Clifford didn't dare to laugh anymore, Miss Lily only said that to make him stop the annoying laugh and it worked.
"Do you have any food, Miss Lily?" Clifford asked politely, he was famished for food.
"Hmmmm, you can have some of these popcorns," She offered Clifford some popcorns.
"Popcorns? I'm too famished, this can't fill a quarter of my stomach, but I'll manage it," Clifford grabbed the packet of popcorn and poured the whole popcorns in his mouth, he chewed it like a monster that was hungry for flesh. After he had ate the whole popcorn, he threw the empty packet into a bin. "I need more food," he complained.
"What the hell! I told you to only have some of it but you ate the whole packet, and now you want more?"
"It's really not enough," Clifford was still hungry.
"Not only are you lazy, you're a fuckin glutton too," She rolled her eyes at Clifford.
"Can I have my resources now?" I need to go."
"It's in that box," She pointed at a box that was placed on a cabinet at one end of her office." Clifford followed the direction she pointed at, he saw a black box and he carried it.
"I need to eat a heavy meal, I'm afraid that I might die of hunger." Clifford said while he placed the box on Miss Lily's desk, he infused the space ring on his finger with mana, the ring emitted a silver glow, the silver glow from the ring wrapped around the box and in a flash, the box disappeared. He had kept the resource box in the spatial ring.
"Glutton," Miss Lily shook her head. She clearly saw what Clifford had done but she wasn't surprised, she had long noticed that the ring was a spatial tool, she could tell because she was a space mage herself. "Be here tomorrow, by noon, you need to awaken your next element."
"Alright Miss Lily, see you tomorrow," Clifford said his farewell, he left for the cafeteria immediately. He bought some chicken and chips with a bottle of yoghurt, then he headed to his hostel. When he got to his hostel, only Leonard and Feng Xin was in the room, but they were asleep. He had no clue where the others were.
"Maybe they've gone partying again," Clifford thought, he sat on his bed, unpacked his food and he started to devour the food. After he had eaten, he slept off. He was still sleeping when his phone notified him of a message, it was a voice message from Daisy. She messaged him, pleading that he should come meet her at a specific location. Clifford furrowed his brows, it was already late, he wondered what kind of trouble she could be at that moment that would make her to call him. He quickly got up and grabbed his shirt, he had promised to always keep her safe.
When Clifford arrived at the location, he saw Daisy standing about fifty metres away from him, the place was dimly lit so he couldn't see her face but he could tell that she was the one. He found the atmosphere to be fishy, he hesitated a while before he eventually moved closer to Daisy. When he was finally close enough to see her face, he was shocked, Daisy's face and body was full of bruises, she had been tormented. Her weak legs were shaking, she could fall anytime. He quickly rushed to her and held her in his arms, he was overwhelmed with emotions of pity and anger.
"Who did this to you?" Clifford said with anger.
"No, no, no, you shouldn't have come?" Daisy shook her head with tears in her eyes.
"What do you mean?" Clifford was confused.
"I...I....I..am sorry!" Daisy said with a breaking voice. Clifford was still trying to understand why she was saying all that when silhouettes of people appeared, he was immediately alerted. He gently placed the weak Daisy on the floor at one side, he then faced the people that just came out of hiding.
"Who are you people?" He asked the bald young man that seemed to be the leader. His voice was filled with anger, he was aware that it was these men that had used Daisy to lure him, and he easily fell for the trap.
"I'm the infamous Max, and these people are my boys," Max said with a cold grin.
"Pfft! Well I've never heard of you!" Clifford sneered. He already found these people to be displeasing, he could tell that they were a strong group, it would be very difficult for him to defeat them but he was not afraid, he would fight them till his last strength.
Max was displeased by Clifford's reply, how could he not know him? He was very famous for notorious activities in the academy and he was quite proud of it. He had a urge to slap Clifford. "Well.....you know me now." He maintained his cold expression.
"Enough bullshit, why did you hurt her? You're going to pay for this." Clifford was really mad right now, his chest heaved with anger. Max's boys bursted into laughter when they heard what Clifford had said, they shook their head in pity. Clifford was unaware of the misfortune that would soon befell him.
"Yeah, Enough bullshit!" Max roared while he pointed his hands towards the ground, thick vines rose from under the ground and swarmed towards Clifford. Clifford was caught unaware by the power Max had used, he had never fought a plant mage so he wasn't familiar with how plant mages fought. He wasn't shocked for long, it was night, the perfect time for a shadow mage to fight, he easily avoided the vines that swarmed towards him by using the absconding shadow spell.
Max's boys were four in number and surprisingly, they were all intermediate rank mages, what even shocked Clifford was that, they were all plant element mages.
"This is going to be trouble," Clifford thought. If he did not figure out a plan to beat these fellas, he would likely lose to them if they managed to bind him with the vines. Even though he was now much more stronger than before, his offensive ability was still not enough to suppress these plant mages. His fire element was too weak to burn these vines, He wished he had been cultivating his Fire element too.
