My face turned to meet a familiar scarlet pair of eyes which were a contrast to her golden hair. For a moment, I felt my body freeze. Was it really her?
'Seraphina?'. My mind beckoned as I watched the light wind brush past her hair as if on cue.
She used two fingers to tuck some loose strands behind her ear before giving an awkward smile.
"Hi". We both said in unison before an awkward silence broke out. I tried to swallow the lump that had formed in my throat. She looked amazing but seemed to be trying to recall where we'd met.
"I couldn't recognize you - your hair colour I mean". She broke the silence with a mild chuckle which sent my mind into a flux.
"Ah, yes...". I replied, brushing some fingers through my hair with my eyes half rolled up as if I could see it - although I was the one who'd dyed it black.
"It's been a while...", she said again.
"Yes….. I guess," I said, trying hard to avoid the urge to stare too long.
