The following morning, Lenore and I gathered our stuff together before hitting brunch with the guys. The bar was known for bloody marys which are basically meals with absurd garnishes like burgers or pizza. I got one with breakfast meat and the traditional olives and celery, calling that good enough for breakfast.
Lexington used the time to try to talk Lenore and me into staying at the beach house. Nic was also on his side, making eyes at Lenore and promising massages in the hot tub. I'm dying to hear what happened between those two. I fully intend to pull every detail from Lenore's lips. She owes me these details.
Somehow, we are able to make it out of there without going home with them, and without them coming back with us by convincing them that we don't get a lot of time together and would love to get a little girl time before Lenore flies out in two days. This isn't a lie. I'm already beginning to feel dread settle in my guts at the idea of being alone again.
