"The Neverland" is a big country, where people are living simply and peacefully, the sea makes its way down the valley, the trees are limitless in height, and the flowers covers everything, and the open area where people get to open their shops and sell things is way vast than the other countries, in the center lays the wonderful paintings of spiral shapes colored in purple and yellow forming a great sun in the middle, as well as for the roads which are being trapped from the two sides, where shops are placed, and at the end, the road is connected to a long viaduct that reach a special land where the castle is located, it's an enormous building with its headings touching the sky, including a huge garden that wraps the castle, as for the entrance, it is royal with its gateway colored in gray and the guards are surrounding the castle at every side. Behind the castle, there is a building where the army get to train, work, and rest.
Yes, this is "The Neverland" with all its beauty, but at the seaport things get different when a new ship arrives from the other side of the land bringing pessimism for the people, it was never a beautiful thing of "The Neverland" the people like to show.
People at the other side, were depressed, unhappy of the war that led them to this situation. Actually, it's not the first time the people from the other side immigrate to their country and to the other neighboring countries and despite that the people there are considered magicians but those people were way stronger than them. Unfortunately, war never ends at the other side of the land especially that after they took their land they secure it with the magic ball that is located high in the sky making a yellow cover that contain the land's boundaries.
As for the people coming from "The Green Region", are known from the beginning of the war and from a long time ago that they resort to "The Neverland".
And now another ship is arriving, from the people who were on board, a young girl with an impressive eye color which are a cross between blue and green called Anna closed her eyes letting the air tickling her wavy hair, being hopeful of having a normal life again with her brother "John", considering it a new beginning for ten years old children.
_ "Anna" John putting his hand on her shoulder.
_" Yeah" Anna turning around.
_" Your eyes are glowing yellow again" John said.
_" OH, still trying to control it, but it's hard" Anna putting her hands on her face.
_" Way better now" John smiled after Anna's eyes returned normal.
_" John, do you think we are going to have a normal life here?" Anna hoping to hear a satisfying answer.
_" I hope so, but first you need to know how to control your magic, or else it will cause troubles, especially with a two glowing eyes that terrifies everything" John said.
_" I will try my best" Anna said.
After the ship anchored at the seaport, Anna and John got of the ship with a group of people from their country, they entered to "The Never land" holding their few things, and going into the city.
As they were passing through, they catched the look of the people, they were looking in ominous, unpleasant way, while they whisper:
_" There comes the strangers" two women whispering.
_" Don't tell me a new ship has arrived" a man talking to his neighbor.
For Anna walking into the city was disappointing, not what she was expecting. Afterwards, they arrived to a spot where they saw eight horse-drawn vehicles waiting to carry them to the countryside where the people of "The Green Region" usually inhabit as their home after their country has been destroyed under the hands of those cruel, ruthless, brutal people. They ruined everything, killed many women and children, demolish every life could be in every single flower. As a result, war took from them their childhood, happiness, and memories.
After getting out from the horse-drawn vehicles, Anna and John were introduced to a place that is rolled by Mrs. Barbara, as the advertising board shows.
The place was an old building, an old hotel, but a big one, looking at it is like looking at a dark shadow, it's the place that keeps people who arrives from "The Green Region" till they find work. Subsequently, Anna and John entered the hotel, confused and lost, all by themselves, no one to take care of them, they need to follow the people they came with to survive because their parents died trying to get them on board. Despite of the crowd and the obstruction of the big number of people arriving and because they were distributing food, it was hard for kids to reach any, for that Anna was thinking of a way to get food without distraction.
_" Anna what are you doing?" John asked, while Anna was moving her hand to use her magic.
_" Just relax, I'm hungry know" Anna replied.
_" Well, we can get food without making troubles" john said with a worried look on his face, "And it's not the perfect time to practice your magic at all" John continued.
_" Just a minute" Anna moved behind John, and a yellow sparkle appeared from her hands with her eyes glowing yellow as will.
As John was scared that someone could catch them or see them, Anna was focusing her power on the piece of bread that is on the table among the crowded people. Finally, she was able to grab the bread as it flows down carefully so that no one can notice it, and dropping it into the hands of John who bend over taking it quickly and hiding it under his clothe.
_" Yes, I did it" looking happily to john.
_" After we eat it, I will kill you" john said with a heavy gaze, allowing himself to has the first bite.
Anna and John are sitting beside the corner sharing the piece of bread they got, and after they finished, the organizer was dividing people in rooms and told all the kids that they will be sharing one room.
Imagine more than 15 kid will be living in the same room till someone feels compassion toward them and take them over. Anna and John get up holding their only two bags they could bring with them from home. And as they are preparing themselves to go up with the other kids. Suddenly, a woman came wearing a nice flowy dress with her blonde hair raised up to the back and a few tendrils of hair reaching her shoulders.
_" You, girl" the women standing behind Anna grapping her attention to turn.
_" What is your name?" the woman said.
_" I'm Anna, mam" surprised.
