Sighing, spacing out, sighing again, and drinking wine. It's already one week since Sean Sky Gwenu behaves that way. It's been one week since he started to open his wine collection to drown himself. And it's been one week since the day he found out that, Hanlon is indeed part of a Secret Service Agency. He couldn't accept it but he's not complaining. He looks miserable but not wasted. Still, anyone who will see his current state would think that he's broken hearted. Who would thought that the young man tell no joke when he said he's a secret agent. With his recklessness, appearance, attitude and being at the police station, of course he'll assume that Hanlon is a junior police officer.
While thinking about what he witnessed one week ago, Sean couldn't help but to feel frustrated. After glancing the Crystal champagne on his table, he drank it in one go and putted the wine glass on the table with a loud bang. Panting heavily, he gritted his teeth and messed up his hair using his right hand. His phone have been ringing for a nth times, but he pays no attention to it. There's no way he'll talk and see other people looking so ugly. With the big dark circles around his eyes, pale skin and drunken state, he'll be just the laughing stock of the crowd.
A knock on his door was heard, and opened it without waiting for his response. Sean's father, Lorenzo Gwenu, emerged with a furious looks. Sean only glanced at him and continued finishing his Crystal champagne. The old man roamed his eyes around the room, closed windows, dim light, and gloomy ambience, Lorenzo frowned and approached his son, he then grabbed Sean's collar
"What do you think you're doing, Sean?" he gritted. His hands were shaking while tightening his grip to his son's collar, his eyes look so deadly, and his voice would send a chill down to anyone's spine. But despite of the scary aura Mr. Lorenzo is giving, Sean only looked at his father with a bored face as he freed himself from the grasp. After fixing his clothes, he sat again and gulped down the wine, literally ignoring the whole world
"SEAN!" his father yelled. With a sleepy eyes, Sean turned his gaze to Mr. Gwenu "Why are you acting like this suddenly? Do you know how many pending works you have? You have never visited your fiancee and ignored our calls! Are you acting like a brat right now? Did that Police friend of yours influenced you---?" Mr. Gwenu was suddenly cut off from speaking when his son hit the table with a loud bang. Sean glared at his father as he stand up from his seat, gritting his teeth
"It's been only one week, stop acting like it's end of the world. I'll work tomorrow. Leave me alone" he said coldly while pointing the door.
"It's been only one week? You know we can't even waste a seconds of our time---" again, Sean didn't let him finish his sentence
"l'm different from you, Dad. No matter how long I waste my time, it won't effect anything in our business. I'm may not be a tyrannical person like you, but I can achieve more than what you've reached" without waiting his father's response, Sean left and entered the bathroom. Mr. Gwenu sighed in frustration, he was about to follow his son but stopped midway and decided to walk away from the condo. This is the first time Sean talked back and disobeyed him. Sean has always been an obedient son to them, he never acted like a rebellious child even after reaching the age of teenager. Despite Sean's cold aura, he always wear a warmth smile and pleased everyone around him. But after their conversation today, Mr. Gwenu couldn't recognize his son anymore.
'That man!'
Sean have been staring his phone for five minutes already. The phone keeps flashing on, as the screen shows an incoming calls from different people. There are also a lot messages but none of it caught the attention of Sean. His mind keeps wondering on what he should do. He wants to call Hanlon, but he doesn't have his contact number. Even though they are so close to each other, the two didn't exchange contact info. Either they forgot or they just don't want to. After another call popped up on his phone screen, he decided to turn it off and started cleaning himself. He doesn't know what would happen next, but for now he should at least just visits his fiancee first...
Enchanted Garden is one of the most favorite place of Anacia, it is located at the outside of their mansion. The place makes her mind feels refreshing and calm. The Enchanted Garden---comes from the name of it--- has a lot of different types of flowers, making the whole place looks beautiful and colorful. The scent of each flowers attracted butterflies, the trees helps to keep the area cool, a fountain that is eye-catching, and a white chair and table where everyone could enjoy the place while relaxing and drinking tea.
Anacia is currently rubbing the fur of her cat while watching the garden with a sweet smile on her face. Looking at the whole scene, anyone would want to live in such paradise. Anacia is wearing a long sleeve dress that covered the tip of her toes. Her skin compliments the milky color of her dress. After drinking her tea elegantly, a servant of Anacia whispered to her
"Lady Ana, your Fiance, Mr. Gwenu is here" Anacia stopped rubbing her cat and looked up to her servant.
