"You seem busy these days, Sean" Anacia stated while she's pouring a tea to their cups. Sean was currently wearing his black suit when his fiance suddenly emerged from behind him, holding two cups of tea "I barely see your face" she added. Sean smiled as he faced his fiance. He accepts the cup that Anacia handed before kissing her forehead
"Don't worry, I'm free tomorrow. I'm all yours" he comforted his fiance.
"I don't really mind being apart from you for a long time, Sean. The problem is you're too busy. You need to at least take a rest"
Sean bit his lower lip as guilt struck him. For straight one week, Sean always leaves early and will come back late, making both him and his fiance can't even have a glimpse with each other. If Anacia didn't wake up early today, they surely won't be able to see each other again.
Sean is actually taking care of their businesses and other matters. Regarding the hostage they captured, Hanlon is taking care of him. From time to time, Sean still manages to have an update from Hanlon's side but after a week there's still no progress at all. His father is not making any move.
"I'll go now" Sean kissed the forehead of his fiance one more time before leaving. After the man left, Anacia's expression changed. She went back to her room and made sure that the door was locked. She even added a more secure lock just so that no one can enter, not even her fiance.
Anacia roamed her eyes around the room. She then went to her workplace. With a mug of coffee on her right side and a laptop in front of her, the sounds of typing on the keyboard filled the quiet room of the lady.
Instead of going to his office, Sean went straight to the abandoned place. This time, he'll make Esposito's son talk. It's actually pissing him off because he won't say a thing, not even his name. Sean wanted to torture the boy but Hanlon disagreed with him. He even still feed the hostage like it is some kind of puppet.
When he entered the room, he saw Hanlon and the hostage fighting with each other. Sean knitted his brows as he gritted his teeth when Hanlon got punched from the boy
'How the f*ck did this boy escape from being tied?!'
He was about to help the young man but Hanlon kicked the boy without any mercy "Don't interfere" he said without even looking at him
'So he knows that I'm here' he stated in his mind. Sean noticed the face of the hostage being covered with blood. He is wounded not just on his face but all over to his body. His left arm also seems to have broken already. Whereas Hanlon just has some bruises on his face.
The boy hadn't even got up from being kicked but Hanlon still went to him. The young man sat on the boy's stomach, he then punched the boy's face nonstop. Seeing the boy's situation, Sean couldn't help but to hold Hanlon's fist that was about to land again on the boy's face. Sean saw the looks on Hanlon's eyes. This is the first time he saw the young man being this merciless. Although he remain calmed, he felt a shiver down to his spine
"That's enough… You'll k*ll him" fortunately, Hanlon put down his fist
"I won," Hanlon declared before getting up, leaving both him and the boy. This time it seems like they'll switch role with his partner
Sean put their hostage back on the chair. Instead of tying him again, he just left the boy there. There's no way he can still escape in his situation.
"Don't expect me to treat you, kiddo. I'm as good as the person who beat you" he sighed before leaving the pathetic boy alone. Sean found Hanlon outside the building, staring at nothing. The man rolled his eyes, he then approached the daydreaming human
"What happened?" He asked right away. Although he still has feelings of uneasiness towards the other person, he has to talk to him. Only Hanlon can give him these kind of feelings
"We had a bet. If I win, he'll cooperate with us. If I lose, we'll let him go'' Hanlon beamed. Sean's eyes widened in surprise as he witness how fast Hanlon can change his attitude
'What the f*ck?!'
"And he agreed?! Are you nuts?!! Why would you make such a ridiculous bet?!!! What if you lose?!!!!" He yelled, making Hanlon pouted. In the middle of an abandoned place, two men were arguing as if they're blaming each other for why they got lost. Quite a sight
"I'm confident with my skills, you know?" Hanlon responded proudly. Before the other person could say anything, he left Sean hanging and dumbfounded as he went back inside.
'This kid is such a pain in the *ss'
Instead of going to his office as he planned, he decided to text his secretary that he won't be able to come because of a sudden emergency. Luckily, his secretary is such a reliable person and is the one who's been replacing him on doing some important matters whenever he's not available. Albert is basically his double
A place where everyone is wearing white coat, and the whole place is painted with white. People were working nonstop on their assigned task. None of them would dare to have a chat if it's not work related.
The place is a two-storey building. On the first floor, various machines can be seen that are being operated by many white coat people. Some of them were holding clipboards with pens on the other hand. While the others are observing, and making adjustments to the machines. All of them are so dedicated with their task that no one can ever provoke or bother them
The second floor is filled with rooms. Every room contains types of drugs that are being developed. Drugs as medicine for illness, and drugs as to use for temporary happiness. The second floor has a total of nine doors. Four for the medicines, and four for the addiction. Their factory is actually legally licensed since they develop medicinal drugs. Additionally, the owner of the factory is a big shot, making it possible for them to commit crime in the public eye. The 9th door on the second floor is the door that has a different plate color— every door on the second floor has plates with the name of drugs engraved on it. The four doors for medicinal drugs have gold plates, while the four for addiction have black plates. The door with red plates doesn't have any drugs, but a human tester. Inside the door with red plates and filled with alive humans who are being used to test the drugs they develop. Some of them are criminals that were purchased by the factory, while the others are patients in a hospital who can't afford to pay for their medication. Criminals were bought from the police station. After buying them, the station would make a false statement and scenario that the criminal took out their own lives. Before purchasing them, a background check would be done first, next to it is the negotiation, and lastly is a made-up story. On the other hand, patients are bought from their guardian or family. The director of the hospital will also make a false story and deceive the family into selling the patient. Others will still reject the offer but most of them, especially when talking about big amounts, would choose to accept the money.