_" You look strong; I can sense a girl with a good leading skills" the woman said.
_" Come to my office when you settle your things down" the woman continued and holds her dress to leave without hearing any answer of confirmation.
After the woman left, john looked to Anna and said:
_" What does she mean by saying that she senses a leading skill" John looking nervous "OH, what if she means your magic, what if she saw you" John continued as he was startled and scared.
_" Don't be nervous, she didn't saw me I'm sure" Anna replied trying to show no fear, but from the inside she doubts what he said.
When they entered to the room, and had a corner to put their bags and sit, Anna moved directly downstairs to ask about the weird woman that talked to her, she saw a man standing near the stairs and decided to ask him.
_" Excuse me sir, I want to ask you if you know a woman with a blond hair and a flowy dress" Anna said.
_" oh, you mean Mrs. Barbara?" the man replied.
_" what, isn't she the owner of this hotel?" Anna said timidly.
_" Yes, that's right she is the owner of this hotel, and her office is right there" the man pointing to the door that is against them.
At this point, Anna felt scared and a lot of questions were governing her mind as she walked toward the office she tried to control herself and her magic, not bloom in a minute of fear. When she knocked the door, a soft voice came from the inside saying:
_" Come in" Mrs. Barbara said.
_" Hi Mrs. Barbara, I'm Anna you told me to come to your office" Anna talking quietly.
_" Oh yes, come sit down" Mrs. Barbara replied.
Anna setting down gently with her hands strapped together, and her face turning red.
_" You and your brother are special, for kids coming without an observer usually go with anyone who's welling to help" Mrs. Barbara said putting her hands on the table, "but for you and your brother, what is his name?".
_" John" Anna answered but her lips were shivering.
_" John, then" Mrs. Barbara continued "Does he has superpowers like you?" looking to Anna cautiously.
When Mrs. Barbara said that, Anna got of her chair and shouted:
_" Noooo" and preceded "if you don't want us her, we'll leave soon, but please leave me and my brother alone" ending her talk, and turning against the door to leave, and when she opened the door, the door was shut by itself and locked. This made Anna to turn back again and seeing Mrs. Barbara waving with her hand toward the door.
_" You have a bad temper young lady" Mrs. Barbara said "At least let me finish my speech".
_" You are a magician; did you use magic right now?"
_" yes, I'm like you, I can use magic, and as we all know magic exists, right?" Mrs. Barbara talking calmly.
Anna stood their silently, but relaxed after Mrs. Barbara reviled her magic.
_" You used your magic, I saw that in the lobby, indeed I have an offer for you, and if your brother is a magician too it will make things better" Mrs. Barbara talking in a pleasant way "what do you think, of me being your helping observer?" Mrs. Barbara ending her conversation with a smile. Then, Mrs. Barbara gave Anna a small paper sending her free without taking an answer from her.
The next day, Anna was outside with John discovering the area, and looking worry whether she should trust Mrs. Barbara or not.
_" Why you don't want to tell me what she said for you?" John said curiously.
_" I will tell you, but let me think first" Anna replied.
_" what are you thinking off?" John irritated.
_" Ok, ok, Mrs. Barbara knows about my magic" Anna said.
_" what, are you serious, did she saw you yesterday, she did isn't she, we are doomed" John said anxiously.
_" Don't worry, she is not going to hurt us, instead she offered to be our helping observer" Anna said briskly.
_" Helping observer??" john is puzzled.
_" Yeah, because we came alone, and by the way she is a magician too" Anna said while walking freely.
_" what! she is a magician too?" John is amazed while following Anna.
_" Yes she is" Anna talking slowly.
_" ok, now everything is complicated, maybe I should've not known that" john said feeling scared and confused.
Anna is continuing her way toward the woods, going deeply and crossing the river, as for John can't understand what is she doing, and were is she going. After a long walk, Anna stopped near a small cave with two crossing sides, the cave was dark and hidden by the trees, and when they entered they heard the sound of the flowing water, and a loud voice of kids playing and shouting, when they reached the end of the cave, they saw a clear area, where in the left there is a river and in the right there is a small house, while Anna and John are still astonished looking up to the sky seeing a huge enclosed hills surrounding the place and concealing it carefully, then they saw Mrs. Barbara with three children by her side.
_" You made it to here" Mrs. Barbara said delightfully.
_" Hi Mrs. Barbara, I did what you've told me" Anna said confidentially.
_" Welcome dear, glad that you accepted my offer with your brother" Mrs. Barbara said as she comes closer to Anna and John.
_" why I'm the only one who's lost and can't understand anything, and you didn't even ask me whether I accept or not "John looking sadly to Anna.
_" You wouldn't accept, so I decided to show you" holding John's hands "I'm sorry, but she actually knows about your powers too" Anna giving John a slightly smile so that he can forgive her.
_" You told her about my powers!?" John shouted and left Anna's hands.