"He visited? Let Sean come here" she ordered. Her servant obliged right away. Anacia continued to rub the cat's fur while waiting for Sean. She doesn't know why, but for some reason, her heart is beating faster as the seconds pass by. She never felt this way before, even after they became engaged
Anacia heard an approaching heels, and as the knocking heels becoming louder, she could feel the mix emotions building up inside of her. She doesn't know how to react, how to approach or what she should do. She's panicking inside her head
"Ana" Sean called her. Hearing her fiance's voice calling her name send a chill down to her spine. After regaining her composure, she faced her soon to be husband with a smile. Sean is wearing a white turtleneck, and a black coat, paired with a black pants and a leather shoes loafers. There's is no any single trace of Sean's miserable looks earlier
"You're here. Come, sit and join me" She gestured the chair in front of her. Sean gave a sweet smile to Anacia as he sit, opposite to his Future Mrs. Gwenu. Anacia secretly thanked the God for not stuttering after she spoke. Gulping down her nervousness, she served a tea to Sean and ordered her servant to bring a food for them
"I heard what happened to you. I'm glad seeing you today completely fine" she stated. Sean smile at the thought that Anacia was thinking of him. For some reason, his messed up head suddenly became cleared. His mind was filled of his fiancee's beautiful voice.
"I wasn't fine, not until I saw you and heard your lovely voice" for the first time, Sean made his fiancee blush. After noticing Anacia's face turning red, he didn't say any comments about it. He doesn't want to tease Anacia, for now... Sean turned his gaze to the cat on the lady's lap, and rubbed the fur of it. The cat meow in response making the two laughed.
"Don't runaway again, okay? You shouldn't make mommy worry about you" it's not intentional, but Sean just made Anacia's heart beats like crazy again. Sean didn't see it since he was looking at the cat while Anacia is trying to suppress her emotion
"Anyway... Sorry for not contacting you for one week. I'll make it up to you" Anacia was so immersed in staring to her future husband, when Sean suddenly looked at her, making her flinched
"Ah... It's not a big deal. Don't worry. Just take care of yourself. And if you need help, you can call me" after blinking a few times. Anacia manage to replied even though she's avoiding his gaze
'I'm not a teen anymore, and he is literally my fiance. Why am I feeling this way? Stop Over reacting, Anacia!' she scolded herself inside her head
"Are you busy right now?" Sean asked after sipping his tea
"I'm not doing anything. Why?"
"We barely have a quality time to each other, so I would like to ask you out. If it's okay" Anacia widened her eyes as she swallowed a large amount of saliva. Before answering, she took a sip from her tea first
"Sure. I would love to" She answered. Sean smiled sweetly as he stood up from his seat and offered his right hand to the lady. The two exited the Enchanted garden together to prepare for their date
On the other hand, a young woman who saw the whole scene gave a death glare to the lady. She's a servant of Chen household for four years already. She has as expressionless on her face, but her eyes tells every emotion that's hiding in her heart and mind. Wearing a servant dress in dirty white color, and messy bun hairstyles. Small figure of body and a pale skin. Despite her messy appearance, the girl's beauty can't still be hidden. With a clenching fist, she walked away from the place
'Hypocrite nobles'
Two servants helped Lady Chen to get ready for her date. The servants were giggling while changing the clothes of Anacia and doing her hair. They even tease her as the three girls looked at their reflection on the mirror. A chubby servant who's in her mid 40s and a thin girl who's almost twenty years old. The two are mother and daughter who work for the Chen for fourteen years already. They are one of the servants that Anacia see as her family. She is already too attached with the two that she doesn't want them to leave her side. Anacia's parents also already entrusted their daughter to them since the lady grew up with these two.
"Mr. Gwenu would probably fall deeper to you, Lady Ana" says Shelle, the daughter
"Of course! Who wouldn't fall to our lady. With her beauty and lovely personality, she's the standard!" Floria complimented and clapped her hands. The two servants caressed the hair of their lady as they finished doing her makeup.
After checking Anacia's appearance for the last time, they helped their lady stands up from her seat, and accompany her to the man who's waiting at the living room. When Sean noticed their presence, he immediately stood up. His heart was racing at the speed limit, his hands began to sweat, and his ears turned to red. Anacia is wearing an above the knee, one fourth sleeve, with a light color pink dress, paired with a pink stilettos. Her hair is in messy braided with a flower diamond clip. After gulping down, he awkwardly smile and approached them
"Y-you look stunning" Sean secretly cursed himself for stuttering. Anacia gave him a smile as she accepted her fiance's hands. The two bid farewell to the servants and left
The couple arrived at the fancy restaurant and started to enjoy their food. They were chatting casually and became comfortable to each other again. Sean would crack jokes while Anacia would laugh wholeheartedly.
