Their dinner went smoothly, with a few talks that Qiang initiated and a few questions that Lijuan had in mind.
She couldn't help the questions suddenly flooding her mind like a bunch of tigers that suddenly got out and experienced the outside world.
Of course, Qiang answered her very seriously, and Lijuan couldn't help but overthink what she thought about the guy.
Was his action toward Xiaohui true, or was it only to show towards their grandfather?
With his answers, she couldn't help but feel a bit bad, as the cousins probably felt suffocated by how the old Master Zheng handled the family.
"Thank you for accepting the dinner date."
Qiang thanked her as he opened the door for Lijuan. The woman smiles at him and walks out first before Qiang pulls out the key to his car from his pocket.
But their pathway was blocked suddenly by a blank van. Qiang's instinct was quick as he put himself in front of Lijuan.
His eyes widen when the man from earlier goes out with a bandage on his head, and three more men go out behind him with baseball bats in their hands.
"Is it them?"
"Yes, brothers! That man swings a wine bottle on my head, and the woman doesn't want to go with me!"
The man with the bandage said this, his fingers pointing at the two in front of him. Qiang couldn't help but feel a little scared, but he suddenly felt a little brave when Lijuan's hands held his suit tightly.
"What do they want?"
"Hey! Why are you still here!? Do you still want to get your head beaten?"
Qiang's loud voice continued to get softer as the three men finally went out of the van. It was a bit dark, so he couldn't see the man's backup.
His face suddenly got white when he saw how big the three were compared to him. He looks at their bodies before looking at his arms and smiling widely at them.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Ah, haha, I'm just kidding."
Qiang stepped a little to the side, his hands grabbing Lijuan's arm before pushing the woman towards the three.
"You can have her!"
He quickly ran away from the scene, not looking back as Lijuan loudly screamed his name to get help.
The woman's cries for help are of no use, as Qiang doesn't mind getting her hurt. Maybe it's his way of vengeance, as she didn't help her back in The Tiger's Den.
And also because his injuries are not fully healed.
The four men look at the running Qiang; their eyes meet, and they quickly burst out laughing before they look at the woman on the ground.
Because Qiang pushed her and the three men did not grab her, Lijuan's butt made contact with the dirty ground.
The bandaged man squatted down, causing Lijuan to shiver and use her hands to crawl her way away from them.
"Don't try to run away now, baby girl."
Lijuan's tears ran down her cheeks. The smallest of the men walked towards her and held her hair, causing her sob to get loud.
"Why are you hurting a lady?"
The five of them look at where the voice came from, seeing a hooded person with normal clothing.
The four men look at each other. The middle man walks near the hooded person, grabbing the person's collar.
"Why do you care? No one dares to come out to fight with us."
The hooded person looks up; their face is blocked by the hood and the black mask the person wore.
The middle man smirks, seeing the glare the person gave him. He couldn't help but grab the hood on the person's head, wanting to remove it.
"What are you? A mysterious superhero?"
The person grabbed the middle man's arms, and they quickly spun around, getting the man's arm twisted on his back.
The man shrieked in pain as his bones were positioned where they shouldn't be. His scream caught the attention of the three, who all shook their heads.
"He never really learned."
The person looks at the three, seeing that they do not care about their crewmate.
The person pushes the man away from their place, causing him to fall flat on his face as his members-only laugh at him.
Lijuan saw the person's eyebrows furrow at the reaction the three were giving them. She glances at the three men before slowly and quietly standing up from the ground.
She was about to run away from the place when she felt a pain in her right leg.
She yelled in response, looking to her right to see an arm and the bandaged man's face with a crazy smile on his face.
"You dare to run away?"
Lijuan cries for help, her eyes looking at the person standing before she feels hands on her hair.
The three laugh at her reaction, seeing that she's suffering because of them and feeling good for their happiness.
The bandaged man was sent away from the crying girl; his eyes widened when he saw the stranger in front of him as Lijuan hid behind their back.
"What the hell are you two still doing?!"
The bandaged man yelled at the other men, causing them to stop giggling to themselves and quickly approach their member.
"Idiots! You two should beat them up!"
The two quickly looked at their backs, seeing that the girl and the stranger had already gone away from the place.
"Ouch! Wait, I can't handle the pain."
Lijuan said, her eyes looking at the stranger as the person looked back at her. She heard the stranger sigh, and she squealed as the person carried her and ran away from the place.
"You two wouldn't be able to get away from us!"
Lijuan can hear the bandage man's voice yelling as the stranger quickly turns to the right, hiding behind a big tree, and puts Lijuan down on the ground.
"Can we go out?"
Lijuan asks, her head spinning as she suddenly feels light-headed from the constant screaming and crying and the pain she's feeling in her legs.
"We'll have to remove your pants."
"W-what?"
Lijuan couldn't help but look at the stranger, her eyes sparkling with a pained and scared expression, causing the person to remove the jacket they were wearing as their hood dropped on their back.
Lijuan widens her eyes, seeing the long hair the person has, as her mouth goes agape at the familiar yet unexplainable aura the person is projecting.
"You're a girl."
"Miss, you're slowly losing blood. Let me stop it."
The woman avoided Lijuan's eyes as she put her jacket on her lap. The girl on the ground slowly reached for her pants, gently removing them from her lower body before she gave them to the stranger.
The stranger was quick to grab it; she tore the pants very easily as Lijuan watched in awe. The girl squatted down again, her eyes looking at the sitting woman before she gently lifted the wounded leg.
"This will stop the blood from coming out."
Lijuan nodded her head as they held eye contact. She quickly looks away as the stranger looks at the wound, wrapping it with the torn pants.
Lijuan hissed in the process as the stranger tried her best to tie the torn pants.
As she finishes, a phone rings nearby, causing Lijuan to flinch, thinking it's the man who almost hurt her.
"Sorry, I'll have to go."
Pulling her phone out of her pocket, the stranger's eyes widen at the realization that she's already late, causing her to say her farewell to Lijuan.
Her eyes look at the woman on the ground, and the pleading look she's giving causes the stranger to shake her head and stand up.
"I have called the ambulance; they're on their way."
The stranger said this before leaving the area.
