Destiny's POV
-opening my eyes just slowly- "night time? Already? Ugh... I just want to... hibernate longer... it's been only... a month!-
At least I thought it was, felt like it... I reach over my face and rub my eyes softly and made a grumpy disgusted face. "Hate... waking... up..- I mustered up a groan.
Living for 100 years, you grow bored of the lifestyle fast. But with all the changes of the years... everything was nicer now then it was then. Well to a point.
The only thing that sucks now is how people create technology more just to either be lazy or to be glued more to electronics that give you entertainment compared to searching the world for entertainment.
Either way this is the Era I'm forced to stay in. But I won't change all that much. Maybe hair styles, clothes, and spoken languages to match today's slang.
-after laying in my bed for just a moment thinking. I push the mesh from around my bed away to push my legs out the bed and my feet touched the floor. The cold cold floor.-
"I seriously hope it isn't winter time... that's the best time to just... stay asleep for many more months."
A knock on my door startled me. Making me jump.
"Hello? Who is it?" I call out not knowing what's going on since I've been asleep for a whole year.
"Yes... is it safe to come in? I heard you waking Ms. Destiny... your mother sent me to make your tray... of warm 'coffee' and toast with 'jam'. May I enter?"
His voice deep. Knowing who it is. I raised my hand, the door suddenly unlocks and opens for him, I knew his hands were full. I sat at the edge of my bed and watched a man in a suit walk in, his pepper Grey hair pulled back in a ponytail and gelled back as usual. They always have our butlers gel back their hair so no hair falls into our food or drinks. His suit fancy, not wrinkled. Nice and smooth. His eyes golden brown like a gorgeous yellow leaf turning during fall. His ears were sharp so I knew he's been changed many many years ago.
"Thank you Dun. I haven't seen you in so long. Have you recovered... better?"
Shit... I'm bad with small talk... I'm shyly playing with the lace of my nightgown that wrapped around me.
"Yes ma'am I have. Though I'm hitting ages, I still keep up and heal just fine." He placed my tray on the nightstand and stepped back.
"Would you like me to..." before he could finish I raised my hand to stop him.
"Pick clothes for the night? No. But I would love for you to sit near me if that's OK with you? I hope mother isn't running you like a work horse. "
He stayed where he was and slightly smirked at me.
"She gives me work I easily cab handle. But you... you request the worst out of me. You know how your mother hates me using royal furniture for one thing and another, I'm scared my legs will fall asleep sitting since I spend 100% of my life standing and sleeping in the typical coffin that also seems to just be in a standing position."
I sat there for a moment then I broke out in a slight laugh.
"Oh stop Dun. Just sit you smart-ass. I'm offering you to hang out with me. We finally hit more years.. haven't we?"
He nods then strides to the bed and sits down as delicately as possible like a woman trying not to mess up her dress. I try to hold in another laugh.
"Dun. How did you get into this?" I reached over and grabbed my cup from the tray and sipped my blood filled coffee cause it never tastes any better but this way. He looked at the floor then over at me and smiles.
"Well your father saved my life... even though I couldn't do the same sadly.. but he begged me to save the other part of his life. You and your beautiful mother." He paused a moment then I seen he welded up slightly with tears. But he took a deep breath in and held his own without shedding a drop. We live by a saying. 'Don't shed tears, you cry blood and if you are lesser like Dun... blood was wasted and you feel weak cause you cant get ahold of human blood like the higher ups' I stared at him sadly.
"You were strong, brave, handsome. You'll hopefully get out of this lifestyle." He shook his head.
"Ms. Destiny... my time as a young man and dreams are done for. I'm happy this way. Taking care of Masters and mistresses who need to keep the blood line of Carlson going. This is a high family and this is what I chose to keep doing for your father. Seeing every part of his blood blossoming and becoming something more is all I have left as dreams. Even if I take my final breath to see it through."
He cleared his voice and smiled.
"I'm not yet disappointed and I'm already happy seeing the women left of the house creating so much beauty with life of their own." He then fidgeted some. "You know the news yet... right?"
I shook my head no.
"Don't bring it up until she tells you. But your mother is expecting again... before your father passed away. He left her one more blessing."
With my confusion I glared at him a moment then rubbed my temples and took another sip of my coffee.
"How is that possible? Dad died a year ago and I've been asleep a whole year. How?"
He shifted then stood up again and smiled to me.
"Long story. Your mother is a crazy lady. She saved stuff from him before he passed and... you know the rest. But you never heard this from me, my lady. " he was about to start walking then I said quickly.
"Wait!..."
He turned and looked at me with a bit of a nervous expression on his face.
"Have you eaten anything Dun?"
He shook his head no.
"Here..." I handed him the 'jelly toast' his expression changed from nervousness and fear to absolute pale cold fear. Shivering just slightly.
"Ma'am I can't accept the gift... I'll be noticed and your mother..." I raised my hand and growled slightly.
"My mother can go lick a cactus. She won't rule you forever. I own you now. And I said eat."
He nods slightly and eats it slowly, seeing that it was his first taste of actual human blood, he ate it in a sloppy way and his eyes began to darken. I handed him the coffee and he drank the rest in a manner that told me he enjoyed it all so much. "Why... do you... do this to me." He mumbles then smiles seeing me smile back. I stood up and hugged him lovingly.
"Because I love you Dun. You shouldn't be treated this way. No matter if your higher or lesser. You are our kind and we should treat our kind better..." he hugged me back and sighed out.
"If only your father seen you. He'd have my head on a platter and you locked away for this..."
Knowing he spoke the truth I kept hugging him and he played with my hair some. Then he let me go from the embrace. He pulled away some and spoke softly.
"I must leave now Ms. Destiny. Your mother expects me to have stuff prepared for your awakening. Please get ready and head downstairs to her side asap. I'll stay undercover for a few days so no one notices my.... changes."
I looked at him, seeing his eyes go back to normal, but something else had changed about him. His Grey hair began growing some color to it and some of his aging marks began fading. Loving the new sight of him made me smile.
"Fair enough. Use the callers to let them work and you hide in the studies. I'll just let my mother know you are doing research for me and planning on some study months. Fair? Gives you a long break from everything. She can't get mad when your simply doing MY requests and it's also for MY future and well being."
He smiled and nodded to me. "Such a cleaver creature indeed. Thank you Ms. Destiny." He took his leave, leaving me to the silence of myself and my own room. I put my hand in the air and shut my door with my power again like I opened it then locked the door, stripping my nightwear off and looking into my closet for an outfit for the night party my mother chose to suddenly throw me for my awakening.
