Chapter 50 - It's a secret

My Pov

When I had finished cooking and decided to go for a walk, I unexpectedly ran into Emilia, who appeared relieved to see me.

After that, Emilia came over to me and said, "I was knocking on your room earlier, but you didn't answer."

I just smiled and said, "I'm busy preparing something for Alice's arrival later."

"Oh, I thought you were going to sneak out of this hotel without me knowing and leave me here all by myself."

Emilia said this while heaving a sigh, and her facial expression was a little off. This time her eyes didn't seem to want to look directly at me, and her hands couldn't stop moving as if she was trying to hide something.

After that, however, I'll leave it alone for the time being and won't bother trying to ask Emilia about it. Instead, I'll invite her to join me in the dining room.

We both arrived in a dining room specially designated for me during my stay at this hotel for a few days, so no one else was seen at any of the other tables.

I can make out the figures of Alice and Sascha from a considerable distance away. They are presently occupying one of the chairs by the window, which provides a breathtaking view of the city.

I could also see Cleir standing off the side, and it appeared as though she was conversing with Alice and Sascha about something.

When Alice and Sascha saw Emilia and I walk in, they immediately reacted in a different manner. Cleir, on the other hand, could only slightly droop her head and retreat a few steps when she saw us.

"How was your day Alice?."

While I was rubbing Alice's head, I said with a small smile on my face that I knew she was still feeling irritated in her heart because of what had happened this morning.

I turned my attention to Sascha while I was softly stroking Alice's head, and I said.

"You've worked hard too, Sascha, and I appreciate your help today."

When she heard my praise, Sascha, who had been smiling the entire time, added a big smile and slightly nodded her head.

"What I did was nothing, young master, hehehe."

However, after that, Emilia and I sat down at the dining table, and after that, I gave Cleir instructions to bring the food that I had prepared in the kitchen.

"What exactly are your plans? Earlier, that woman had stated that you were making something, particularly for me to look forward to."

Alice inquired with a wary expression, but even so, she was unable to conceal her interest from the tone of her question.

I just responded in a tone that was neutral and said, "your lunch today..."

Alice cut me off before I could finish my sentence by saying, "Is there anything particular to note about that? Did you make something that I love, like my favorite dish?"

"Yeah, I guess you could say that, but I prepared everything myself."

As soon as there was a pause in the conversation at the dining table, I could make out the shocked expressions on the three of them, particularly on Emilia and Alice's faces.

"So that means you were in the kitchen earlier, right?"

Emilia asked as if she had just had an epiphany, and the tone of her voice clearly conveyed the shock that she was feeling.

"So why? Are you not planning to eat it?"

"Just so you know, my abilities in the kitchen are light years away from those of the chefs back home, and in the future, I won't be doing any cooking again."

I said it in a low voice while looking at each of them in turn, and when I was satisfied with how they were reacting, I let out a small laugh while casually leaning back in the chair.

Alice's tone of voice was upbeat, and her demeanor appeared to have returned to normal as she exclaimed, "Of course, I will eat the food that Big Brother has worked so hard to make," in a positive tone of voice.

However, after that, she continued by saying, "don't worry, big brother, I'll say it's good no matter what."

When Alice voiced her concerns, I noticed that she had a smirk on her face. However, I couldn't help but smile gently at her behavior because of how she acted.

While this was happening, Sascha appeared to be lowering her head, and her body was trembling slightly. Before I could tease her about it, Emilia, who was sitting next to me, asked an unexpected question.

"hey Hadrian, Is there anything new I should know about the Aktuell family? It's been more than a month already. If this keeps up, I won't be surprised if a war of some sort breaks out!"

When I heard this, I simply responded nonchalantly by saying, "actually, I got a letter from them a few days ago."

"So, what do they say in response?"

"it's a secret..."

I said this while bringing up the tip of my index finger in front of my mouth, displaying a smirk at that moment.

The three of them who had paid close attention and were eager to acquire a genuine understanding of the response could only be led to feel let down.

Cleir arrived shortly after that with the food, and due to the fact that I had prepared a wide variety of dishes, Cleir needed the assistance of other members of the hotel staff in order to transport the food.

Once again, the three of them were taken aback because the finished dish did not appear to be in as bad of shape as they had anticipated, and it even piqued their interest in giving it a try because the aroma was already very enticing.

I was the first person to take the food after the hotel employees had left, leaving only Cleir, who was standing behind me.

"enjoy your meal."

Because I know what I'm doing in the kitchen, I eat like a beast and don't give a damn about what other people think.

During this time, Alice is attempting to sample one of her favorite meals, which consists of meat made from a magical animal wrapped in vegetables.

The moment Alice took a bite, she was immediately taken aback, and she made it a point to convey her astonishment to me by saying.

"Why is it that your food is superior to that of the chef at home? How is that even possible?"

I just remained silent and made the decision to simply ignore the situation. In the meantime, Emilia and Sascha had begun to sample the food as well, and similar to Alice, they were both surprised by the flavor.

"Thank you, young master, for the delish food. I believe I can finally die in peace now."

Sascha expressed her excitement, but Emilia remained silent and did not respond because, as is her habit, she was too embarrassed to admit it.

After that, the four of us sat down for a while to eat lunch, and when it was almost over, I stabbed a white ball of dessert with a fork to take it from the plate.

I then turned around and fed it to Cleir's mouth, who had been standing still and watching the four of us eat lunch.

Cleir's initial reaction to my actions was one of surprise, but after that, she joyfully removed her veil and opened her mouth in preparation for my feeding.

I noticed Cleir's cheeks turning red after she finished her dessert, but I also noticed the smile she was trying to cover up while she chewed her food.

Ignoring Alice, Emilia, and Sascha as they looked at me with a variety of expressions, I got up from the chair and walked out of the dining room. It was natural for the three of them to be surprised by my actions. However, It makes no difference to me what response they give.
