the handle was embedded a large crystal.

The demonic Armstrong who was filled with rage didn't see the cane. He was done preparing and moved to make his leap. The moment he moved his muscle there was a sonic boom and he disappeared from his spot, the only thing left behind was the remains of the obliterated floor.

Haytham was dumbstruck by both the things that had happened within a second of each other. He could not believe his own eyes even if someone showed it all to him again.

Robert held the cane in his hand and noticed the change of shift in the air. He had seen the full capabilities of the demon tribe over his long years of fighting them; now, very few things surprised him. The demonic Armstrong's fast speed was not one of them, Robert remained unfazed.

He lifted the cane with crystal facing outward and suddenly a whitish barrier was created around Robert and Haytham. In the next moment the demonic Armstrong collided face first with the barrier and got rebounded with the same amount of force that he had disappeared. Armstrong's body got flung across the room and got embedded in one of the walls.

It all happened in a second and was almost invisible to a normal person. Which means all Haytham saw was the collision of Armstrong and the barrier and in the next second he saw the wall which had hole in it with Armstrong embedded. It took him a long time to understand what had happened.

Robert looked at the flabbergasted Haytham and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Uh, Um, he is not moving, so does that mean it is over?" asked a skeptical Haytham.

"Yes it is over. Only if you mean the fighting part though; our job is still not over." said Robert.

"But you said that it will be dangerous and I thought he would be very strong!! But what was that? He was so weak!!" said Haytham with disappointment evident on his face.

"Do not let the result of this battle delude you Haytham. That monstrosity is a very dangerous and strong entity and if you were to fight it then by now your brain would've ended up in his stomach." said Robert, "He was very strong, Yes; I just happened to be a lot more stronger than him."

Haytham heard his grandfather say the most badass line he had ever heard. From today onwards he started seeing his grandfather in a new light. Everything he did seemed cool in Haytham's eyes.

Robert turned around and walked towards the demon as the job was still not complete. When he arrived at the body, he took out a small black marble from his pocket. He threw the marble at the body and the moment it hit the body it opened up revealing a vortex which ruthlessly distorted the body and sucked it in. It fell down on the ground like a simple marble after devouring a whole demon. Robert picked up the marble and put it back in pocket. He turned and saw Haytham gawking at him.

"What was that grandfather!?" asked Haytham excitedly.

"That was a soul ball and it is used to capture souls."

"So does that mean that the demon is still alive?"

"Yes, as it turns out we still have some use of him. Well, our job here is done and I must say we have benefited a lot from it; it's now time to return to our bodies." said Robert with a satisfied smile.

"But I still have a lot of questions." Haytham protested.

"Fret not, you will have time to do that later, we must now leave as our presence here for a long period of time is not good for the host's subconscious." said Robert, shutting down Haytham quickly, "Now close your eyes and imagine yourself trying to wake up from a dream."

Haytham did as he was instructed and closed his eyes. He started to imagine the sensation of sleeping and then trying to wake up from it.

After a few seconds he abruptly opened his eyes and looked around; only to realise that he was back in his own body. Everything was as it was left off, with Ellie standing near him, his grandfather sitting beside him and Sebastian lying down on the bed.
