Masie and I just bs as Ashley and Matteo talk, things are still a little awkward. However, just as we started relaxing Ashley and Matteo walk back. Masie stands and hugs Matteo, I go to grab Ahsley's hand but she pulls her hand away. I frown,
"Whats wrong?" I ask.
"We need to break up" She whispers.
"What?" I ask my heart beating quickly.
"I'm sorry, but we are over" She mumbles awkwardly.
"What about our agreement?" I ask frowning.
"It's over, done with" She says handing my flowers back to me. I can feels tears welling in my eyes. John is going to kill me.
"That's it, I'm dead" I whisper sitting on a bleacher, my hands going to my head.
"Dead?" Masie asks frowning small.
"John is going to kick me out, or worse" I whisper.
"John?" Matteo asks.
"His step-dad" Ashley and Masie whisper at the same time.
"That night, he had hit you didn't he?" Matteo asks. I just look up at him with tears in my eye, however, I don't vocalize a yes, but they all know.
"Luke.." Masie says sitting next to me, "Why didn't you tell me?" she asks hugging me.
"Tell you what? Parents can smack their kids around" I whisper.
"Have you ever missed school from him smacking you around?" Matteo asks.
"Yeah.." I whisper staring down.
"Damnit" Ashley whispers, "There has to be a better way Matteo that we do this" Ashley says sitting down on the other side of me.
"Do what?" I question.
"It's time Matteo" Masie says her hand on top of mine.
"Time?" I ask frowning.
"Luke, you're my mate" Matteo says staring down at me.
"Mate? What is a mate?" I ask "Is that some slang term?"
"No" Ashley mumbles.
"I'm a werewolf" He whispers, "So are Ashley and Masie"
"Werewolf?" I question "That's not funny"
"It wasnt a joke" Matteo says grabbing my hand and making me stand, he stares into my eyes, "We are destined to be together forever"
"What?" I ask, my cheeeks heating up. "Forever?"
"I dont think he gets it" Ahsley mumbles.
"Get what?" I mumble looking between the three of them.
"Fuck!" Matteo growls running his hand through his hair.
"What in the world is going on? I know this is just a joke!" I laugh looking over at Masie.
"Luke please, we can prove it" Masie whispers to me.
"How?" I ask frowning.
"Just trust me" She says grabbing my hand reassuringly.
"How? How can I trust you? Any of you?" I ask my frown deepening.
"I know Luke" Matteo mumbles kneeling down in front of me as I sit on the bleachers again, "But I'm begging you to trust me"
"Prove it to me, that I can trust you, and then I will" I whisper as our eyes just stare into each other.
"You can trust me" Masie whispers letting go of my hand.
"No, I can't Masie. Because your first reaction to me possibly being gay, was negative. Now you want me to be gay? I don't understand" I mutter glaring at her.
"What about me, Luke, we've become good friends the past week, right?" Ashley asks.
"Yeah, but, you knew about this the whole time, if this is true, how can I trust you?" I mutter now glaring at her.
"Thats enough" Matteo says standing up, he pulls me up with him.
"I can prove it, but not here, let's go" He mumbles as he starts to walk off with my hand in his. I follow him, however, I try to pull my hand away but he doesnt let go. Once we get to the parking lot Matteo finally lets go og my hand. I have to admit, it felt nice holding his hand.
"Ashley, with me. Masie go with Luke and show him where we are meeting" Matteo mumbles, getting into his car, Ashley following him into his car.
"I can drive us in your car if you want?" Masie asks with a soft smile.
"Sure, whatever. Just don't kill us" I mumble tossing her the keys. We get in and she starts her up. The radio was silent. As she pulls out of the parking lot I just stare out the window. This has to be some sick joke. Werewolves aren't real. Next thing you're going to tell me vampires are real! Thats even more insane. I don't know why they think they can trick me, but it isn't going to work.
As we drive Masie keeps trying to make small talk. However, I stay silent. Finally she turns on the radio. Some random song is playing, I really don't know the song but I'm not really paying attention to it either. My eyes are staring out the window. Taking in our surroundings. We are getting further and further out of town, though, it looks familiar where we are going. We are headed towards Matteo's home.
"Why are we going to his?" I ask frowning as I finally look at her.
"Just trust us, please" She begs keeping her eyes on the road.
"Whatever" I sigh looking out the window again.
About five minutes later we arrive to the cabin Matteo held his party at. As we get out I sigh, seeing Matteo's car there already.
"Come on" Masie whispers leading me inside. Once we are inside we are greeted by Matteo and two slightly elder people. I'm assuming his parents.
"You must be Luke" The lady spoke with a soft smile.
"Yes mom, that's Luke. Please help" Matteo whispers.
"So Matteo told you our little secret, huh?" The male spoke.
"You have to be kidding me" I mumble.
"We aren't" The lady said sighing small, "I know this is a lot to process"
"I still don't believe, this isn't proof" I hiss, "I'm going home"
"Luke wait" Matteo says grabbing my hand, "I'll transform for you"
"What?" I ask turning back to face him.
"Come outside to the backyard and I'll prove it to you" Matteo says kissing my cheek, "Please handsome"
I just stare at him, my cheeks going red as he kisses the left side. Did he really just call me handsome? Biting my lower lip I just nod. Matteo nods and sighs in relief before grabbing my hand and leading me outside. Once we get outside to the backyard I sit in the spot Matteo and I first kissed. I stare at him, watching his every movement.
"Ready?" He asks, I just nod. I stare at him, within seconds his body started to crack and pop, it was quiet gruesome. Now, standing in front of me, a giant wolf.
"Holy fuck!"
