Chapter 22 - Normal Dungeon

"Here, put this in the satchel" Uncle Hue passed the book to the confused youth. He reached him and they both walked out of the castle. The guards and everyone in the castle watched on as the duo left the room, while still having a mundane conversation.

They left the castle after finishing everything they needed, on their way out Henry asked bout the tree and his uncle responded by plucking a handful for him. Although it was guarded and had a barrier, it still wasn't enough to stop the old man plus the guards didn't even look at them.

"I see you guys were having fun" When they left the castle, Kento said to the duo as they entered the flying ship.

The Castle in the distance was covered in ice or rather was turned into ice and above the castle was a transparent dome made out of the frozen rain. Above in the dark clouds was a clearing made by the attack from earlier, the sun was shining on the castle making it stand out. Despite the heat from the sun, the area around it was still cold.

"Haha, I just wanted to make sure that they remember me when I retire" Uncle Hue laughed as he sat down.

"Your retiring? why are you so sudden" Hera asked in surprise. In her heart Hue was humanity's strongest force that would continue to defend humanity in the shadows and now he was retiring.

"Yeah, I'm getting old and I think I should rest. Besides my time is almost up" Uncle Hue said with an awkward smile. Seeing his reaction Hera stopped herself from talking, even with the armor it was clear that she wanted to say something.

They flew of towards the outer area of city, it took them a few minutes. They landed by a local park that had been closed off. In the middle of the park was what seemed like a portal and around it was a frame made of the ground, this was a dungeon. A few guards could be seen patrolling the area and guarding the dungeon.

"What are we doing here?" Athena said as they got off the flying ship.

"You kids are going to clear your first dungeon" Kento responded.

"Isn't that a normal dungeon, why don't we go into an F-rank dungeon for a challenge? " She asked in confusion. A normal dungeon was the weakest dungeon out of them all. It was so easy that a normal person with brain can survive in it.

"If it's not a challenge than you guys won't have a problem clearing it" Uncle Hue said.

"All of us are going in?, but not all of us brought our weapons" Akira said.

"Athena take off your armor and give it to me" Hera said to her daughter. "Here, these should do, take your pick" She took out a bunch of wooden swords, spears and staffs.

"Make sure you don't break them. We'll be waiting outside so try not to take to long" Uncle Hue said as he made a small makeshift house out of ice, he than made a small table and three chairs.

"The sooner you guys finish, the sooner you can have breakfast" it was at this moment they remembered that they hadn't had breakfast and were actually hungry.

"Hmp" Athena who was still wearing the academy uniform walked in first. She got signed up at the academy today, after fitting her uniform, she wore her armor as that to her was more comfortable. The two sisters wearing pajamas followed after, Akira entered along with Henry.

Henry didn't feel anything when he walked into the portal, besides the momentary darkness he only noticed that he was somewhere else when his body adjusted to somewhere else.

Henry found himself in a room that extanded outwards into the distance the floor, walls and ceiling was made of a smooth stone. Flaming torches were placed on the walls of either side.

"Should we stay together" Not fare from Henry the other girls were standing there looking at the walls. This was the first time either of them had entered a dungeon so they were intrigued.

"I'll be fine on my own, you guys go that way. We'll cover more ground if we split up" Athena said as she tuned to leave. They were at an intersection with three ways to go.

"What about you" Akira asked as he turned to Henry.

"Even though it's easy, I say we stick together" Henry said as he looked at the three siblings. "Although I agree with her, I know that they are probably testing us." Henry thought. He knew that his uncle didn't do certain things without a reason.

They took the rout on the left, Athen had earlier gone right.

*Shrieek*

After a while of walking the group of four, saw a small figure in the distance. The figure was a small creature that stood at 1 foot, the creature had an ugly face with sharp teeth and green skin. This was a goblin and it had a club in it's hand.

Korah who had been walking infront of the group, drew out her wooden sword and ran towards the goblin. By the time the goblin turned around to investigate the commotion, it's head was cut horizontal in half.

"It's only this much?" Korah asked in confusion. It wasn't that had for her to kill it, killing it was barely an inconvenience.

The body of the gobline hit the ground and it quickly started to decompose and within a matter of seconds disappeared into the ground.

"These things are actually weak" She said to the others.

"Let me try this time" Chiyo who saw another figure in the distace, called out.

She quickly sneaked behind it and swung her bow staff at the goblins head. Her staff hit the ground moments later, make a sound that echoed around the room. The staff had went through the goblins head entirely.

"You are right this is easy" Chiyo responded, she barely felt any resistance from that attack.

As Chiyo said this, a goblin appeared infront of them and shrieked. It ran towards them at full speed, when it had closed enough distance it attacked.

Henry saw the attack coming from last week and dodged it. He threw a fist at the goblins face it it went threw it, blowing a hole in the goblins head.

They carried on down the path and took turns killing the goblins. They came across another intersection and this time they decided to split up and cover more ground. Korah went on her own, straight ahead. Akirah and Chiyo went right and Henry went left.

After they split separated Henry decided to pick up his pace. He started running down the long hallway with his sword at hand. When he came across a goblin he wouldn't stop and just kill it along the way. Like an irresponsible person who just ran over an animal, he didn't even look at his killings.

There was nothing else special about the dungeon other than the fact it was like a maze, Henry had passed a few intersections, while sometimes he'd be meet with a dead end. Whenever that would happen he'd just turn back and take a different turn. After a while of doing this he lost his sense of direction but he figured that so long as he kept seeing the goblins he was going the right way.
