Their swiftness in slaughtering the throats of the guards was beyond commendable. They were all clothed in black and they were very nimble, their operation went smooth and they went into every knight's room to slay them, some were awake of course, those they skipped.
Two of them slowly made their way into Reilfreid's room and were about to slit his throat when the head of the one closer to Reilfreid dropped to the ground all of a sudden. It put the other in a great shock such that he jumped back to run away. Reilfreid slowly stood up as something within his bare chest glowed red.
"Lord Reilfreid, we are under attack!" Knight Edward shouted as he came running. Immediately the glow died down as though it was never there before and Reilfried threw himself out the window. As Knight Edward arrived, he met the startled assassin and one dead, then the window smashed.
