Chapter 14 - Bribing

With a loud bang, all the men in the room widened their eyes as they looked at Huo Man.

And a certain man that looked clearly frightened was White Bear she had been looking for.

Huo Man's cold gaze swept across the entire room. A man in a suit and leather shoes was reclining on a sofa in the middle of the room. His eyes exuded coldness as he looked at her. He must be the president of the company that was having dealings with White Bear.

"Who are you?" A burly man stood up in front of her and stared her down.

"I'm just here…" Huo Man replied with a smile, "...to take back what belongs to me."

After saying that, she looked at White Bear, who seemed to be holding his breath and said, "Also, I'll be taking care of those who've betrayed me."

From how things looked, the company president easily guessed who Huo Man was.

Coincidentally, he was just saying how he wanted her technology, and now that Huo Man was right in front of him, how could he not seize this opportunity, so he spoke up, "Could you be H?"

"I'm not. "

Huo Man rarely revealed her identity as H. The reason White Bear was so afraid of her was because he had always thought that she was the most loyal assistant of the mysterious H.

"If you have anything else to say, just say it." Huo Man wanted to see what this president, who's been trying to copy her work, was up to.

The man glanced at White Bear and saw how obviously nervous he was, so he knew that Huo Man held a somewhat special position in their organization. "You can call me Tom. I'm the President and CEO of Weixin Technology. Since you've come all this way, I'll be straight with you: Get H to consider working with us directly.

"Don't worry, I won't mistreat you. "

Huo Man looked at Tom in disdain. Did he really think he could buy her off with money? What a joke!

She had already asked Tang Qing to investigate the background of Weixin Technology, and it wasn't a proper company at all. If her tech ever falls into their hands, they would probably use them to do something to the detriment of society.

Huo Man originally developed her AI technology for medical purposes and to further the development of virtual reality technology. She would never let anyone use her technology to do harm.

"And what if I don't agree?" Huo Man looked at Tom derisively. "I've already had your background investigated. Did you think you could hide it from me?"

Tom's face darkened, "If you're willing to work with me, I can give you as much money as you could ever want."

"Is this how you bribed White Bear?" Huo Man sneered as she crossed her arms while staring at White Bear.

White Bear was trembling, but stammered a reply, "I… I've worked for H for so long, but she… She's never paid me well. Everyone has their own aspirations, so I-I went and found a more suitable partner. What's wrong with that?"

"Then do you know where all the traitors of the organization have gone?" Huo Man's eyes grew cold and were filled with killing intent.

White Bear got so intimidated by Huo Man that he didn't even dare to breathe.

"I'll ask you again. Are you willing to cooperate?" Tom's patience was limited, so he interrupted the conversation between White Bear and Huo Man.

"No," she replied without any hesitation.

Tom gave a look to his bodyguard thugs on the side and then stood up and surrounded Huo Man, wringing their wrists.

To them, Huo Man was as easy to deal with chicks.

Just as a man was taking out his gun to point it at Huo Man, in a blink of an eye, she had sent it flying out of his hand with an accurately aimed flying kick.

With a clack, the gun fell to the ground, which she then quickly picked up herself and let loose a bullet to the leg of the man who had tried to attack her.

Before anyone else could react, the man fell to the floor, writhing in pain. Blood flowed from his leg, dyeing the dark patterned floor tiles red. It made things particularly eerie.

Everyone was shocked. None of them could believe that Huo Man's seemingly weak body was really so powerful.

"What are you waiting for?!" Tom angrily shouted, his voice slightly trembling. He no longer looked at Huo Man as casually as before, but instead with a little fear.
