Chapter 49 - Chapter 49

"That was fun," Lucifer said happily to Athena as they both walked to their department.

They both went to the teacher's office holding the 3-D model of their assignments.

There were other 3-D models on the desk, Lucifer observed them, smirked, and thought proudly, 'Getting first place is going to be a breeze.'

Athena shook her head when she saw Lucifer smirk. 'His disappointment is going to be immense when he doesn't get the result he wants,' she thought.

They left the office and Lucifer said, "Human creativity is getting lower," he said.

"Why do you say so?" Athena asked in confusion.

Lucifer sighed. "That Lillian girl, she had so much potential to try to make my life miserable and she flopped it hard, twice," he said in disappointment.

"That's because the rules are stricter," Athena said. "If her plan had worked, then there would be a probability that by the end of the day, the Empire's security would be outside the school waiting to arrest us," she explained.

"Really?" Lucifer said in surprise. "Why would we be arrested for that?"

"She was sent to the hospital because we beat her up, as long as her evidence is clear then there would be no problem with throwing us in prison for about three years or making us pay a hefty fine to be bailed out," Athena said.

"Well, it's a good thing you figured out we should go back in time to fifty minutes ago when we debunked the video as fake," Lucifer said grinning. "By the way how were you able to do it?"

"I'm the Goddess of Wisdom," Athena said, Lucifer realized what he said was dumb and he just nodded.

They went to class and saw Rosemarie sitting in her seat. Lucifer walks to her with a smile on his face. "Rosemarie," he said.

"Good morning, Phoenix," Rosemarie said.

"You are here early," he said.

Rosemarie rested her head on her desk. "Roger and Philip have an important excursion to a hospital, they had to get here early and Mother wouldn't be driving back and forth because I don't want to go to school an hour earlier than usual," she explained. "The worst part is that I have to return home two hours later than usual because Roger wouldn't be back before then," she said sounding a bit sad and frustrated.

"Poor you," Lucifer said feeling bad for her. "How about you come over to my place, just until Roger returns, then Rosetta can take you home when the time comes," he suggested.

"Why don't you just take me back home?" Rosemarie asked in confusion.

"I am looking for an excuse for us to hang out," Lucifer replies, smiling.

Rosemarie wanted to refuse, but this was an opportunity to investigate what or who the person standing in front of her truly was.

"Okay," she said.

Lucifer smiled happily and said, "Great." He went to his seat.

Athena sat down next to Rosemarie and said, "You know something you're not supposed to know."

Her breathing quickened immediately. "I-I don't know what you're talking about," she said, in a panicked voice.

Lucifer turned around when he felt panic coming from her direction but saw that there was nothing wrong before turning back smiling.

"Listen, I won't do anything to you," Athena said, looking forward before saying, "You are under his protection so I can't do anything to you, it would cause a lot of problems."

'Under whose protection?' Rosemarie thought, panicking a lot more.

Lucifer turned around again when he felt her panic, but saw that there was nothing wrong, he reluctantly turned back around.

Rosemarie took a few deep breaths to calm herself down. "Why are you telling me this?" she asked.

"You have an idea of something about Phoenix," Athena said calmly, before turning to look at her. "I figured it out when he said he wants to invite you over, your slight reluctance told me you know something," she said.

Rosemarie pursed her lips a bit. 'What is going to happen now?' she thought. 'Will she tell Phoenix, then he would kill me?' she thought a bit fearfully.

"Don't worry nothing will happen to you," Athena said reassuring her. "That's because I can't do anything to you or rewrite your memories," she said. "And I doubt Phoenix would want to do anything to you, he thinks of you as his friend."

Rosemarie was relieved at the same time she was a bit terrified, but she couldn't help but ask the question she had had for the past few weeks. "Is Phoenix human?"

Athena smiled at her. "What do you think?" she asked.

"No?" Rosemarie replied.

Athena ruffled her hair and laughed a bit. "Who knows," she said light-heartedly.

'He's not human,' Rosemarie thought, touching her head in a daze.

"The teacher has come," Athena said before she could ask any more questions. "Concentrate this time around," she said seriously. "I'll ask you questions."
