Lexington
I can feel nervous energy buzzing through my bloodstream as I struggle to keep my feet planted firmly on the ground. Keeping my mind steady is the hardest thing I've ever done. I'm stationed in Christopher and Anna's garden which lies amongst the rows of vines. It's Anna's baby, really. It's modest, but still boasts some of the most beautiful roses as well as an archway that is covered in winding vines of both red and green grapes. The leaves are green and the spiraling wisps of the vine reach out to greet us.
"Where the fuck is she? She's late," I bite the whisper to Nic at my side who takes the opportunity to place a palm on my shoulder.
"She's coming, just be patient."
"Easy for you to say. You're not standing here waiting for the rest of your life to walk down that aisle."
A playful grin lifts the corner of Nic's mouth. "Oh, I wouldn't say that."
