Genvieve
I fell through my dorm room door with more exhaustion than usual at the end of my day. Trent truly took every opportunity to parade me around campus like his own personal show-poodle. And what could I do but play along? It's like I'm back to playing Ellie, but on steroids. It's exhausting to play a part like that, to that degree, for such a long period of time. But I didn't phone it in and I have the headache building behind my eyes to prove it.
As soon as I was in my room I saw Jade and Daria sitting at the table with three shots of tequila lined up. I drew my eyebrows together. "Tequila? On a Tuesday? Surely you jest."
The responding smile from Jade is patronizing and Daria's eyes hold a hint of regret in them before she speaks. "Come have a shot with us, Ellie, then we have something we need to talk about."
