Vince POV
I watch as Violet groans at the pressure difference as her wolf pushes forward, "The discomfort will go away once your body is used to the movement of your wolf." I reassure her. Violet lifts her head, dropping her hands, I hear gasps from around the table. She scans the room and stops at her parents who are staring with their mouths open.
"Hello, it is nice to meet you. I am Val." Val's voice comes out deep with a hint of Violet's gentle tone.
I study her parents, frozen in their seats, "Steve, Mary, I know this is strange but, I can feel Vi is becoming worried." I lean over to say as quietly as possible. I look back to Violet, she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. I sit tall with pride watching my Luna.
"Can I have a mirror?" Violet small voice comes out to question.
"Of course," Luna Mia states and her eyes fog over to show she is mindlinking someone. Within a second, there is a knock on the door and a maid enters with a hand mirror, passing it to Violet with a submissive bow.
"What is your name?" Violet says sweetly, taking the mirror and holding the maid's hand.
"My name is Emily." The young maid answers.
"Thank you, Emily." Violet reassures her with a bow, releasing her hand. The maid quickly leaves the room. Violet pulls the mirror to her face, her eyes scan her face.
"Are white eyes normal in a wolf?" She looks to me for an answer.
"You are a special wolf, love." I answer.
"I always told you, you were special growing up." Steve adds with pride in his voice.
"Dad…" Violet is embarrassed by the sentiment.
"I can't wait to see your wolf." I say with excitement as Victor growls out in approval.
"Wait… what do you mean 'see' my wolf?" Violet questions and stares at me with only blue eyes. The shock pushed Val back into her mind.
"When you shift into your wolf. Victor keeps mentioning how amazing and beautiful she is." I smile at her.
Violet POV
"I.. I am going to shift into a wolf." I panic, Vince reaches out to comfort me. "How? When? Will it hurt? How will I become a human again?" I spit questions out, my heart racing and my parents become restless as the questions fly out.
"Maybe we should take a break." Luna Mia says, standing from her seat. "It's lunch time right now, are you hungry?" Mia asks my parents.
We will shift when the time is right. The shift will be uncomfortable at first, just like the headache. We can shift between wolf and human easily, you will not be stuck in my form. Val explains in my mind. I find the room empty except for Vince and myself. I must have tuned out when Val started to speak.
"Violet, I know a lot of information all at once. I am still struggling with how my little human mate is Val, the first mate along with myself. I will be by your side every step of the way. We will overcome every obstacle, together." Vince is now crouching down in front of me, his hand reaching for my face and rubbing small circles on my cheek. I immediately calm at his touch and words. I let his words sink in and take into consideration Val's comment on the situation.
Okay… I am going to turn into a wolf. I think to myself.
"Can we get some food?" I ask Vince.
"Your mom said she will bring you something, they should be back here in a few minutes." He answers, I nod in response.
Vince stays in front of me, letting us sit in comfortable silence. I stare at him, admiring his green eyes, brown hair, and tan skin. I blush as he winks at my eye movement over his face.
"Like what you see?" He teases.
"No," pushing him playfully, "just looking at the giraffino in front of me, what a strange creature." I say with a scan of his body. The knock on the door draws our attention away from each other as everyone returns to their seat.
"I would like to apologize for my panic outburst." I say to everyone.
"I believe you took it better than most people would." Gamma Kyle's tone is encouraging.
"Here you go sweetie, eat up." My mom passed me a plate of spaghetti and a bottle of water.
"Thank you mom." I notice Vince has no food, and the questioning look on my face pulls his attention.
"I will eat when we are done with the meeting." He states, settling in his chair.
"While we were eating, we discussed the living situation and the danger of what is suspected to come," Zane started to direct the conversation. "Steve and Mary will be away in the coming months for work in Seattle. I know Violet would want their safety put first. As for Vince and Violet, I would like to formally invite you to stay here while we train and plan. Your parents agreed on the arrangement as this may be the safest place for you, while Kevin is still breathing." Vince cuts him off with a growl at the mention of Kevin's name.
"What do you say?" Mia asks for an answer.
"If Vince is going to be here, then I want to be here." I state looking at Vince and he nods in agreement.
"I will be mostly on the training ground, I may not be around as much but, I will make time for you, my Luna." He says with ease.
"Since it's settled. I will have a room prepared as we await your return. Will you be back tonight?" Zane asks.