_" John don't be mad of your sister, if she has told you, you wouldn't accept to come especially that I know about your powers too, but I'm friendly and I need you to trust me as your sister and those kids did" Mrs. Barbara said touching John's shoulders lowering herself to face John, "look there, it's Felicity, Roland, and Briar, and they are also magician" Mrs. Barbara pointing at the two kids in the river and the one who was standing beside her, as they stood listening to their conversation.
Felicity with a wet short black hair, and brown eyes, wearing a dress designed with a lined lace from the two sides of the dress at the top of it, and it's colored in beige, and for Roland who was standing next to her, his blond hair was also wet, having the water reflecting his beautiful blue eyes making them amazingly shining, wearing a green shirt coordinating it with white pants. Also for Briar, standing behind Mrs. Barbara, wearing a yellow shirt with a light blue pants and brown boots.
_" Hi I'm Felicity, and this is Roland" pointing at her left, "and this is Briar" getting her finger down after pointing to Briar.
_" Wish you kids get along and be friends, John and Anna this house over there is your home from now on" Mrs. Barbara said optimistically.
At night, the kids and Mrs. Barbara went to their rooms, there was two separate rooms, one for girl and one for boys. For Anna and John things was moving fast, new town, new home, new friends, eventually there was warm hands to keep them warm and good minds to keep them good.
After six months, Mrs. Barbara was teaching them how to use their powers and control it. But Mrs. Barbara was aiming for something else behind taking the kids and take care of them and teach them, and actually she wasn't going to keep it a secret from them because she need them to help her as she was telling them the last time they were training.
_" Guys Mrs. Barbara wants us together in her office" Felicity shouted, so they can hear her down the river, "It's the time she been telling us about" she resumed.
_" Ok than let's go" Anna said facing John and Briar.
When they entered to the house, Roland was waiting them beside Mrs. Barbara's office.
_" Ok guys are you ready?" Anna heads to the beginning and knocked the door.
_" Come in, my kids" Mrs. Barbara giving them the permission to enter.
_" Hello Mrs. Barbara" all of them greeting Mrs. Barbara in one voice.
_" Hello my lovely kids, you can sit, so we can start our conversation" Mrs. Barbara waving her hand guiding them to the couch.
They sat on the couch silently, waiting for the good or maybe bad news, which will make them choose if they are going to stay or leave.
_" Because it's hard to regain trust, and because I want to be honest with you all, I'm willing to tell you why I chose you from the beginning" Mrs. Barbara asserted," the hotel, the food, this place, the "Green Region" people that came homeless and helpless like you, I couldn't afford all that, and the government was sending no help, just someone or as I can say rare people in this area got to help us a little bit, but after all they are no rich and living a simple life like us, despite that it has been a decade from the time that our people came to here and still coming, but the government of " The Neverland" refused us and still refusing to recognize us as their citizens" Mrs. Barbara paused to give the kids the chance to understand what is going on.
When Mrs. Barbara said how people did refuse them and still refusing them, Anna remembered the scene when they arrived and walked in front of people, and how their looks were disturbing, but now she knew that it was a hate look rather than a wondering look.
_" So, what have you done to make all of this happen?" Anna said looking at Mrs. Barbara waiting for a word that can confront them from this disappointing discussion.
_" I used my powers" Mrs. Barbara said.
_" How did you do that; and how can I use my powers to help my people?" Anna standing up from her seat.
_" Keep calm, and let me continue and I'll going to tell you how" Mrs. Barbara referring to Anna to take her seat again.
Anna obeyed Mrs. Barbara and sat, while the others are still startled of what they have heard.
_" The only way was to steal using my powers to help my people survive" Mrs. Barbara said," I was alone when I first got her, and I was a child like you, I didn't want anyone to feel what I felt, so I decided to do that with a help of a friend I got to know later on, we usually go to the city were the selfish rich people live and I'm still doing that to keep you and our people safe" Mrs. Barbara said desperately.
_" Why can't we go to our home, our town and help our people with the magic we have?" Roland asked.
_" What is there is out from our limits, maybe you kids didn't realize, but who are there, and who are destroying our country are magicians too, and not like any magicians, they are seasoned, in spite of being more than one group, my son" Mrs. Barbara catched her breath, and held a cup of water to drink, then she continued "All the people knows that magic exists, but it's unique and strange for people to see a magician walking around normally, for that we hide ourselves".
_" So to be able to help our country we need to be many, and have powers" Felicity said.
_" Yes, maybe one day we will be able to save our country from those monsters, as for finding magicians it is not easy and as I said magicians exists but are rare, indeed I found you five regardless the number of people I saw from the past years till this day" Mrs. Barbara said.
The children were sitting looking amazed to each other, thinking of the risks they have to face to be able to live.
_" Now and after a long time, I'm getting tired from all of this and I can't continue by myself, I needed supporters, I need You" Mrs. Barbara preceded "So, will you accept to help me?".
It was a hard decision to take, a lot of questions were stuck in their minds, will they be able to give help, will they be strong enough for this responsibility, will they not be caught, is it the right thing to do, is it the only way to survive?
