Chereads / Blind System / Chapter 4 - Fragmented scythe

Chapter 4 - Fragmented scythe

Several minutes of silent walking, Tang Zhan and Wan Fu got to an old looking rundown shop, it's signboard hanging by only a nail.

Entering the shop, they were met by an old man, slouched from old age, his beards and hair completely white and wearing a blue free shirt with cream shorts.

"young lady, how may I help you, has the village chief sent you here, do you want to buy something?" the old man, immediately became energetic after seeing the village chief daughter.

"my friend over here would like to get a weapon" the man finally noticed someone else was in the shop, and looked at the boy whose eyes were closed.

'uhn, a boy is the friend of the young lady' thinking about this the old man stroked his long beards.

Tang Zhan removed a piece of translucent paper and gave it to the man. The man collected and read the paper.

"you need a scythe, but you will be preparing the materials"

"yes!" Tang Zhan was happy with the tone the man used to talk to him, as it indicated he wouldn't disagree.

"don't worry I'll pay for the materials, how would someone with no weapons find materials in the forest" Wan Fu said while bringing out a pouch from her storage ring.

Dipping her hands into the pouch, she asked, "how much for the scythe?".

"normal weapons of the dark silver grade, most times cost between 100 gold coins, but a scythe is rare and complex, so it cost 150 gold coins, and again the letter is from the village chief, it says for free but he would provide the materials, so price for the materials would be 100 gold coins"

The man said why sheepishly scratching the back of his head.

'isn't this man too talkative? Maybe that's why he doesn't have customers.' Tang Zhan questioned the sanity of the man.

"okay, take" Wan Fu handed the blacksmith a 100 gold. After collecting the money he started leading Tang Zhan you the scythe section.

Tang Zhan could see the difference between the quantities, as the scythes only numbered within 20.

"although I'm meant to make you a scythe, but it can take weeks before it gets ready, so i advice you pick from my already made scythes"

The blacksmith sincerely advised Tang Zhan, and he in an appreciating gesture nodded towards the man.

Walking past the scythes one by one, Tang Zhan relied on his Qi sense to check the quality of the scythes, don't judge a book by it's cover. Getting to the end of the shelf, he sensed and ominous aura radiating from something.

Even without using his inverted sight, he could see the shape of the weapon just from the aura surrounding it, and it was a scythe.

"sir, us there anything behind the shelf?"

The man's eyes suspiciously widened, as he didn't expect a blind man at the 1st level body refinery to be able to find something that even the young lady, who's a 5th level nascent expert couldn't.

"y... yes there is, but everyone who buys it returns it and asks for double payment, and this has been happening even before my grandfather was born... I'm not sure you should buy it, it has even been labeled as trash"

The man made sure he explained in great detail before pulling out a rusty looking scythe.

'uhn, there was something there and I didn't even know, how strange' Wan Fu thought to herself.

The scythe was so old that rust was falling from the blade and the wooden handle looked like it could break at anytime.

Wan Fu, looked and wanted to reject the scythe, but Tang Zhan who was oblivious to the scythe appearance, lunged for the scythe.

Getting closer to the scythe Tang Zhan could feel as if the scythe was sealed, but still yet the amount of energy leaking from it was more than he could fathom.

"I want it!"Tang Zhan snatched it from the man's hand and held it in one hand, then he faced Wan Fu and bowed.

"thanks again for your help, if I'm given the chance to help you I would gladly take it" Tang Zhan said while bowing with his free hand on his chest and the one holding the scythe at his back.

"no need to thank me, I know you're a good person... I've used up my time I have to head back, see you!" Wan Fu with a final wave, walked out the door.

The blacksmith also have the 100 gold coins back to Tang Zhan and said, "I don't think the scythe is worth selling, I would feel guilty if I collected this money".

Tang Zhan obviously collected the money, after all who would reject money. He too pulled out the normal steel grade sword he got from the VIP package, and gave it to the man.

'This should at least cost 5 silver, this profit is better than keeping that waste' the man smiled and watched Tang Zhan leave.

No words were spoken as Tang Zhan left the shop...

[rep points: 30]

[Damaged scythe (dark silver)

level: 1

dmg: 3-5

"the f**k! The damage is ×5 lower than the sword I gave that man. He would have collected 100 gold for nothing" Tang Zhan immediately went on rage, but he was too far to go back to the man's shop.

"but why was it releasing that aura, was it just to fool players" Tang Zhan decided to solve this matter later and instead went to where he cultivated earlier.

[Qi: 103/200]

[half of qi cultivated will now go to scythe]

[Qi: 116/200]

After four hours of continuous cultivation, Tang Zhan heard a different notification.

[Ding... you have absorbed enough qi for a breakthrough]

[breakthrough incomplete, prerequisite;

Qi: 100%

comprehension: 0%

[comprehension is the state of understanding and practising, with enough comprehension one can breakthrough, learn skills, increase proficiencies. One can get comprehension through the use of cultivation resources or treasures, through fighting life and death conditions, if brain capacity is enough to comprehend]

[do you want to try natural comprehension; brain comprehension]

[yes/no]

Tang Zhan although bothered by this, did not hesitate to reply, "yes".

[information will now be sent to your mind for comprehension]

In Tang Zhan's mind, words flowed in, some forming pictures, others videos, but they all pointed to one thing. A body refiner is someone who absorbs the qi of the world to strengthen their own bodies, to make it strong enough to handle core formation.

Core formation is a process where a person's lower dantian suddenly develops and starts storing qi.

So basically speaking, if one was to just absorb qi it is only going to glow in and out of the body, but body refiners absorbs qi into their skin, muscle, organs and bones to make it stronger so qi won't be able to escape the body.

Instead it will then be guided towards the lower dantian that has become a core, making it a qi core, beasts and other creatures have it as well, beasts own are called beast core.

[Ding... Tang Zhan has fully comprehended]