"We leave first thing in the morning for my trip. I would like to know you are safe before we leave." My father's tone said it wasn't a choice for me to make.
"We will be back later today." Vince chimes in, getting the hint in my father's voice while I continue to eat my food.
"Would it be okay if I go check on the pups and show my parents around the hospital?" I ask nervously.
"Of course, Gamma Nicole?" Zane calls to her, "Please escort Luna Violet and her parents to the hospital. Stay with them." His voice is full of power.
"Yes Alpha." She replies.
"Are you okay if I stay here?" Vince asks me.
"Of course. We won't be too long. We have a four hour car ride in front of us and it's already after lunch." I say.
"Are we ready?" Nicole questions. I nod to her and grab my bowl to dispose of it.
"I will take it." Kyle grabs the bowl. Vince growls at the fast movement to the bowl. I hand him the bowl with a nod and turn to Vince.
"Behave yourself or I will make sure Victor keeps his promise of howling all night." I leave a kiss on his cheek before exiting the office.
My parents follow close behind me and Gamma Nicole in sync with every step I make.
"Tell me about yourself," looking at Nicole.
"I am the daughter of Gamma Nick from the Dark Forest Pack overseas. I am 22 years old and never thought I would travel across the world to be with my mate." Giving me a respectful bow of her head.
"Do you miss your family?" I question glancing back at my parents.
"I do, we knew I would be moving packs when I didn't find my mate at 18. My parents were sad I moved so far but I can still talk to them and visit when time accounts for it." She says, giving me a reassuring smile. We continue the walk in silence.
Why are so many people staring? I noticed the uncomfortableness of my parents.
They are wondering why there are humans on pack land and who you are since they smell you have a wolf. Gamma Nicole is putting wolves in their place for staring as it is disrespectful. Val chimes.
We reach the hospital, entering, we find Nina as her face drops in my presence.
"Gamma, how may I help you?" She asks, ignoring my parents and myself.
"Pack business, we will find our way." Nicole doesn't stop walking, passing by Nina with a look of frustration at her ignorance. I smiled as Nina was put in her place and we continued to the pup floor.
"Gamma, what do I owe the pleasure?" Doctor Tia says spotting Nicole first.
"Alpha Zane asked me to escort these guests to you." She answers promptly.
Doctor Tia lights up, "Oh, Violet, I was wondering when you would return. I am glad you are safe. I assume these are your parents."
"Yes, these are my parents, Steve and Mary. Mom, dad, this is Doctor Tia. She's my boss." I finish as they shake hands with polite smiles. "Alpha Zane said I could visit the pups and show my parents my new job."
"Of course, I do have one question before you go off," I wait for her question, "you smell of a wolf as if you have a wolf." she states with curiosity. I panic and look to Nicole for what to say.
I trust her. Val says pushing forward, dropping my head and I push on my temples to relieve the pressure. My chest vibrates with a growl from Val as she controls my movement.
"Hello, Doctor Tia." Val says and I watch Tia look at Nicole with utter shock across her face.
"How? How is that possible?" she questions.
"I am Val." Val introduces herself and I feel powerful as Nicole knees in submission and Tia follows. Val growl vibrates my entire body. That felt strange. I think.
As Tia and Nicole stand, the double door bursts open and Victor in wolf form runs towards me. The large black wolf slowly growls at everyone around me, ready to attack.
"Victor, is something wrong?" Val asks, petting his head to calm him.
"I heard you growl and wanted to know why." Vince's voice follows into my mind where my thoughts sit.
Val chuckles at her over protective mate, "Dear mate, I was introducing myself to Doctor Tia." At her words, I hear bones crack as Vince stands in front of me fully clothed.
"Doctor Tia," Vince nods to her, "Val, may I speak with Violet now?" he asks, I feel her sink back and give me control.
"Are you okay? I felt you panic and then growl, we couldn't control the need to see you." He says, grabbing my arms and scanning my body.
"Yes, I am okay. Doctor Tia questioned why I smelt different and I panicked but Val trusted her. So, I allowed her to show herself." I see his whole body relax, pulling me into him and dropping his head into my neck with a big inhale. He holds me for a few seconds until his heart beat stops pounding and releases me.
"I won't be long. We should head back soon. Zane has one thing he would like to do before we leave," he kisses my forehead, turning to everyone else, "Gamma, Tia, parents," Nods to all of them and walks out the door.