After eating, they decided to watch a movie that just got released. Sean bought a popcorn and drinks for the two of them. After getting settled on their seats, they took a picture together while waiting for the movie to start. It was a mystery movie that both of them really enjoyed watching. They even had a deduction contest. When the movie comes to an end, Anacia was so happy, even though she failed to get whole answer right, her deduction score is still bigger than Sean's.
"That was fun! Mystery is really the best" Anacia beamed making Sean's heart skipped a beat. The man scratched the back of his neck and smiled at his fiance.
"Well, I'm glad you're having fun... So... Can you still make it to the park?" Sean shyly inquired while avoiding his gaze to the lady. Anacia giggled watching her fiance's adorable actions. Without any hesitation, she grabbed Sean and circled her arms around the man's.
"Let's go!" Anacia said excitedly and full of energy
5... 10... 15... 20... 25.... 30 minutes have passed but neither of the two said a single word. They just continuously roam their eyes around the room and steal a glance to each other. Only sounds of ticking clock, sighs, and tapping shoes can be heard in the four corners. Hanlon who respects the director of the Secret Service, didn't dare to show his immature side, and Charlie who feels awkward and has a bad news to tell, doesn't know how to start. Meanwhile, Anna who has been watching the two impatiently, decided to break the silence with a loud bang on the table using a book. The two flinched on their seats and turned their gaze to the secretary at the same time. Anna only gave them a sarcastic smile as she rolled her eyes to them. Charlie then cleared his throat making the young man looked back to the person in front of him.
"Shizi Hanlon" Charlie called in a serious voice. Hanlon nervously straighten his back as he maintained a straight face
"Yes sir" He responded stiffly. Charlie observe him for a while and sighed. He started to massage the bridge of his nose as he speaks
"How's the life at police station?" He asked. As much as possible, he doesn't want to get straight to the point yet. If he could only avoid the situation, he would definitely choose that one. But keeping his grip tight will only turn the worse into worst. Might as well just take a risk and trust his godson, that's the only way. For now, he wants to have a warmth conversation with Shizi. A conversation and moment together without thinking the problems of the world
"Ammm... Just fine" He responded awkwardly. Hanlon scratched his nape as he forced a smile. He doesn't know why, but for some reason, he feels like something good is going to happen. And he couldn't risk to lose it by acting impulsive in front of his superior
"That's good. Are you eating well? Did someone bully you? Are they giving you a hard time---" Charlie almost flew from his seat when his secretary suddenly hit his table. While Hanlon froze on the spot
"What are you? A father who's concern to his highschool son getting bully at the school?" Anna gave them a lopsided grin while Charlies pressed his lips together. Trying not to make his secretary became mad again. The crazy look in Anna's eyes will totally make you feel endanger
Hanlon furrowed his eyebrows as he constantly switch his gaze to his superior and to the secretary. He couldn't believe the scene he just witnessed. Women are really amazing. No matter how big the people they are dealing with, they can still intimidate them.
When Charlie noticed Hanlon's switching gaze, he kicked his legs under the table, and secretly telling him to stop. The young man pouted at him and bowed his head
"Hehehe... Anna, I just want to check on him" he explained and gestured the seat beside Hanlon. The young man widened his eyes after realizing that Charlie wants his secretary to sit beside Hanlon
Anna made herself comfortable on the seat. She crossed her legs and arms as she gives a deadly stare to her boss. Raising one of her eyebrows and maintaining a serious face. Hanlon beside her swallowed a large amount of saliva, secretly praying to got out of the room without any bone fractures
"Get straight to the point, Charlie. Stop chickening out" Anna demanded. Charlie frowned at her and turned her gaze to the young man who seems confused to the situation
"What is it?" the youngest in the room asked. Completely clueless
After sighing, Charlie looked straight to Hanlon's eyes. The boy got taken aback seeing the helpless look of the director. Charlie's plan on having fun with his godson for awhile just screwed because of his secretary. But what can he do? He doesn't want to have a dislocated bones
"Listen carefully, Shizi" he started. As the seconds passed by, Hanlon couldn't help but to anticipate on what the director will say next
"It's been awhile since I sent you out, Shizi. From now on, you are officially part and will work for our agency. Welcome back to the team, Shizi Hanlon, Agent Lynx"