Everyday is a constant torture for the people inside the room with red plate on the door. They are not allowed to die and yet they can't live. Too much pain and suffering, they couldn't think straight because of what they're feeling. All of their nerves are making them crazy. They would have hallucinations from time to time, and after a moment an unbearable pain would strike them from head to toe. They are also being tied up, making them unable to comfort themselves from the pain. Their tears had also dried up from crying nonstop everyday. Looking at them now, their physical appearance has changed so much that they don't look like humans anymore.
Today, another batch of human testers arrived. This time they are not criminals nor patients. They are one-third of the secret service agents that went missing. Some of them were unconscious while the others were still trying their best to save themselves. Without any mercy, the agents were thrown under the factory. Aside from the first and second floor, the factory has an underground place where they kept all the human testers. Since no one has died in the red plate room, they are temporarily being kept underground, without any food and water. To make sure they won't die during the times they're in the underground, they inject them with a serum first so that they can last long even without food and water. The serum will only keep them awake and would not treat their thirst or hunger. The underground place is where the warm up torture are being done.
"This is our end, right?" Jake asked hopelessly. He is part of an undercover team, under the squad of U01, led by Leon. All of them just got bruises from their fights. Some were wounded by a bullet.
"Naaah. This is just the beginning… The beginning of the new season of our story entitled, Endless Suffering" Reki joked. He is also part of an undercover team, and is the leader of the squad U04.
In the agency, their team will be determined based on what they chose to train for years. It is just like choosing a course or program in college, and after graduation you'll have work related to the program you've studied for years. After being able to enter a team, they'll be divided into squads. This time it'll vary with their performance. Every squad doesn't have the same number of members… The rankings only exist by individuals, and not by team or squad, as they believe that all of their jobs are equally important.
U01 to U06 squad were assigned to work undercover in a company that they've been looking after for months. The building and the whole is too big thus six squads from the undercover team were sent. In the U01 squad they sent seven people, both U02 and U04 sent twelve people, U05 sent ten people, and U06 sent five people, a total of 46 men from the undercover team. Each one of them plays a vital role in this mission. Everything was perfect and in place, but for some reason something went wrong. It was unexpected because it's impossible. It's too late for them to realize that the information they got was wrong—deliberately—and they all fell into the trap. The place they were sent to work undercover was a trap. The real one is the place where they are currently in.
"You should start writing our story now, Reki" Josh from U02 joined the conversation. Currently, there are a total of 55 people in the underground, including those considered as worthless or forgotten people.
"I feel like trash being not able to get all the information we need, and we even end up in this state" Earl said out of nowhere. The men, except those who are not part of the agency, turned their heads to him with a serious face. "If we will be able to get out of here alive, I'll shift into another team. Being undercover sucks" he added.
"Yeah, agree. But we can't deny that the dangers we face everyday are kinda fun" Reki chuckled
"I just hope Leon will be able to save us" Jake hopefully said while staring on the air. There are 46 of them that were sent to Italy to work undercover, but there are only 26 of them that were captured. The others are nowhere to be found while the others died during the fight when they were discovered. Leon was wounded but still managed to escape with the help of Jake and Reki. The thing is they really aren't sure of Leon's status, if he's still alive.
"You've got faith in your boyfriend, Jake" Reki teased.
"He's our only hope" Jake simply responded
"We still have the computer enthusiast team, though. Just admit you miss him" No matter what situation they are in, Reki will always have that attribute of him that makes the negative atmosphere decrease, it's part of his charm.
"It's true, but knowing this place, it's not surprising that our operative intelligence will take some time to find out where we are" Jake
"Yeah, whatever smart boy" Reki give up as he rolled his eyes
"Is it really true that Leon and Jake are dating? I thought Jake and Reki are in relationship" Lucas knitted his brows while waiting for the response of his co-workers
"I tried to pursue him but he keeps rejecting me" Reki dramatically wipes his fake tears. Looking at the latter, Jake couldn't help but to cringe
"You're an idiot if you believe any of his nonsense. I'm not dating anyone" Reki has been teasing Jake about his relationship with Leon, but this is the first time that Jake has defended himself "Me and Leon have been together since we were young as both of us came from the same orphanage" he added. The members just nodded their heads as their response while Reki pouted I'm disappointment
After some time of silence, a certain person in their team who rarely spoke suddenly broke the silence. They even sometimes forgot his existence
"The agency is known for its potential. Every single person in the agency is talented, skillful, and has high IQs. Even though you're a higher average person, it is still impossible to be accepted as a trainee. But these past few months, a lot of mistakes have been happening. All of our plans have failed. Another, we were injected with a serum that will keep us conscious despite the pain, the damage, the hunger, and such. I heard something about this serum before if I'm not mistaken" Andrie said while looking straight into the eyes of his colleagues. They didn't mind the other people hearing as they seem too busy minding their pain to listen to them
"You just opened two topics. I kinda feel happy hearing you saying a lot of words so let's take advantage of it now. What's your point?" Reki raised an eyebrow
"First, there might be a rat in the cats' territory. The state and the situation of the agency is too much to call it just a mistake. Even a stupid person couldn't possibly fail as much as what we are experiencing. Additionally, not just the undercover team have failed, every team in the organization are failing miserably" Andrie
"Wait— is that why you said, before we were sent to the mission, that we are dead because you actually know that it's a trap?" Lucas asked
"Kinda. I wasn't sure during that time"
"Do you have any idea who this rat is?" This time it was Jake who ask the question
"No"
"How about the serum? What have you heard about it?" Jake
"About the serum, it is actually used to torture a person. It keeps the person awake to make them feel the pain of torture. Even though you ripped the heart out, that person will still have his consciousness. Of course the serum should be injected continuously" Andrie explained in the simplest way he could. They looked at each with a disbelief on their faces. Who would have thought that a human would really make such serum. It's just so brutal
