Chapter 29 - Mana cultivating

Sitting on the balcony, Henry calmed down and relaxed his body.

Mana cultivation was the newest and the most popular, practice humans discovered since the invertion of sliced bread. How it worked was that a person would need to gather the mana in their bodies, which required an absurd amount of concentration and time. A lot of people lacked the patience and time to cultivate.

After completing the first step, the mana would than improve the person's stats, from strength, sights, all the way down to their genes. From then on, the body would then develop magic that was like an extanded part of the body.

Depending on the class a person chose, magic would help them perform feats that were previously unheard of. Like a muscle, the only way to improve your magic was to exercise it and just like a muscle, scientist were discovering many ways to improve it faster and better but the only problem their researchers were slow was because of magics abstruct nature.

If someone used up the magic in their bodies they would have to wait for it to replenish before they could cast spells, there were a few methods that could be used to replenish their magic faster but the widely used one was just resting.

No matter who you were, everyone had to go through this long and tiresome journey, everyone except for the royal families. The process was still the same, it was just that the process had some extra steps, extra steps that made a big difference.

The process went smoothly and without a hitch, Henry absorbed the mana through his pores. The mana slowly filled up his body. After about thirty minutes of consistently cultivating, Henry's skin started to itch. Just like oxygen, too much of mana was poisonous, so Henry decided to stop.

"This is gonna take forever but I don't mind" Henry said as he opened his eyes.

He got up and looked at the ring he got from his uncle, after spending a few minutes trying to figure out how to open it, he gave up.

"Ohh Henry you were here, come join us" He entered the dorm and saw his fellow roommates and a few other guys playing cards on the table.

"I don't know how to play card games" Henry hasn't grown up like most kids and missed out alot on what was considered the "Norm".

"Where playing 7 delights, come I'll teach you" Luther said as he took out a packet of candy and placed them on the table. The were about ten people and they all took out a few snacks and placed them on the table.

They weren't playing for money or anything, just fun. Their "Playtime" lasted till midnight, the wasn't any curfew during the weekends. Henry learnt alot in those few hours but the key thing he learnt was that no one cared about anything other than what was happening in the moment, he enjoyed himself too.

Night slowly came and the others left for their dorms, Henry laid awake, staring at the dark ceiling. He thought about the events of the day with a light heart, he shoved those thoughts behind his head and decided to sleep.

___

The night slowly passed and for the first time in a while, the rain finally slowed down and came to a halt, the clouds slowly cleared. Warm rays of sunlight slowly occupied most of it's previous spots. The fresh smell of rain and the ground became potent in the air. The chirping of birds was slowly filling the silent void.

*Splat* *Splat*

Henry was jogging in the wet grass fields. He had woken up early and decided to cultivate, after about thirty minutes he went for a jog in a sports field he found by chance, which were quite fare away.

The field resembled a soccer stadium with chairs around it. The only difference was that, there weren't that many chairs around the field and that in the not so fare distance were the school colored buildings.

*Huff* *Huff*

Henry finally finished his laps around the field, his chest was sore and his legs felt heavy, his chest felt like it had phlegm, his clothes were covered in sweat. He hadn't ran in a few days and this was a result.

After resting for a bit Henry got up to leave, the only problem was that he didn't remember how he got here, and where here was. Earlier he had followed decided to go for a jog around the school but changed his plans when he saw the field, he had been in the acedemy for a few days and hadn't gotten the time to memorize the school.

"What are these buildings for anyway" Henry thought as he covered his eyes with his hands.

Henry picked a random direction and left the stairs through it, he arrived in front one of the budings that enclosed the fields and walked alongside it.

He arrived in front of a passageway, and stepped back on the pavement.

"Wrong way I guess" he said under his breadth, what he remembered that when he came here, he was running alongside a fence. "Why do all these buildings look alike anyway" Henry thought as he picked a random direction again.

Henry looked around the empty hallways and saw a girl standing near a fountain in the middle of the garden and decided to ask her. It wasn't that early but due to it being a sunday, many students were still sleeping. No matter the logo, the name or the program, school was still school and teenagers were still kids who wanted nothing but fun, so most of them still slept in when they got the chance.

"Hey can you help" Walking up behind the girl, Henry spoke up.

The girl was stunningly beautiful, she had black hair tied in a high ponytail, the base of her hair was a light red color. She wore black leggings and a black sports top that covered only chest, her outfit left little to the imagination.

The girl who had her head infront of her legs, heard a voice from behind her or rather infront of her, came back to her senses and got up. She turned around and Henry lost his breadth for a sec.

Her facial features, simply perfect. Most guys would die for her and most girls would kill to be her. She was so beautiful that the author couldn't describe her properly, her beauty was simply otherwordly.

"What do you want?" the girl asked, her voice sounded so good that Henry couldn't get enough of it, he wished he could drink it or at least hear it everynight before he went to sleep.

"Oh hmhmh, do you know in which direction the admin building is" Henry came back to his senses, he cleared his throat and head when he saw the girl's angry expression.

"Straight that way" The girls index finger moved closer to Henry as she pointed behind him, Henry instinctively held his breadth for a sec.

Without waiting, the girl turned around and ran in the direction Henry came from.

Damn! I need to start training there from now on but I need to sleep in a little longer and get just a bit more rest! Yes I'll do just that! Henry's head went numb as he admired some dump in a trunk.

After a minute of being dazed Henry decided to leave the area, his pants for some unknown reason were feeling tight. He decided to jog so as to not meet anyone.

After about few minutes of running, Henry came across the admin building, and from there it was smooth sailing back to his dorm building.

"Oh there you, the guys and I were wondering were you went" Luther said when Henry walked in. They were all sitting around the table, sipping some morning tea.

"Yeah, I went for a light jog. Thank you" Henry said as he sat down, he received some tea from Finn.

"Light jog, you were gone for quite a while" Richard said with some suspicion in his voice. Every time Richard interacted with Henry, he'd act weird, well weirder than normal, Henry got the feeling that this man didn't trust him.

"Ignore him, we plan to take a bath and then hit the cafeteria for some grub, care to join us" Luther intergected and said, he wanted everyone to be cool with each other as they are gonna be together for quite some time now.

"If you guys don't mind me tagging along that is than yes" Henry responded politely, he didn't know why Luther was always polite to him and always smiling. He agreed, not that he had any plans.

They sat there and drank some tea, while Luther spoke, he was telling stories and cracked some jokes every now and then. The atmosphere got easy when Finn also started telling jokes.
